Top 10 Best Harry Potter Battle Scenes
Harry Potter has some intense and awesome battle scenes, and here are the best. One of the few things the movie did better than the book was their duel at the Battle of Hogwarts. In the book, it was mostly words and a brief collision of Expelliarmus and Avada Kedavra that lasted maybe a page. The movie version, however, had them scrambling, countering, even kicking and hitting, until they reached the courtyard and let out that wizard lightning battle we all love. Also, Voldemort's death was much cooler.
The super intense, climactic battle that ends the franchise is just the most intense scene of the series.
It's an intense, exciting, and fun battle, and they fly. But it's so sad because Hedwig dies.
Amazing. The two most powerful wizards of the century battle it out at the Ministry. I love it when Dumbledore did that thing with the water. Even in the book, when Dumbledore used the statues, it was still really cool.
The two greatest wizards of all time face off in a duel with advanced spells and brisk wand movements.
It was something amazing. The battle showed how brave Dumbledore was. Love it... The best one.
Four of the books are tied for my favorite, and so are three of the movies, but The Chamber of Secrets is a book I came back to again and again (maybe because it's one of the ones I own), and the movie as well. This scene is gory but epic!
The confrontation with Tom Riddle brings this massive creature, and Harry, with a sword, battles the Basilisk, which looks like a water dragon. I'm in.
This one is good because it shows the real six, and it has a death. There's tension, but the main reason it's significant is that it outlines the importance of Dumbledore's Army.
This is the cool battle. Good vs. Evil, Light vs. Dark, Death Eaters and the Order! This one is the best!
Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, both book and movie. Super cool.
This was the first encounter and fight (I think) between Harry and Voldemort, which also leads to the heartbreaking scene when Cedric's father finds his son dead.
I just thought it was amazingly played out.
I loved this because I never thought Molly would win this fight while watching it for the first time. I'm glad she finally got a moment in the spotlight.
Molly and Bellatrix dueled, and Molly won. She killed Bellatrix because Bellatrix tried to kill Ginny with the Killing Curse.
I didn't like how the movie cut out the part when Harry was apologizing and in hysterics. It makes it seem more like he intended to hurt Malfoy, which he didn't.
Draco Malfoy gave the best performance in this film. When Harry almost killed Draco and he was on the floor with blood, I was sad.
Yeah, I agree with keycha1n. They shouldn't have cut that part.
This duel was not only a turning point for the Battle of Hogwarts, but it also showed the power of McGonagall, full of strength and determination. This underrated duel is definitely one of my favorite scenes in the whole series.
This one is particularly interesting because Snape isn't really battling. Snape isn't evil. He's more defending himself.
The Newcomers
How was this not on the list already?
I like when Malfoy summons a snake, and when Lockhart tries to vanish it, the snake instead flies 20 feet in the air.
I like when Malfoy summons the snake at Harry, and then when Lockhart tries to vanish it, the snake just gets flung 20 feet in the air.
Dobby says this is the best because Dobby shows them baddies who's boss, sir. But Dobby is a sad elf, sir, because Dobby dies, sir. But Dobby dies a free elf, sir, so that is good, sir. Dobby would like to say thank you to Molly Weasley, sir, for the great deed she did, sir.
That scene where Bellatrix was torturing Hermione and Dobby returns was awesome. Too bad Dobby dies.
This may have been one of the shortest battles in the series, but the build-up, choreography, score, and sheer creativity were terrific. I personally found it terrifying to watch and contemplate. I had read the book, so I knew what was going to happen, yet it was still terrifying. The fight was so fast-paced that it was almost incredible to see a snake be badass enough to hide inside a human, calculatively lure two wizards into a trap, and then fight them off so easily. You might think that the battle with the Basilisk was cool, but this fight truly represented the creative genius that is J.K. Rowling.
I love it when Bellatrix starts mocking Harry, and when the Burrow gets burned, things get real.
This battle is the best in the franchise. The trio used what they learned to fight their way through the courtyard, escaping giants and fighting dementors. Also, the score is beautiful!
