1 Syd Barrett Roger Keith Barrett was an English musician, composer, singer, songwriter, and painter. Best known as a founder member of the band Pink Floyd, Barrett was the lead singer, guitarist and principal songwriter in its early years and is credited with naming the band.

When Syd's LSD problem got out of hand. David Gilmour joked about not picking Syd up for the recording sessions. Sense Syd got so difficult to work with at that point. The rest of the band agreed to not pick him up, and overtime he was completely out of the band.
