Pure genius. His vocal range is amazing and writes amazing music. Can't believe I only started listening to him this year, wish I've listened to him sooner!

So sad that he is no longer with us. Always thought he got overshadowed by the Beatles and the Stones but he definitely has his place in music history, too.

He is amazing he is already really famous but on many singers listes he is like in one hundredth when he should be in top 15 -

He predicted the future of the internet. Genius.

He is really popular. I don't know what is his name doing in here

It's really quite simple to explain how JT's name got on this list. In typical Top Ten fashion, the voters ignored the category and voted for their favorite singer. Most of the artists in this Top 20 are anything but underrated.

He's very versatile, and has an amazing falsetto. - ilovekelly75

25 John Mayer John Mayer

John Mayer is a genius. He is an amazing guitarist and his songs are great. I don't know why he is so underrated. Also I don't understand why Ed Sheeran is in this list because he is one of the most listened artists today. I love both these artists, but I think, John Mayer should be given more attention than what he is. He has only 500K+ subscibers in his Vevo whereas Ed Sheeran has millions. So Ed Sheeran is no where near underrated. He shouldn't be in this list. But I personally think that John Mayer should be one of the top 5 people in this list because he is underrated as hell and people should realize it. He deserves better.

I will absolutely agree John Mayer is underrated, especially as a guitar player. I looked at Rolling Stone's list of 100 best guitarists, and was floored that Mayer wasn't on it, although they did have him talking about other guitarists. Best guitar player of this generation, and I don't think it's even close.

John Mayer should definitely be placed within the top 5 artists in the list. He is not just an amazing singer and a skillful guitarist. He is a profound lyricist as well. Yet many of his songs like 'slow dancing in a burning room' and 'in your atmosphere' remain under-appreciated. Such a shame!

We love you john!

She has problems live, but when she's good she's the best, she can go from a high pitched barbie voice to a dark alluring seductive voice, she's also pretty good emoting with her voice only, Shades Of Cool is strikingly sad because of the emotion on her voice. - LukeTargaryen

Lana is such an amazing singer, and such a power songstress. She writes her own music, and puts all she has in to her. Her music is so pushed aside as is she, but she really deserves some recognition.

Her songs are just gorgeous and her voice has a lot or ranges it can go from angelic high pitched to low pitched.

I love this one but barely anyone's heard her

37 Mike Patton Mike Patton Michael Allan "Mike" Patton is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, film composer, producer, and actor, best known as the lead singer of the alternative metal band Faith No More.

All I have to say is, you won't find a vocalist as diverse, as bizarre in style and dynamic vocally as Mike Patton. Excellent vocal chops combined with an off-the-walls weirdness. No album this guy is on is the same from a vocal standpoint. Something completely different each time. Best work is definitely on Faith No More's Angel Dust and Mr. Bungle's California.

The guy's got a six-octave vocal range. But it's a shame that Faith No More only had one big hit.
