Should be far higher than 141, top 25 at least

"We are Blood Brothers"...How that sounds.

Iron Maiden best one! :>

145 Dire Straits Dire Straits Dire Straits were a British rock band formed in 1977 by Mark Knopfler, his younger brother David Knopfler, John Illsley, and Pick Withers.

Listen to their self titled album and Brothers in Arms album. Great collections of music and the best work from Dire Straits in my opinion.

Selling in excess of 120 million albums Dire Straits should be very high up on the rankings.

Have you ever listen dire stairts songs money for nothing sultans of swing
If you listen it you can understand what is better

146 The J. Geils Band The J. Geils Band The J. Geils Band was an American rock band formed in 1968, in Worcester, Massachusetts, under the leadership of guitarist John "J." Geils.

Another underrated band that should be higher on the list. I love these guys. One of my top bands.

Their 1970-1975 stuff is as good as it gets!

Why they down here what

These guys should be remembered for more than just "Centerfold" and "Love Stinks." Their earlier stuff, such as "Musta Got Lost" "Give it To Me" and "Whammer Jammer" ranks among some of the greatest rock I've ever heard.

147 Chicago

25 or 6 to 4; Beginnings; Colour My World; 'enough said; If listening to one of these doesn't take you back to the 70's you are either too young or too stoned back then to know GOOD music!

148 King Crimson King Crimson King Crimson is a British progressive rock band that was formed in 1969. While the band had numerous band member changes, the head of the band has always been Robert Fripp (Guitar). more.

Every time I hear the Epitaph I get chills. Could never yet enough hearing it once, I used to play it over and over. The music seems to enclose you, its absolutely beautiful.

King Crimson should definitly be in the top because they had the most unique style along with very complex music

149 Europe Europe Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm in 1979 under the name Force by vocalist Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, bassist Peter Olsson and drummer Tony Reno.

The only thing they were known for is the Final Countdown. - Gruunge

150 The Allman Brothers Band The Allman Brothers Band The Allman Brothers Band was an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1969 by brothers Duane Allman and Gregg Allman, as well as Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson.

Everyone has their opinions, but 149 on a list of greatest classic rock bands is a complete and total outrage. In my top 10 and without question are a top 25 band of all time! ( Were they omitted for some reason or by accident and later thrown in? ) Great guitar play / dual leads, great soulful voice, great lyrics, incredible rhythm section. All segments of this band are first class. They invented Southern Rock for God's sake! A true BAND in every sense. Only problem is the untimely deaths. I can only imagine the great stuff we never had the pleasure to hear from Duane Allman...

Agree entirely. Absolutely in the top 5 bands of all time. Listen to "Live at the Fillmore" and every single song is stunningly original in terms of composition, vocals, guitar, drumming, organ, etc. Truly an exceptional band.

How are they not in the top 10? Who is voting? This is the absolute best live band ever. Listen to "

Live at Fillmore East" and then tell us what you think.

151 KISS KISS Kiss is an American hard rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and the band's original manager, Lew Linet.

ARE you kidding 2012 if you didn't see kiss with ace and peter you didn't see kiss, saw kiss first time in 1974 long beach arena opened for wishbone ash and camel 30min set, the last your they opened for anyone, saw them again 1975 forum la the tour alive came from again 1977 anaheim stadium destroyer tour again 1978 love gun tour things began to fall apart after love gun until 1996 the reunion saw them in Dallas July 7 1996 the loudest crowd I ever heard ever and I've seen them all stones zep etc. The essence of kiss is ace Peter paul gene, now was magical.

This is a BULLS*** list. This band has gone strong for over 40 years. Two-thirds of the bands ahead of them were around for relatively short lengths of time. Only a few had the quality in their song catalogs, none had the stage show.

KISS is the best band to hit the stage since The Beatles! They take you to Detroit Rock City, they will Rock and Roll All Nite if you give them the chance! Hottest band in the world! Debate over

Should definitely be at number 1

152 The Beach Boys The Beach Boys The Beach Boys are an American pop rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and their friend Al Jardine.

Why are the Beach Boys so low? Their surf songs are great pop tracks, but for those who still aren't convinced, "Pet Sounds" and "SMiLE" are among the greatest albums ever. Heck, when PAUL MCCARTNEY named "God Only Knows" his favorite song, there's got to be something.

Only group to seriously challenge the Beatles at the time

Just sublime harmonys and the sound of young america in the 60's.
With God only know's one of the simplest and greatest love songs ever

153 Chickenfoot
154 Montrose

First album, one the best ever ever ever, still holds up today.

155 Asia

REALLY great band that still has the 80s rock sound in 2016. A must listen

156 Manowar Manowar Manowar is an American heavy metal band from New York City, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy and mythology.
157 John Cougar Mellencamp

I love this guy! He has great music and some of his songs, like Rain on the Scarecrow, are based on his own life. He should be higher on the list.

158 The Moody Blues The Moody Blues The Moody Blues are an English rock band. They first came to prominence playing rhythm and blues music, but their second album, Days of Future Passed, which was released in 1967, was a fusion of rock with classical music and established them as pioneers in the development of art rock and progressive more.

The Moody Blues have been going strong from 1966 to the present day. They have led the pack in musical style and in making their own music. They have taught me much about the world and life and how it works. I've met my best friends because of the link we fans have because of this band. They have a nearly sold out cruise coming up in March, fastest selling boat ever. :) They deserve to be #1!

Criminally under-rated in my opinion. The Core 7 albums from 67-73 were amazing, but Bluejays, Octave, Long Distance Voyager and Strange Times are not so far behind them, and even the weaker albums (The Present, Keys of the Kingdom and December) are far stronger than most could ever manage to produce (the two singles aside, even I wouldn't shout about The Other Side of Life and Sur la Mer).

"Never comes the day" was the beginning and today it is still as beautiful as then. When Justin sings "if only... " the earth stops turning and hold his breath. Only a few days and then... Spirits of the Western sky! My ears are waiting and my heart too. Justin Hayward... What a man!

The Moodies never made me blue. Always sounded great in concert.
