Italy covers an area of 301,338 km². With almost 62 million inhabitants, it is the third most populous EU member state. Located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, Italy shares open land borders with France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, San Marino, and Vatican City. The... read more
We have been in Italy for our weeding it was a disaster.
We are not used to eat Italian food, and they were not able to cook something else, some more tasty and more pleasant dishes.
Idem for finding restaurant not offering this Italian food, this country is definitively not like the other countries in western Europe.
If you come from a country like ours (Taiwan), we recommend you better to go to other western European country for food but also for the rest, because Italian people are not so nice with tourists.
It should be also mentioned in touristic guides that Italy is like so closed people and way of life.
Sincerely.
Liu Chiu-long.
Restaurants can provide you a good meal and pizzeria's are ready to satisfy you the apetite with all kinds of pizza's. Note: avoid pakistani, chinese and arab pizzeria's-they are filth and not safe. Sea food can be found anywhere and they take pride in their panettone(traditional italian cake) and local chocolates and candies. Lasagna is the best thing I've ever tasted and accompanied by a red wine it's heaven on earth. Ravioli, tortellini and gnocchi are some good stuff you have to try if you visit Italy. Prices can be peppered but it doesn't matter since they prepare it for you once you order it(either a male cook or a nice italian lady who will start mixing flour and ingredients) and surely you don't regret it in the end! Food is not heavy! Wines are great! And venetian grappa is very strong and tasty. Avoid frozen pre prepared food from the supermarkets as sometimes you can have the bad luck to find expired stuff despite being on term on paper. If you are not happy with this you can easily go to Mcdonalds.
The best equal with Japan, South-Korea, China, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand...
Because is THE country of Gastronomy.
Is the country for sauces :
Sauces in French cuisine date back to the Middle Ages. There were many hundreds of sauces in the culinary repertoire. In cuisine classique (roughly from the end of the 19th century until the advent of nouvelle cuisine in the 1980s), sauces were a major defining characteristic of French cuisine.
Is the country of Nouvelle Cuisine.
Is one of those countries like USA where you can find lots of different food from the world wide.
The School of Cuisine, 'Institut Paul Bocuse' (Paul Bocuse Institute) is the best school in the world for training chefs. Each year many new chfs are trained to the best and highest cuisine level. They come from all over the world (Asia, South and North America, Europe, Africa..). It's a real full immersion in the universe of gastronomy, to live a unique experience and learn secrets. The international Ambassador of gastronomy and hospitality.
Amazing food! Healthy and they know how to enjoy living!
Country that consumes most vegetables!
Healthy. Worlds best place to go on a diet.
Spanish and French food are considered the best in the world, yes Italian is good but it can't be compered to Spanish gastronomy.(Pasta and pizza are considered fast-food) Spanish food isn't similar to Italian if you tried the real both the techinque and flavours ar compltely different.
Everyone in Europe eating Spanish fruits will confirm the low quality of them as low-cost production, with massive used of unpaid North-African slaves and huge amount of pesticides.
Paella is the most famous food in all Europe, better than risoto for sure, Spain is also the country of wine and greatest chefs.
Fish are well served and come not only from one sea like Mediterranean but also from Atlantic ocean.
The Moules-frites (mussels and fries) are the best, but it's just a small part of Belgium food. Here in Belgium we offer the best beer of the world ans lots of international food very appreciated by experts.
They made waffles, moules-frites, and they are known for delicious chocolates. They also invented french fries, but France kind of knicked em.
Belgian chocolate does it come from here
Some territory was lost after World War 1 and a lot more after World War 2, basically started by Hitler's Nazi dictatorship. Then the Soviets kept their zone... read more
I've been there and they eat a lot of beef and bread. In Bavaria they have this bavarian sandwich wrapped up in bavarian flag pattern and contains a big piece of beef and two slices of bread.. no ketchup,no seasoning,no salt,no pepper.. just a damn piece of meat with two slices of bread. Other then that I've seen a lot of variations of pasta with sauce(beef of course). Not my favorite place to enjoy a good meal. Except beer.. They have all kinds of immaginable and unimaginable sorts of beer. And let's not forget about chocolates. Good tasty chocolates, candies and pastries.
Great variety of healthy and delicious food, the best bread, pastries, deli food, cold cuts, cooked meats.
Just come in our fantastic country to discover all our famous food.
Real pasta here in Germany made with top of ingredients and with the German expertise, the taste far from the other overrated ones.
The country is situated in Western-Central Europe, and is bordered by Italy to the south, France to the west, Germany to the north, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. Switzerland is a landlocked country geographically... read more
Try to eat cheese everyday, and then you will change opinion. Cheese and potatoes, that's what we get in this country
(Almost) Always very high quality ingredients
SWISS CHEESE looks like Spongebob LOL
I've went to a lot of european countries and I can tell you in my opinion and some others, the best overall countries cuisine it France and Portugal, Italy is also amazing.
The Portuguese cosine is not for every stomach, thing like Olive Oil (which is present in almost all dishes) might force some tourist (if they aren't from the Mediterranean) to visit our WC
Just the best food in Europe for a small country they really have a deep cuisine from the seafood to super meaty stews.
Norway has one of the best foods in the world. People need to try them.
