Best Scenes from Ice Age, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, and Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Personally, Ice Age is Blue Sky's greatest achievement, with several memorable scenes to boot. From funny to scary to downright amazing, these scenes have stuck with me for many years.
This is my personal favorite scene in all of Ice Age. It's probably the most intense, and that's no surprise. It has extremely well-orchestrated music, an intense and cool atmosphere, and funny jokes.
My personal favorite joke is when he demonstrates how he escaped Rudy's mouth while not actually holding onto anything. It has a downright incredible spirit of adventure that sticks with you and unlocks childhood ambitions. Best scene in Ice Age by far - it really built the characters of both Buck and Rudy.
This is 100% the funniest scene in the Ice Age franchise. The first time I saw this, I laughed so hard my whole face hurt. Everything culminates so well in this scene, and it must be applauded.
The stupidity of both the Dodos and Sid, the numerous dark but funny deaths, and the zany action sequences are great. The final touchdown by Sid made me absolutely lose it.
The scene in which Sid and Manny try making shelters is so simple, yet effective. It's where the characters are fleshed out the most, and the different ways they overcome problems and survive out in the wild. It's also very funny.
While personally, Ice Age isn't amazing when it comes to making a satisfying climax, Ice Age 3 is one of the few exceptions. Basically, all my comments to Buck's backstory apply here, especially the amazing 3D animation and spirit of adventure that really hits home.
A hilarious sequence where Buck tries to explain what could have happened to Sid while getting it wrong every single time. Then, he explains how he lost his mind (it includes an ugly pineapple).
The most zany scene in all of Ice Age. Great music and animation. The craziness just builds and builds before all sense of logic goes out the window, and we get a fast-paced thrill ride.
While I personally find Ice Age: The Meltdown to be one of the more forgettable installments, it doesn't mean it's not without its charm. The first scene is very exciting, fun, and generally jolly.
The scariest scene in all of Ice Age. There's something very off-putting about seeing all the places our heroes were at being completely destroyed. Coupled with Manny and Diego's desperate search for Ellie and the rush of all the animals in the land trying to get onto the boat... for all we know, not all of them may have been able to make it.
My favorite character, of course, gets a funny and grand entrance. It really shows how epic and deranged his character is.
Of course, the very first scene in the whole franchise had to be on this list. Not only did it open a great franchise, but it also showcased the clever writing and hilarious tone of the first three Ice Age films. Especially with the hilarious roasts that Manny pulls off in the first few minutes.
