Best Songs from Paul McCartney & Wings' Band on the Run
Released in 1973, Band on the Run is Paul McCartney's most critically acclaimed solo album, and arguably one of the best by any former Beatle. The album loosely tells the story of a rock band escaping from jail.Great song! Probably in the top three of Paul McCartney's songs!
This has always been the best for me. I absolutely love it.
One of McCartney's best songs ever!
"Jet" is a pop masterpiece! The melody and energy are off the charts. If you need to pick a "best" song from the Band on the Run album, why not choose "Jet"? You can't go wrong with it!
However, if you were to throw all the tracks from this album into a hat and pick "the best" randomly, that would work too. The truth is, the Band on the Run album is perhaps the only post-Beatles album that stands up boldly to The Beatles' discography. Paul McCartney nails a full-blown, real-deal masterpiece with this album!
Down in the jungle, living in a tent.
You don't use money, you don't pay rent.
Great rock and roll riff, and an homage (if you can call it that) to his former best buddy and bandmate, John Lennon.
Simple yet brilliant. The bridge is the best part.
And my favorite!
Beautiful song. Extremely underrated and one of Paul's best.
I should have put this higher...
Should be in the top five.
Definitely worthy of being in the top five. Compared to a lot of his other solo stuff, this one really rocks!
This is not the worst.
Such a great rocker.
