    Team Fortress 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, Portal, BioShock, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Mass Effect, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, The Witcher, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, God of War II, The Simpsons Game, Drawn to Life, and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga - the list just goes on!

    Super Mario Galaxy, Team Fortress 2, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and so much more.

    This was the best year of my life, both personally and for gaming. Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, and Pokémon Diamond/Pearl were the standout games that year.

    The absolute peak of video gaming, just like 1939 was for cinema. Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid, Pokémon, and Half-Life laid the foundation for their respective genres.

    My favorite game ever, Metal Gear Solid, was released this year.

    Ocarina of Time is the best game of all time!

    Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and many other great games came out. Honestly, every game in 2004 was fantastic, but 10 years later, 2014 was a letdown.

    Games with complicated plots that were far ahead of their time.

    This should stay at #4. It was a pretty good year for video games, in my opinion.

    Grand Theft Auto V, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, BioShock Infinite, Assassin's Creed IV, and Batman: Arkham Origins, just to name a few. Some of these games I still play today.

The first three alone make it the best year for gaming ever, in my opinion.

    Minecraft took the world by storm, the 3DS was like a portable IMAX theater for video games, and who can forget Skylanders rising in popularity. This was such a good time in gaming. Anti-GamerGate was nonexistent, and Reddit was rising in popularity.

    2017 is, without a doubt, the best year in all of gaming for me (until another year dethrones it). The amount of great games that came out this year is outstanding. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Hollow Knight, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Super Mario Odyssey, Cuphead, A Hat in Time, Doki Doki Literature Club, Sonic Mania, Metroid: Samus Returns, and even Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which I really liked. Simply put, this year was amazing for video games, and I haven't even played all of them.

    Literally every console brought their all this year, including the release of the Switch, the biggest resurgence of a company in between consoles. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Cuphead, Sonic Mania, Resident Evil 7, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Persona 5, PUBG, Horizon Zero Dawn, NieR: Automata, Doom, and Hollow Knight.

    The Wii came out. Mario games for the Wii were released.

    It was Counter-Strike's evolution! Come on, Counter-Strike fans, let's put this on the top! Remember, this was the start of the evolution and the road to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive!

    Super Smash Bros.! Anyway, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Californication came out this year, and it's their best-selling album. I absolutely love it.

    Super Smash Bros. was released. This was the start of a great series.
