Top 10 Best Non-Melodic Death Metal Albums

This is just a personal opinion, but I think Melodic Death Metal diverged from Death Metal more and more and now sounds like its very own steady genre and not like a subgenre of Death Metal in most cases.

So here is a list of bands who play genuine Death Metal, strongly rooted in the old Death Metal sound and keeping its brutality.

ALLOWED:
- Old-School Death Metal
- Brutal Death Metal (including Slam)
- Technical Death Metal
- Deathgrind/Goregrind
- Death/Thrash Metal
- Blackened Death Metal
- Death/Doom Metal

Also, some bands like Dismember play Old-School Death Metal with occasional melodic parts while still being pure Death Metal. This is of course allowed.

NOT ALLOWED:
- Melodic Death Metal
- Everything else not Death Metal related

Also, be careful with Progressive Death Metal bands. Many are labeled this way but are actually Progressive Melodic Death Metal. The word "Melodic" is often left out because the name is very long.

So bands like Opeth, who are obviously very melodic, are not allowed in this list, while bands like Horrendous, who play in the vein of late-era Death, are allowed.

   This is the death metal classic. This should be number 1 in my opinion.

    Colossal album! Superb riffs and great brutality. If you like death metal you definitely need to listen to this.

    Incredible technical death metal. When you get to know that the band members were around 16 years old when they recorded this masterpiece, it's even more incredible.

16. Kill - Cannibal Corpse

    

    Underrated, amazing death metal album.

    This is a true death metal classic. Immolation are thrashing with such intensity in eight songs of pure brutality throughout this album. The typical atonal and dissonant riffs of Immolation give this an extra awesome death metal tone.
