Top 10 Most Meaningful Songs

This list is based off of pure meaning and lyric's that go deep into your soul.

The Top Ten Most Meaningful Songs

1 Imagine - John Lennon

This is for sure the most meaningful song on the list. If you imagine the world that we live in like the world John Lennon is telling us to imagine it like, its perfect. The world that we live in is cruel, full of hate, racism, murder, and war. The world that John Lennon sings is tells us how we should want the world to be. In his song there is world peace, and everyone is living together as one people sharing the world. If you listen to the song and imagine the world how he says you would know that I'm right. R.I.P. John Lennon

It's realistic, overall something people need to realize. It covers violence issue and I don't understand while people judge, this will go into that also, it's more then just a songs it's a meaningful poem about realistic life things.

Penis is good

Simply put, this belongs at number 1. United Humanity is the most far-fetched, insane idea, we have ever considered. Yet there is nothing else that could help us as a species more.

2 How to Save a Life - The Fray

I really love this song. I've suffered with depression for four years and nobody believes that I do so I can't get help. I've thought about committing suicide more times than I can count and this song, as well as music in general, made me want to live. I credit this song with saving my life.

This song has got me through some dark times over the years especially when I want to kill myself and when no one believed nor cared that I was suffering depression. I would put this song on repeat while I slept and in the morning I would feel happy. The lyrics are so powerful.

I felt something deep about this song just by listening to it. Then I looked up the lyric meanings and boy was I moved. The writing is just heart wrenching and makes you question your existence as a friend or relative. Although I've never had any substance-abused friends, I feel ashamed for having looked down on and isolating people who I've met and have been addicts. Also, this song doesn't just apply to drug addiction, it can be for almost anything that someone can't help doing and others don't approve of. Ah! Made my day. Plays on repeat.

My mom thought it was just another song that I like until I looked up the meaning. She sings it. It gets stuck in her head. She cries often when she hears it. We both love it. Immediately, I got the album of of Amazon. The lead singer worked at a troubled youth camp as a counselor, and talked to one of the boys. The boy admitted that he lost a friend, but didn't know how to save his life, otherwise he would've. Such a bold meaning.

3 Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

Yes please. This song is so true. If you just don't know what to do and you're walking down the path of destiny with no one to guide you, no one beside you and you're lost, then this song is for you. When you lose hope and everything seems to be going wrong, listen to this song and you'll relate. You'll know you're not alone, that there are people who understand out there. Who knows, maybe someday you'll find someone who understand you and accept you for who you are. That is what this song stands for, what it preaches. And it doesn't hurt that the beat and tune of this song are addicting. I love this song so much. It deserves a much higher ranking.

Amazing song. Why isn't this in top 10? I'm disappointed with you guys.

I mean it's Green Day... and this is definitely one of there best songs. Lyrical depth that really puts in words the feeling of being lost in life alone and confused not knowing where to go or what to do. It's a song that I feel everyone can relate to at least a little bit at some point in their life and that really comes with a sense of understanding. It's just a good song that is great to listen to at any time. 10 out of 10 for sure. If you haven't listened to it you need to.

Best. Song. Ever! My favorite song of all time!

4 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

Just beautiful. As a kid, I don't understand it fully, but enough to realize how meaningful it is.

I played this song on the guitar because it's a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very good song.

Demi lovato should have died, change my mind.

Although I do agree with Imagine as being number 1 this should defiantly be second, this song is beautiful and full of meaning a master piece I would say.

5 Angel - Jackie Evancho

Pretty heavy stuff for the young lady but she melts your heart when she sings it. - BobG

This is not her song. It is from the soundtrack of "City of Angels." The song was performed by Sarah McLachlan. - sray

This song comes into my head regularly,
Jackie's version is outstanding!

Great song sung by the most beautiful voice in the world. Jackie is now only 15 what great thing will she do in the next 5 to 10 years? Wait and see.

Sarah may have performed it first, but Jackie owns this song now. Play the two different versions against each other on youtube and you'll know it's true.

