Top 10 Best Movie Remakes

3 words 'Blood test scene'

The Original of 1933 is really a cult movie. So, I won't say anything about that. As for the 1977 King Kong movie, the Peter Jackson movie is a thousand times better. Naomi Watts is so much better than Jessica Lange. Naomi Watts should have won an Oscar for this movie.
I've never been able to pinpoint it, but there is something special about this film. Not the story, that is for sure.
It was'nt as good as the original film, but I would say it's the best remake out there. Peter jackson is a legend!
This film kicks ass. Wait until you see the exetended edition its probably even more kickass. Peter Jackson forever!

Never knew this was a remake of a Hong Kong movie, Infernal Affairs. Still a great thriller crime movie.

Way better than the original.

There are a lot of similarities to the film A Night To Remember (1958)
This movie is not a remake

My all time favorite movie and my favorite romantic film as well

The story is well written and the acting is fantastic.
1 of the very few remakes I like more than the original

Such a good film.

Now, Johnny Depp is awesome in this movie, and the soundtrack was amazing Tim Burton stuff (Not nearly as incredible as Edward Scissorhands, Burton's all-time best film, but still cool). However, that doesn't change the fact that the original with Gene Wilder as the title role was infinitely better. The Oompa Loompas seemed more like real people, and not...you know...minions from Despicable Me. Also, there aren't any unnecessary subplots in this film that only serve to stretch the run-time, and Gene Wilder is incredible as Wonka, the most ingeniously subtle performance I've seen my entire life, whereas Johnny Depp (Though, again, is awesome in this movie) is all over the place. However, this film does have a lot of heart and a lot of elements that Roald Dahl lovers like myself will adore, and Freddie Highmore is fantastic as Charlie Bucket. This is a good movie, don't get me wrong, but it's not Edward Scissorhands good.
Not as good as the original, but still a great flick! It's much more darker and closer to the book, just the way Roald Dahl wanted it to be! I liked the first one a lot better, but this one was great too. (Oh, and P.S. Kudos Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp. )
Oh come on the original didn't have the book name like the remake.
Roald Dahl hated the 70s movie, and his wife said he would've liked the remake.
Both films are tied in my opinion because both are great

What's this doing on the list?! It was produced by Michael bay for goodness' sakes!

I love it so much, this is probably better than King of the Monsters.

Along with the Parent Trap has been remade in just about every generation

Most people probably don't know this is a remake

No way that this is better than the Original. Don't tell me that Alec Baldwin is better than Steve McQueen. Kim Bassinger is a good actress but she's not as convincing as Ali McGraw was for that movie. Don't get me wrong, I think that this one is well "re"made and very entertaining to watch but it's not better than the Original.

A Fist Full Of Dollars is a remake of a 1961 Japanese film called Yojimbo, from director Akira Kurosawa

Masterful character-driven western that vastly transcends the original.

I love this movie so much!

It did have a better prom scene. The original version was so weak. The remake is more violent and has better effects. Which makes it awesome.
On one hand Sissy Spacek was the perfect Carrie on the other hand The remake has the coolest final scene.
The only real flaws was that in the remake Carrie somehow knows about her powers and is somehow not an outcast at the school she is barely even bullied in the movie making the final scene feel pointless
Are you kidding? Carrie with Sissy Spacek is a classic. They will never make a Carrie better than the Original.
