Watch Jonathan on the Revelation dvd & you will soon see he's not only great at playing the familiar Journey hits like "Open arms", "Faithfully", & "Whose crying now" but he shows he is also a master of classical piano. Amazing to watch! A great talented pianist of many styles!
Great singer/songwriter/pianist that was the 1970s version of Cole Porter.
Just listen to his song 'Harbour'. Or 'Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)'. Or the syncopated rhythm in 'I Go To Rio'.
Utopia king! This man can play! - caybatha
Vanilla Fudge... Best Hammond B3 out there.
Better than any of them
He was the most important member of the allman brothers who wasn't a guitarist. It wouldn't be called the allman brothers without him.
Only 85! What?
So underrated and never got the credit he deserved.V 1 Comment
Accomplished classical pianist from Julliard School of Music. Decided to play rock n roll and become a songwriter. Thank God he did!V 1 Comment
His solo work on New Orleans classics is wonderful
New Orleans sound. One of the best, in my opinion.
Lee should be much higher on this list. Was so soulful with his hammond organ riffs and his signature screaming. Very few people really know of him and his work.
Great talent, great shows
This classically trained pianist is better remembered for his hits featuring a guitar. He shows chops on songs like To The Morning, Sketches, Beggar's Game, Seeing you Again, Same Old Lange Syne, Ghosts, Heart's Hotel and also in more classical pieces like Paris Nocturne or The First Christmas Morning. He Better fits the title "pianist" than some who made the list.
