The Top Ten
It's about suicide, and it reminds Chester about his past of sexual abuse and drug addiction. - lukestheman4
It really isn't about moving on (at least not in a positive way). "I don't know how I got this way, I'll never be alright, so I'm breaking the habits." This song is about not having a way out besides suicide...
Reminds Chester of what he used to do and he's left them all aside and decides to move on
This is a beautiful song about many things/ the most prominent of which are suicide and addiction.
I think it's about letting out everything that haunted you, everything that bothered you, getting rid of every lie, everything that you had to take and moving on...
It's about taking lies and disceit from inside yourself and getting rid of it. - lukestheman4
This song is the best song by far!
should be number 1 by far, not just parents expectations, thats only a small fraction of what this songs meaning although very much apart of it. take every lyric one by one and it could be anything from the pressure from a boy/girlfriend to being used
"I am tired of being what you want me to be". That says it all. There comes a point of time in our lives when we realize that we are just not being what we are and merely being what others want us to be. Opens your eyes really. LP 4evr! - hanaan143
Greatest song this band made. The emotional depth is astounding
"Don't be afraid
I've taken my beating
I've shared what I've made
I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you"
These lines very much sum up why this song has a huge impact on any average person...
Its about accepting the weaknesses and mistakes and asking people to forgive when You're gone..
It's about being remembered for the good things you did and not the bad. - lukestheman4
I <3 this song it means a lot to me I have been listening to it 4 ever
It shows how you can’t waste your life on meaningless things or people, only on your life and the improvement of that
It's saying that if you grow up different, you will want to go far away from your position, making you get carried aways with it. One day you see it's not worth it.
It's about realizing that no matter how hard you try something it doesn't matter. - lukestheman4
It is about growing up and how child hood doesn't matter any more or how when you do drugs life and what you do with it seems to not matter anymore no matter what you do with it
This song is about when Chester used to be addicted to drugs to escape the pain and insecurities he felt after being sexually abused. "I've felt this way before, so insecure" (self explanatory- being abused has made him become insecure about himself) "crawling in my skin, these wounds they will not heal" the drugs make it seem as if something is crawling inside of him, and his emotional wounds from his childhood will not heal. "Fear is how I fall, confusing what is real" drugs helped him with his fears, and they caused him to hallucinate (so he literally confuses what is real)
It's about insecurity and sexual abuse. - lukestheman4

You guys are idiots. I know every song meaning by lp

This song mean to me in a different way.. I suffer from severe social anxiety disorder and my thoghts exactly fit to the lyrics.. I think how much I want to be a normal person and be happy but because of my own fault I can't never feel the real happiness in my life.
I suffer from the same thing and this song perfectly describes how I feel.
It's about trying to fit in. - lukestheman4
This song reminds me of my past
It has a very close relation with my life. This definitely should be number 1.
It's a great song about the power of life. And that it's never quite the end, it's only the beginning of something new. And though it may not be easy to get to that start, it's an amazing thing when you reach it.
It's about no matter how much the world and yourself changes, you can still find yourself. - lukestheman4
For me this song will be always the number one... "All I want to do is trade this life for something new, holding onto what I haven't got"
This basically describes myself
"the hardest part of ending is starting again "do I have to say any more?
This song has a very deep meaning and a very good one about what war does not only, to soldiers but to the citizens of the country who's fighting the war.
I think this songs meaning is fairly obvious if you've heard it and should definitely be in the top 5
If you haven't year heard this song whilst reading the lyrics, y'all don't know how magical Linkin Park can be!
I think Breaking The Habit and Numb are the top of this list but this one should be at least #3 it's meaningful so I voted for it!
Reminding us of what we've done to the world of bad things, beautiful.
My top 4 favourite songs from Linking Park
This song is about abuse, as Chester was sexually abused as a child.
Something has been taken from deep inside of me
A secret I've kept locked away, no one can ever see (this means that he tried to keep it bottled up inside)
Wounds so deep they never show, they never go away
Like moving pictures in my head for years and years they've played (this shows how he can't get the thoughts of it out of his head and it haunts him)
Sometimes I remember the darkness of my past
Bringing back these memories I wish I didn't have (self-explanatory)
Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back and never moving forward so there'd never be a past (he's willing to kill himself just to escape from the pain)
Just washing it aside, all of the helplessness inside
Pretending I don't feel misplaced is so much simpler than change (he wants to pretend it never happened so he doesn't have to change anything)
The weight of the past being driven forward, crashing into your soul over and over again. To run or hide from the past, from people who continue to disappoint.
It's about doing bad things in your past that come back to haunt you. - lukestheman4
Very deep and powerful track - underrated by far
I like the small looking girl.
Sometimes sollutions aren't so simple <3 Sometimes goodbye the only way
This song has the best meaning in all of the Linkin Park songs. This song is about death. How someone is about to die and is remembering his days with his friends. This is the best song ever please vote for this to make it the number 1
Probably one of the best songs for anyone in a time of need. - Drewstar
Probably the best song I've ever heard
Why isn't this number 1 it's so amazing the song is about begging god for forgiveness for a past sin this is such an amazing song
Great song, don’t know how it didn’t make it
If this was a single it'd be way up there. It's being rejected by society and wanting to get away from it all.
This is the song that every person in the world need.
This song is about someone who doesn't have self confidence, that found someone who they can cling onto, that would do anything to keep that person around. Eventually they get fed up with being taken advantage of by the person they chose to cling on to.
Shouldn't this be higher up? The lyrics are so deep, along with the amazing beat.
I feel like this has a deep meaning, one about abuse. Why wasn't this on the list?
Written about the indifference of the Bush govt. towards the victims of the hurricane Katrina, the lyrics of this beautiful ballad are such that they can make you remember a broken relationship with someone you used to love, or still do.
It can as well be taken to be a song about unrequited love:
"Don't wanna reach for me, do you? I mean nothing to you."
Features a haunting guitar solo that will make anybody break and tear up. Also, one of Chester's greatest vocal performances.
Lyrics of this song always heal me when I think about lots of decisions, choices and changes that I could make but I didn't.
This song has so much meaning. Should be in the top 10
