Best Stevie Wonder Songs

The Top Ten
1 Superstition

When I listened to this song, it made me want to listen to more of his songs because it was just that good! The clavi gives me a superstitious feeling whenever I listen to it.

Great song. I love the beat and the rhythm. It has been my favorite song ever since I was four. I would not change anything about it.

Yes, this is probably the greatest Motown record ever. I love it. It's just so badass!

2 I Just Called to Say I Love You

The most wonderful song of his! The very tune of it gets you grooving and mushy at the same time! Intoxicating!

Superstition is clearly overrated. Why is this song not number 1?

Love the music composition. Best ever. Been hearing it since childhood.

3 Living for the City

An instant classic that shoots from the hip. No niceties here, just the plain old truth. This was written long ago and still applies today. Actually, things are worse today than before.

A fantastic song about a black man growing up in "hard-time Mississippi," and sound effects of him walking around the city.

THE. BEST. The synthesizer arrangements showcased here are just amazing!

4 Sir Duke

Everyone knows the tune of this song, and it has great lyrics where Stevie talks a lot about the world of music. "Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand."

This song is amazing. I love his voice on this one, and the bassline is so good!

I like the song, and I have heard it many times without knowing who made it.

5 I Wish

I see myself doing all of the things the song speaks about.

I love the song I Wish. I listen to it all the time when I am not busy.

6 Isn't She Lovely

I just like that it's dedicated to his child. Out of all his songs, I find myself singing this the most.

It's truly a beautiful song and one of his best.

7 Higher Ground

Yes, this really should be in the top ten. Not only because of the number of people who have covered it, but also the diversity of the artists who have done so.

Look at the number of others who have done this song. Everyone loves it. I'm really surprised it's not in the top ten.

I love this song. The Chili Peppers cover was top drawer too.

8 Part-Time Lover

Where to begin? Rhythm? Lyrics? Passion? Vocals' speed? Once you hear it, you'll never forget it. It's like brainwashing! Emotion revives a special love, even though the song implies the opposite.

The best song of Stevie Wonder is Part-Time Lover, and this song must be in the top three of Stevie Wonder songs. I think this song has changed my life.

9 My Cherie Amour

This song is really sweet and relatable to me. I know exactly what this song is about!

One of the best love songs ever. Up there with the best.

10 Ebony and Ivory
The Contenders
11 As

Musically brilliant. Layered, deep, rich, powerful. Flawlessly written, produced, and performed. I'm a 60-something white guy and have listened to this song repeatedly since I was 19 or 20.

The best song ever written. The words fit whether coming from a lover to another, from a parent to a child, or from God to you. Hearing these words said to you will get you through the roughest times.

This song was the key song at a wedding I was in, and I listened to it very well. I was able to appreciate the lyrics and the feeling this song was written to evoke.

12 For Once in My Life

I have listened to a lot of his songs a few times over, but this is the only one I instantly loved. So, I have to say this is the best in my eyes and ears.

One of the best songs I've ever listened to. It brings me into a really good mood.

It's happy! And it makes me smile.

13 Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours

How is this song not higher up on the list?

14 You Haven't Done Nothin'

Stevie combined his funk with a political statement here against the liar Nixon. "We are sick and tired of hearing your song, how you're going to change right from wrong."

15 Lately

Very, very good. I have not heard all his other songs, but I sung this in karaoke and I enjoyed it.

One of his most underappreciated gems.

16 That's What Friends are For
17 Master Blaster

This song definitely deserves a higher ranking! The rhythm and lyrics of this masterpiece combined can surely lift anybody's mood.

That bass and that voice. Best. Period.

Come on people, this song is the funkiest, rootiest, most joyous song ever.

18 You are the Sunshine of My Life

Why is this 18th? It is a really good ballad and one of the most important songs from the master of jazz, Stevie Wonder. If you haven't listened to it, do it now!

Wow! This is a crime. This should be in the top five. I realize with Stevie, there's a lot to choose from, but wow.

One of the greatest recordings of its time. This should be higher! Great tune in every way.

19 Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing
20 Knocks Me Off My Feet
21 Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday
22 I Believe
23 Fingertips, Part 2

Amazing, and he was only 12 years old.

24 Ribbon in the Sky

A beautiful song, probably one of his most famous. This is the first song I heard of Stevie's, and I loved it.

What a great slow dance song. To feel this way every day would be something special.

One of the all-time great love songs by a true musical genius. God bless you, Stevie.

25 Rocket Love

How can this song be missing? Stevie Wonder seems to be at his very best when I hear this classic. I love hearing this all the time.

Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking song. Severely underrated.
