Greatest Steely Dan Songs

Really is a great song, and reflecting Petsounds, similar to the work of The Doors, Riders On The Storm.
Reminds me a bit of The Doors, particularly Riders on the Storm.
I sing this song all the time. One of my favorites
Timeless classic.Another example of why the 1970's was the best era for music.

I'd love a 20 minute version. Drink Scotch Whiskey all night long. Learn to work the saxophone. Great lyrics
Personally it's my favorite. The lyrics really mean something.
I really don't see why it isn't #1. Some of the better song lyrics I've ever heard
"They've got a name for the winners of the world
I want a name when I lose..."

Clever lyrics, great guitar playing. A lot of the songs from the "Aja" album are good, but this one is still my favorite.
I think it's between this one and Do it Again. Both of them classics
This is one song that always makes me cry.

I always loved this song and had a rough idea of what the song was about. The opening bars of the song capture the danger and excitement of making and dealing in drugs brilliantly. I really like the song for the exquisite melody and harmony it contains. Larry Carlton's solo is rightly regarded as one of the greatest ever. I never get tired of listening to it.
This song is based on a LSD manufacturer named Stanley owsley, who made the best LSD in San Francisco

Must be higher. Steve Gadd's drum solo is one of the best ever.

My favourite song by Steely Dan.
Their greatest one!

I don't see how this is not in top 10 awesome song listen to it people it's better than half the songs above it.
One of the best songs I've ever heard. Can't get it out of my head!
I love the vibe of this song.

It's everything a song should be.

Such a memorable chorus

This song rocks!

Big radio hit, great song. Should be higher.

Makes me cry every time!
"Lord I know you're a special friend, but you can't seem to understand." Hits right in the feels.
This song is so awesome, amigo!

Who wrote this timeless sea song?

In my opinion this is one of their best songs - but - it's almost impossible to classify one song better than the others - all of them are so great in their own way.
Easily one of their best melodies.
