Top Ten Best Albums of 1969
The Top Ten
1 King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
One of the most important prog albums ever recorded, and definitely one of the best albums of 1969.
2 The Beatles - Abbey Road
3 The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
Just the best...Who does not think "Gimme Shelter" is one of the great songs ever
4 Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II
5 Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
6 Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
7 The Who - Tommy
8 Pink Floyd - More
9 The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground
10 Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Trout Mask Replica
Ahead of its time. Any experimental rock artist probably loves this album and was influenced by it.
The Contenders
11 Miles Davis - In a Silent Way
12 Pink Floyd - Ummagumma
13 Green River - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Creedence Clearwater Revival released three albums in 1969, all of which I like. Thing is, though, I like this one the best.
Abbey Road and Let it Bleed, but this is criminally low. Easily number 3 or 4 of the year.
In the Court and Abbey Road and then this one... in that order.
14 David Bowie - Space Oddity
15 The Stooges - The Stooges
16 Creedence Clearwater Revival - Willy and the Poor Boys
17 The Kinks - Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire)
18 Yes - Yes
19 Bob Dylan - Nashville Skyline
20 Santana - Santana
21 Neil Young - Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Cinnamon Girl and Down By The River are on this. How isn't it at least number 10?
22 Genesis - From Genesis to Revelation
23 Crosby, Stills & Nash - Crosby, Stills & Nash
24 Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left
25 Elvis Presley - From Elvis in Memphis