Turkey is definitely on top 3 but unfortunately they are not good at advertising their food. Turkey is the cradle of civilizations and they have amazing tastes for anyone in the world. If you are American, you are going to love their meat dishes, if you are Mediterranean, you gonna love their fruits and vegetable and foods made with olive oil. If you like spicy things, you are going to love their South Eastern dishes. I can't believe people add Germany, USA, and England to this list. It must be a joke. Ask any tourist who has been to Turkey and eat their food and listen to what they say. They adore their food. Turkish food should be in top 3 on any internet site and to my surprise many don't even include it in their list. It really is about politics. Most of those people probably never even tried Turkish food whatsoever. Asian food except India has the weirdest food in the world. I can't believe people add Vietnam to a list. Their food is plain horrendous. I tried so many Vietnamese food with friends from all over the world and not a single one liked it. Sorry but Turkish food is absolutely amazing. From a Spanish...
Everyone recognize UK, as well as USA, has the best coffee in the world, but not only, the s-called Mediterranean diet is a pure scam, British and American people are effectively more healthy than people from Southern Europe, they are built like rocks, because of their food.
This country probably has the best food for my taste. Fish and chips, roast dinners, what could you want more?
P.S. Jaffa CAKES are cakes. Sorry, but I had to add that for those who think they are biscuits.
Haggis and black pudding is better than armpit and snails
Because people don't know Scottish dishes, but it's quite normal to be in the top 10. If you knew of this cuisine is famous, you'd change idea about.
Delicious food restaurants in edinburgh, Scotland has it all lovely people, countryside and good food, shame about the weather
If you like fried chicken well it was invented in Scotland!
Denmark has really delicious food; one of the best not only in Europe but in the world.
At now (2019) Poland has the very high quality of food in stores and supermarkets. In my opinion, there's a much fresher, more aromatic vegetables and fruits with less fertilizers than in many developed EU countries and not everything is packed in plastic bags. Organic food often without "BIO" or "Organic" badges. It's ideal country to be on a diet and eating large amounts of fruits and vegetables
Pierogis are delicious and so many different flavours from them, along with barszbz and the national soup, bigos. The cabbage stuffed with meat and rice is delicious, great to eat on Christmas and the paczki are so powdery and sweet they made me feel happier than ever. Should be at least in the top 10, if not top 5.
Poland has great food. It is located centrally and shares flavors from many regions around it. Smaczne!
Swedish food is known all over Europe for its spicieness but not plain hot - in Sweden the kitchens use all kind of herbals from the nordic nature and combine them with wild animal meat, for ex elfs, chickens without medicals, (I think that Swedes in general are very enviromental observerant
and expecially abort their food), fresh fishes from the big rivers in this country in the north. A verk healthy kitchen, but also much interestered In the global developingen foodmarkets which could influense back and fort.
Sweden has the best food
Georgian food is the best not only in Europe but in the world too but it is little country and The world's people are not familiar with the local cuisine
Visit to Georgia and you see Georgia has best food in Europe and in the world
Best food in the world!
Although traditional Dutch cuisine is quite bland (potato and such) the country is also multicultural, which means it has many many dishes from al the guest laborers it had in the past as well as remains of the colonial days (South America and Indonesia). Never seen a country with so much variety and such high quality food!
Netherlands has amazing sweets like stroopwaffel (A cookie and syrup baked in the inside) and it also has a wide variety of seafoods and fancy restaurants.
England can trace its history as far back as the 10th century, but modern England didn't start till the Norman Invasion of 1066. In 1535, England annexed Wales and in 1603 shared a Monarch with Scotland, which eventually led to the Unification of the two... read more
So good fish and chips. Proud about my country and its food, better than southern European countries tend to convince us.
Best pizzas, we are the king of revisited Italian food, like from noodles to pasta in better.

Food and the sea are the only things that keep me living in Croatia. I enjoy olive oil, seafood, wine, meat products. It is influenced by Italian, Hungarian and Bosnian tradition. I eat delicious fresh and healthy.
I live in Croatia and food is delicious
More good food than people think.
Just come in our wonderful small but beautiful nation.
I live in wales and the food is proper banger mate.
ONe of the best cuisine! The people that say romanian food is disgusting are probably mad hungarians or americans eating only burgers (no offense)
It's great food. Uk has the worst food and it's above Romania, who in the world made this list
Romanian food is generally tasty and substantial. Romanian people love to enjoy a full table of food and a good wine or a strong tuica(a liquor even stronger than vodka). The meals are based on pork and chicken and surrounding Easter they will eat sheep too. You can trully sense the eastern culture in their food and you will definitely enjoy if invited to dine in a romanian home because of their hospitality and desire to please their guest. For those who are not used to eat a lot,the food might seem heavy at first because of the quantity and the fat contained but you can easily choose a borsch instead or a traditional plate based on salumi and cheese. Easter and Christmas are heavenly asocciated with sarmale, mici(small grilled meat rolls) and cozonac(traditional romanian cake). They enjoy sweets, cakes, pastries and chocolate and will drink beer and wines on every ocassion. All in all I think it's a cuisine that wont disappoint you,it tastes good, will fill you up and will cheer your day and depending on the region you find yourself at the moment you can taste the local specialities(ardeal, moldova, oltenia, maramures)as every region has a different way of preparing and seasoning their food. Nothing to regret. Romania has a mix of recipes that will make your holiday very tasty.
Very high quality food everywhere, the food standards are just excellent. At any level the food is miles ahead of anything you would find in England.
Best raw produce in the world
I am from here and we don't have that special stuff
Doesn't deserve to be 15
A cuisine so rich as their culture, it is Greek cuisine with Turkish, French, Italian influence basically... It's just cypriot, unique... I travelled to many countries and I grew up in Czech Rep, I studied in the UK for 3 years, and during the summer of 2011 I visited Cyprus with a Greek friend of mine, the beaches the sun are nice, but I really fell in love with their food and MEZE, You have no Idea!