6 Radioactive - Imagine Dragons

Radioactive is a great song. Very relatable. Imagine Dragons is an underrated band. They incorporate so much meaning into their songs. In this song, the meaning is loud and clear. And the way they've presented it and the dark yet somewhat upbeat rhythm compliments the song well. One of the songs I like best by them is Monster. Now that should be in the Top 10 of this list. Like the line 'If I told you what I was, would you turn your back on me? ' and the paragraph

'Can I clear my conscience, if I'm different from the rest/Do I have to run and hide? /I never said that I want this/ This burden came to me/ And it's made its home inside.

And their beats and rhythm and overall vibe is just so great. I like how much meaning is put into the lyrics, that's what I like best about this band.

The lyrics to this song have so much depth, just by reading them anyone can see the message that is ment to get across. Its intense!

Love this song. Imagine dragons put meaningful messages in the songs. The beat is fantastic and it gets stuck in my head all day.

From a musical perspective, this band (Imagine Dragons) does a remarkable job of: incorporating the bass, changing dynamic (how loud a section is played) and emphasizing parts of this song. It gets your heart racing, and urges you to turn it up loud. This is exactly what a revolution should do. Kudos

7 2 Become 1 - Spice Girls

Heck yeah bros

Spicegirls yas queen

I hate it reee

8 Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson

It just gives one of the greatest messages of life, "change yourself and the world will look a better place"

It's about how we must work together, one by one, to save out beautiful home, our very own planet, the one and only Earth, from ourselves, but not only that, but how we must be unselfish and assist those who require assistance. That's how I interpret it, but if you have a different opinion, that's okay and I invite you to share it.

Energy combined with love, honesty and good will. After the very beginning, striking with decency, he starts praying in remorse, shouting for justice and ends in intimacy. I love it!

To me this is the most meaningful song in the world because it is true everybody talks about how much people have hurt the world but no one ever looks at themselves first before anyone else and I always cry listening to this song

9 Skyscraper - Demi Lovato

She has so much emotions thought all of her songs! She is so amazing. Try listening to her new song called warrior. That's song is so meaningful, it's amazing.

She is AMAZING! She shows so much thought and emotions by simply singing a song, and she pleases everyone with the meaning and true passion she shows. I just LOVE her! :)!

Absolutely incredible. Shes incredible.

This singed helped me get through depression and I got so much bullied everyday and punched once I got rocks suck in bad places so I got more confident and em proved my life SO MUCH! So all thanks to Demi I'm all better. I have 7 friends who stand by me always. And this might sound very very very very very very very crazy but people who are depressed it gets a lot lot lot lot better if you listen to Green Day Demi lovato and Avril lavinge and draw write poems about your feelings and write music OR talk to relatives it will get better very fast. Oh also keep ALL KNIVES AWAY FROM U!

The Newcomers

? Live Like You Were Dying - Tim McGraw

The Contenders

11 Wings - Macklemore

This Song is more than beautiful and it shows off how cruel society became. Everybody cares about being popular and rich even though that's totally not important. Great lyrics.

This Song is more than beautiful and it shows off how cruel society became. Everybody cares about being popular and rich even though that's totally not important. Great lyrics.

This song is great Because what he's singing about is true I've been through things like that and I think it should be a bit higher on the list

I've loved this song for so long and every time I listen to the lyrics of the song it shows me so many point of this century and memories of me trying to fit in and now that I actually have good shoes I notice that they are not why I have friends

The very first time I listened to this song, I was also watching the video. I cried. This song is so emotional and it shows just how screwed up society has become. I think this song should've been more up on the list.

This song is great Becuse what he's singing about is true I've been through things like that and I think it should be a bit higher on the list

This song is just so meaningful, you really have to listen and shut everyone out to be able to understand what he means

At age 14 Jackie sang "Somewhere" at the National Memorial Day concert in DC. It was a poignant and profound performance that left many in tears. - BobG

14 What a Wonderful World - Jackie Evancho

This has touched my heart

Crazy inspiring

15 Seize the Day - Avenged Sevenfold

Their songs are the best. I promise you that there are not like others, they're unique in their way. The first time I heard this song was a few years ago and I instantly fell in love with even though I don't like the genre. But as I listen to it more, I realised that bands like them write good lyrics. Some of them help people who are in suicidal.

