Top 10 Buffalo Bills Players Going Into the 2025-26 Season

The Buffalo Bills, on paper, have all the tools they need to make a deep run. Some thought they might enter a rebuilding phase, but they were right there when it was all said and done last year.

This team, on paper, has what it takes to get to the Super Bowl. They've had multiple opportunities to finally dethrone the Chiefs, and so far they haven't been able to finish the deal.

Josh Allen is playing out of his mind and is the reigning MVP.

Honestly, as a Chiefs fan myself, I think this is the year they finally get it done and defeat Mahomes in the playoffs. If not this year, then when?

The goal for the Bills remains the same: Super Bowl or bust.

There's nobody else it could've possibly been. Josh Allen isn't just the best player Buffalo has, he's also one of the best quarterbacks in the league and one of the best players across the league, period. He's the reigning MVP.
He's a true textbook dual-threat quarterback with a cannon arm and great scrambling abilities as well. On paper, he might be the most talented quarterback in the NFL. At least, a lot of people like to claim that he is. His only real flaw is lack of playoff success, specifically against the Chiefs. He just can't seem to beat them when it matters most and the stakes are the highest.
I think at some point it'll happen. He's already arguably the best quarterback in Bills franchise history.
James Cook

James Cook has been a dynamic weapon for the Bills' offense. He's coming off a strong 2024 season, earning an 82.3 grade overall by PFF, ranking 12th at his position. He finished with 1,009 rushing yards, leading the team and finishing 16th in the league. His 16 rushing touchdowns were tied for the league lead in 2024.
Cook is a dynamic running back who can take some of the burden off Josh Allen. He's a very versatile and explosive running back who can break tackles and gain yards. He has made back to back Pro Bowls, indicating he's one of the premier running backs in the league right now.
The Bills are certainly thankful to have him as their main bell cow running back.
Christian Benford

You wouldn't think a late round draft pick from the powerhouse of Villanova would be anything, but you'd be surprised. Christian Benford is not only a great cornerback, he's one of the best cornerbacks in the league.
PFF graded him 82.6 overall in 2024, ranking 5th out of all cornerbacks in the NFL. He's excellent in coverage, barely allowing any separation for his opponents, and is a consistently great tackler too. He finished 2024 with career high numbers.
Benford is known for making high impact plays and is by far the best cornerback the Bills have. He's a true textbook lockdown cornerback. The Bills were wise and extended him for the foreseeable future. A player of his caliber is important to keep around.
Dion Dawkins

Dion Dawkins has been excellent. He's made 4 straight Pro Bowl appearances, proving he can consistently play at a high level. Dawkins is one of the more underrated left tackles and a solid pass protector.
He's a bit of an unsung hero for the Bills' offense, keeping Josh Allen upright. Dawkins is a true leader, and his durability is second to none. He rarely, if ever, misses any games.
Ed Oliver

Ed Oliver has been a great defensive tackle for the Bills, a cornerstone of their pass rushing attack. He's a disruptive force, constantly getting quarterback pressures and generating sacks.
He had his big breakout season in 2023, earning him a nice, lucrative contract extension, indicating the Bills consider him a very valuable asset to the team. There's an argument that he hasn't even hit his peak yet.
Oliver should continue to be a dominant and productive force for the Bills' defensive line.
Greg Rousseau

Rousseau has shown significant improvement over time. He was highly touted as a draft prospect for good reason. He is a good run defender and a decent pass rusher, constantly generating pressures.
PFF gave him an 83.1 overall grade for the 2024 season, which ranked 12th overall in the league among edge rushers. The Bills obviously value Rousseau quite a bit and consider him a key component to their defense. They recently gave him a 4 year, 80 million dollar contract extension for good reason.
Khalil Shakir

The Bills lack a true WR1, but Khalil Shakir is basically the closest thing they have to one. Shakir has shown excellent hands and a low drop rate. He's an effective and consistent wide receiver.
He excels in the slot and can pick up decent yards after the catch. Shakir has shown significant growth and improvement in his game over his 3 seasons. He finished the 2024 season with 76 receptions, 821 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
Joey Bosa

Joey Bosa is essentially the Bills' Von Miller replacement. He's an experienced veteran pass rusher. He's been to 5 Pro Bowls in his career so far.
Bosa is incredibly talented when he's healthy. That's the key phrase, though. Joey Bosa has definitely endured his fair share of injuries throughout his career. There's a reason why the Chargers were OK with letting him go. The Bills are hoping he can bolster their pass rush attack and stay relatively healthy.
Dalton Kincaid

Dalton Kincaid definitely has a lot of untapped promise and upside. He had a good rookie year with 73 receptions and 673 yards. His second season was a bit of a step backward, but he did miss some games, to be fair.
Despite a down year, he has plenty of opportunities to bounce back in 2025. The Bills lack a true WR1, and Kincaid can take advantage of that. He's proven he has decent hands and athleticism. He may not be the next Kelce or Gronk, but could very easily become a Mark Andrews or George Kittle caliber tight end. He's got all the qualities that you want in a tight end and still has room for improvement.
I think it's obvious that he's the Bills' go-to tight end over Dawson Knox. If they want to reach that Lombardi Trophy, they need Kincaid to step up big time.
Maxwell Hairston

Maxwell Hairston is a generally good cornerback prospect, and the Bills desperately need help in the secondary, especially at cornerback. Hairston may be undersized, but he makes up for it with his blistering speed. He ran the fastest 40 time in the entire 2025 draft class at 4.28 seconds.
He's got good coverage skills, especially in zone coverage, and he can be a ball hawk, with 5 interceptions in 2023 and 2 of those returned for touchdowns. He did miss 5 games in 2024 due to a shoulder injury, which raises some concerns, but if he can stay healthy, he should be a good plug and start immediate option.
