Top 10 Best Bathory Albums
Great album. Very heavy, with nice keyboard elements.
In my opinion, this album marginally eclipses Blood Fire Death. It is much heavier and darker, featuring the trademark 'horrible' black metal production. For starters, I'd recommend listening to Blood Fire Death and then working your way backward.
One of the best albums.
The best Bathory album, along with Twilight of the Gods.
Easily their best, in my opinion. The influence of Motörhead and Venom is profound here.
This album is ridiculously underrated.
It isn't as inferior as it's made out to be. In fact, I find it a tad more enjoyable and memorable than all of their Viking-era outputs. This is a very influential record that began sliding into obscurity once the following album dropped. Check out Born for Burning and The Rites of Darkness.
One Rode to Asa Bay on Hammerheart is my favorite Quorthon song, but it set the tone for this majestic work.