Amazing song... Should be a lot higher... - sam117

Time is the only thief we can get justice against. This song taught me to SEIZE THE DAY

One of the best A7x songs, listen to it when I'm down and it helps

16 Mrs. Potato Head - Melanie Martinez

It's a wonderful song and has such a strong and powerful meaning. It relates to our society today and teaches that you shouldn't get plastic surgery!

Okay, so this song. WOW. It has some meaning behind it. "Kids forever baby soft skin turns into leather don't be dramatic it's only some plastic no one will love you if you're unattractive" Dang, that's heavy. Okay like it's true, and by the way her whole album "Crybaby" is AWESOME! Highly recommended both this song and the whole album.

I have been listening to this song for years and every song of hers uses a child toy or game or something like that and puts a really deep meaning into it.

A very meaningful song that really applies to our society today, and makes an impact.

17 Never Too Late - Three Days Grace

This song is very emotional and touching of course to those that have a heart. It is also very comforting and I can just remember listening to this song when I was very much younger and it can still make me cry today.

I think this song should be a lot higher. It has given many people hope when they felt like they had none left.

Such an emotional songs... one of my all time absolute favorites

"Even if I say it'll be alright
Still I hear you say you want to end your life
Now and again we try to just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around cause it's not too late
It's never too late

The world we knew won't come back
The time we've lost
Can't get back
The life we had won't be ours again"

I've never felt so inspired from a song.

18 Fiction - Avenged Sevenfold

Last words written and sang by the man called Jimmy O'Sullivan before he died. Respect

19 American Pie - Don McLean

Many people don't realize what event this song refers to, and they don't realize what this song is about, and how sad it actually is.

So many references, which when thought upon, has (to many people) a lot of truth. All of this is beautifully conducted within a melodic song

This song is about the accident of three great singers, The Big Bopper, Buddy Holly, and Ritchie Valens. It's really good!

I am ashamed of this list. This should be much higher. The fact that this list is filled with Michael Jackson and this is only at 46 is awful.

20 'Til Summer Comes Around - Keith Urban
21 Clocks - Coldplay

A beautiful song with lyrics that are more than skin deep... With hidden meanings and a melody that is hauntingly beautiful, this song should be higher up on the list

Mesmerizing, beautiful piece of artwork

22 Goner - Twenty ├śne Pilots

I'm a goner
Somebody catch my breath
I'm a goner
Somebody catch my breath

I wanna be known
By you
I wanna be known
By you

I'm a goner
Somebody catch my breath
I'm a goner
Somebody catch my breath

I wanna be known
By you
I wanna be known
By you

Though I'm weak
And beaten down
I'll slip away
Into the sound

The ghost of you
Is close to me
I'm inside out
You're underneath

I've got two faces
Blurry's the one I'm not
I've got two faces
Blurry's the one I'm not

I need your help to
Take him out
I need your help to
Take him out

Though I'm weak
And beaten down
I'll slip away
Into the sound

The ghost of you
Is close to me
I'm inside out
You're underneath

Though I'm weak
And beaten down
I'll slip away
Into the sound

The ghost of you
Is close to me
I'm inside out
You're underneath

Don't let me be ...more

A lot of emotion has gone into this song, I dearly wish it was higher on the list, way higher than Icarly or Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. Every time I listen to this song, the lyrics and Tyler Joseph's gets me

This song has a lot of meaning to me and plenty others. It gives purpose to many people and without it I don't know where I and a few others would be today.

Definitely should be higher up

23 Hell Above - Pierce the Veil

Pierce the veil really put meaning into their lyrics and express their feelings through songs, I hate it when people put labels such as 'emo or goth or screamo' if they listened to what the music were about then they'd actually understand.

This band makes music that's relatable unlike other artists such a Justin beiber or Nikki minaj, no disrespect but what's so special about the words 'baby baby baby oh like baby baby baby oh' and Nikki's lyrics 'beez in the trap bee beez in the trap' like what do they even mean?

