Top 10 Things Fandoms Should Stop Doing

Engaging in moral grandstanding over fictional characters
If you simply dislike a character because they're badly written or poorly acted, that's fine. Nothing inherently wrong with that. However, expecting every fictional character to be a moral saint is reductive and redundant. Art is always going to have morally grey characters to some extent, and to get upset because a fictional medium has morally grey characters is juvenile. If you dislike the characters because of how a certain subject matter is depicted, that's valid. But I've seen people get into debates over the morality of certain fictional characters way too often, and it's excessive.
Villains are often the most interesting characters.

Getting triggered if a favorite ship isn't canon
You do not want to know about the early Harry Potter ship wars. One Big Happy Weasley Family referred to the canon ships we now know. Ship names included Heron, The Good Ship, and We Believe in Trees for Ron/Hermione, and Orange Crush for Harry/Ginny. Pumpkin Pie and Harmony referred to Harry/Hermione.

Selfshipping with characters who are rapists
Oh, YIKES. I knew that some people self-shipped with actual IRL murderers and creepypasta characters, but I never imagined that people would do something this extreme and unorthodox. I'm sure it must be a tiny subsection of extremists, but this definitely sounds alarming, to say the least.
