Hardest Songs to Play on Guitar

The Contenders: Page 4

61 Plug in Baby - Muse
62 Forty Six and Two - Tool

It sounds easy, it looks easy, but it is a LIVING NIGHTMARE FROM HELL. I can play Technical Difficulties, Holy Wars, Hangar 18, AND Tornado of Souls (and for the noobs out there, one and eruption). But this song is the dumbest thing in the world. See, it may not have solos, but the structure is bizarre and there's too many variations on one riff. It's like the Holy Wars intro on steroids. Seriously, if you don't belive me, go try to learn it. Don't take any short cuts, just learn it riff by riff. You will die.

63 Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix
64 Soothsayer - Buckethead

It's hard to play because of all the times when he uses his unique killswitch during the song to make soothsayer... soothsayer

65 Shyboy - David Lee Roth
66 Stranglehold - Ted Nugent
67 Operation Ground and Pound - Dragonforce
68 Torn Between Scylla And Charybdis - Trivium
69 Freak Show Excess - Steve Vai
70 Electric Eye - Judas Priest
71 Nottingham Lace - Buckethead

Great composition.. Full of emotion.. Fast and fantastic.. Buckethead is just amazing.. He's the best guitarist but is clearly underrated.

72 Hatebreeder - Children of Bodom

One of the most underrated songs out there. Lots of speed picking and sweeps and the whole song is generally extremely hard to play.

73 Inside the Fire - Disturbed
74 Hangar 18 - Megadeth
75 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

The solo isn't hard, its advanced but not the way over the top

Incredibly easy to play song in my opinion. Still badass song, and people think you're actually good if you play it.

This solo was hard for its time. Still its not very easy to play. Especially few licks of this song requires a lot of practice. (the non-plagiarized part). The rip off part is quite easy. - zxm

This song isn't as hard as it sounds.
The first few chords are a little stretchy, but it's easy to get. The first two acoustic parts can be a little hard to get, then a power chord, and easy major/ minor chords, then a solo, not the hardest song, the first song I learned on acoustic. - Plonderss

76 The Lemon Song - Led Zeppelin
77 Para Mexer - Animals as Leaders
78 A Late Summer's Rain/schizophrenia - John Petrucci

The most shredtastic song on the planet. Just listen to the whole thing. Starts out soft and builds up to an extremely intense shred!