They've helped so many people through so much it's unbelievable and they don't follow society's idea of perfect or normal and that encourages people all over the world to speak up and not be afraid to be themselves and not be ashamed of who they are, in my eyes Pierce The Veil are true idols and heroes...

Pierce The Veil is a very inspiring band. They helped me through a lot in the past and they deserve to be voted. I will never stop listening to them. And for the people who judge rock/metal, it isn't "screamo" you don't even listen to the lyrics. Those lyrics speak out to people who are going through what the song is describing. Don't judge what you don't understand.

Not only is Pierce The Veil an amazing band, they're all really down to Earth. I met them at the World Tour, and they did great live. This song was the opener and it was amazing live. You could tell this song held a special place to Vic (The lead singer if some of you don't know) and that's honestly the best part about the band. It's wonderful knowing these words hold a meaning to them, and that we can all relate to them in one way or another. Never judge Pierce The Veil by their style, they're one of a kind.

Pierce the veil is a very expressive band and all their songs have some type of meaning behind them and if you look past all the "emo" and "screamo" parts you will see the beauty behind it all and if you have no idea who they are you are missing out on a lot of good and meaningful songs. 24 Beautiful Soul - Jesse McCartney
25 Family Portrait - Pink

This is a very emotional song about families and arguments between parents
I'm sure it will relate to a lot of people

When I listened to the lyrics of this song, it made me cry. I have been going through similar issues, my parents constantly fighting, and it's clear that don't love each other anymore. My brothers and I are the only thing keeping them together and I just want to be a happy family again.

This is the most meaningful song it share things that kids go through all the time the struggles they face

This really talks about the struggles in a family that clearly doesn't love anymore. Very touching.

30 Changes - 2Pac

I can't believe this is only 30. It's a very meaningful song and you don't have to have the same background as Tupac to understand and appreciate this AMAZING song.

You don't have to have the same background as Tupac to appreciate the narrative he creates. His lyrics dropkick you to the scene of his frustration. Looking at both the internal and external causes of the issues he wars against, makes this song approachable regardless of your political affiliation. There's something in this song for everyone.

43 ONLY! Tupac is the father of Rap and this song conveys such a STRONG message. You don't have to like rap to like this song, it's absolutely AMAZING. KILLUMINATI

This is an incredible song describing the faults in the world and changes we need in order to correct these faults. I hope people listen to this song and begin to understand where he's coming from. Its also just a really nice song to listen to in general.

33 Earth Song - Michael Jackson

We gotta stop killing things.. And thatz what the song is all about...

Level of awesomeness is at its apex!

This song explains how the world is falling apart as we know it, and it's all our fault. Worst part is that we are completely oblivious of what we are doing.

The worst part is the fact that we DO know what we are doing, and have done, yet we don't stop.

One of the most meaningful song I've ever listening to

This song truly makes me feel that God is up above there in heaven. Michael was an instrument of nature, a prophet in music. He even said that he remembers praying to God and thanking him for putting this wonderful melody in his head. This song proves that love conquers all, and that it is "the greatest gift of all."

I listen to all types of music and can't remember one song that brought more people together to sing as one voice for one reason the betterment of every man woman & child on earth

Everyone came together for a meaningful reasoning at that moment nothing mattered about what that celebrity did or what they represents its just that feeling of love that mattered

45 Because of You - Kelly Clarkson

Very meaningful should be number 1

46 Lose Yourself - Eminem

I think that there should be the whole song and that there should be a number 1

Genius in every way. How is this #32? Definitely deserves top ten if not number one.
Eminem is a lyrical genius and he sure does know how to bring a song together.

Lyrically amazing, Eminem doesn't waste time and says exactly what he wants to say. His lyrics talk about how hard his life back in Detroit was and how he has one shot to live a better life

This song has gotten me through my hardest times. Eminem definitely knows how to bring the tears out of me in the realest way possible.

47 They Don't Care About Us - Michael Jackson

This song just shows that no matter what they say (the government) they care for no-one. Don't trust politicians, and don't trust easily.
