How did the B52's not get on the list they were awesome!
Finally I find the best new wave band!
The best beach-rock party group ever!
Underrated. B52 still give me a big smile. Love shack, baby!V 6 Comments
Love David Coverdale and Is this love
At least a top 20 band from the 80's
It in top ten idiots
How did they get here?V 3 Comments
This band should definitely be placed in top 10 along with New Order!
They are so cool
What about Toto? Why on earth is Toto not of the first ten rock bands?! They are one of the most extraordinary rock bands of the 80's that ever existed! They are perfect! I like almost every song of them. I swear that I have heard them even before I was born! They are extraordinary!
Africa, Hold the Line, 99, Rosanna, Stop Loving You, and home of the brave are their best.
Toto only 899 th what should be in the top 40
Simply the best.V 10 Comments
Listening to this group so takes me back to high school and cruising around in my '76 Camaro with the volume cranked up as high as it would go. I loved them then and still do. Brad Delp had such an awesome voice.
You know a band is good when you can listen to their songs over and over and never get tired of hearing it. Tom scholz is the greatest songwriter of all time. They had the most unique sound of any band ever. Also, you will never see a more perfect afro than sib hashian's.R.I. P brad.
Although they first hit big at the end of the 70s they average out as an awesome early to mid 80s guitar rock phenomenon.
Boston are a fantastic group, love there music.V 5 Comments
Chrissy Hynde is one of the finest songwriters EVER... Also vocalists! Her bands were always honest players who helped to her songs the "edge" they deserved! Learning to Crawl is one of the finest albums ever released! She never released anything but great albums!
My God people if the Pretender's are not here I don't know what to say.
Should have been higher... this band deserves it! Per and Marie combo is just mind blowing... the powerful 'listen to your heart' and the catchy 'the look' prove why they should deserve higher ranks!
Great band. Literally. Original and dynamic songs
Great Band, Glad to see them back after 20 year on the road again.
Oneof the best bands ever must be in the top 20V 2 Comments
TAKE ON ME IS NOT tHEIR BEST SONG by any meaning,90% OF THEIR MUSIC IS FULL OF DARK AND/ OR MELANCHOLY, WHILE TAKE ON ME IS AMONG THE COMMERCIAL 10%(THAT STUPID SONG doesn't REALLY SHOW THE GREATNESS OF A-HA'S LEGACY), and those ignorants saying that they have only one song, you can't be more ridiculous and ignorant, so do yourself a favour and go to check their 9 albums! They sure are one of the best bands ever(not only in the 80s)if not the best, because apart of their unique sound, also every song sounds different, and they have a plus that any other band has, morten's voice.. That is really the best voice I've ever heard. They haven't only made "perfect pop songs" but also "perfect rock songs", as they've always changed their style while time pass. And their songs have more complexity than what you can find in many others bands, so stop believing in the "gods of music" that magazines like The rolling stones loves to invent, overrating some artist, and ...more
Your opinion is not a fact. The world doesn't revolve around you. -_- - Derpyderpderpderp
This band is number one because of songs like Hunting High And Low, Scoundrel Days, East Of The Sun West Of The Moon, Stay On These Roads, I call your name, Sycamore Leaves, There's never a forever thing... The list is long because every a-ha Song is unique, Morten is one of the best voice on earth, Pal is one of the best Songwriters of all time and all three Band Members are real musicians. They have many so called "Perfect Pop Songs" in every Album. Just hear Hunting High And Low and you know what I mean. There is no one in the music scene who could sing this song in the way Morten can do. A-ha is the most underrated Band of all times because of their good looks and lack of scandals. If someone asks "how a-ha could be number one", then he/she should go and hear some more songs of them, Take On Me was not their only song (and it was one of their weakest songs and nevertheless brilliant).
Take on me was their best song, Some of you just say it isn't because you feel it was their most successful song and that to wasn't good enough, and I agree. a-ha was THE most underrated band of all time, but you can't blame that on the song that brought them to fame. Don't get me wrong I have heard about 95% of all their songs and I like all of them, Their best ones are Sun always shines on T. V, Stay on these roads, Cry Wolf, Scoundrel days, Butterfly Butterfly, Take on me, Foot of the mountain, October, Living Daylights, Train of thought, Hunting High and Low, Manhattan Skyline, I've been Losing You, Lifelines, Touchy, You are the one and so on. Notice that I didn't put Take on me first or last on the list because I don't like it when that happens because it makes it seem like the other songs don't matter. So yes a-ha was sadly underrated but no it's not take on me's fault.
Love of my life. Every song is greatV 62 Comments
This is the band that brought me into new wave. Should be at least 50!
One of the most powerful/spiritual groups of modern music.
Sisters are goth, not new wave. Agreed on placement.
This was one of the best bands of the 80s agreed!V 1 Comment
Radiohead banded together (officially) in the early 1990s, they are my fave band but should not be on the list at least under this name
Radiohead is a great band! CREEP is the best song ever... Radiohead should be upper on the list
Video killed the Radio Star...So true!
Wow... I mean, they are the best band of all time but... 80s?
One of the biggest college bands in the 80s. Never got the full recognition they deserved. Check out their greatest hits. Amazing songs. A ton of them.
One of my favorites. Some my other favorites include Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, The Clash, Foo Fighters and The Hives.
As someone who was born in 1970 I had fonder memories of the creche than the Clash. The alarm came along and changed that, a great band that got me into many others
The best live band I've seen, still going strong and still fantastic to see, full of energy and good old rock 'n' roll.V 4 Comments
Numerous hits on both sides of the Atlantic and still awesome!
One of the most underrated bands of all time.
It's been 30 years since I first heard "Something About You" and I still like listening to it up to this day!
My favourite band, very under rated great music.V 3 Comments
Best hip hop/rap group ever. should be in top 10 seriously what. such great songs like straight outta compton, the police, express yourself, gangsta gansta, 8 ball, something like that, and more. also one of the most controversial music artists ever. they are the pioneers of gangsta rap
Gimme All Your Lovin and legs are 80s songs by ZZ Top. And bands like this, the Clash, and Def Leppard are below Nirvana, which is the best in the 90s.
Did not make the top 100? Who made this list? Were you born yesterday?
One of the greatest bands of all time! Show me any other band on this list that headlined to represent the United States at the Olympics.
Oh really, classically trained musicians creating innovative rock 'n roll wind up at #217!? I suggest you review their body of work and then Roll Over Beethoven.
Jeff Lynne is a musical genius. If this was a 70s list, ELO would be much higher.
The most underrated band... Thank you Jeff Lynne
To be fair, ELO is a 70's band, why is it here?
They're biggest international hit "Xanadu" was released and in 1980 and they were successful until 1982 - jrodzV 3 Comments
So underrated - front man Mike Tramp is a talented songwriter and vocalist, as well as being a great guy, and continues to release a wealth of quality music. Uplifting, melodic and finely crafted.
Come on eye of the tiger burning heart they should be top ten
Still blasting this out. Fab band
I don't get how this band is NUMBER 234V 2 Comments
