Countries With the Most Interesting History
In my opinion, Greece should be on top of the list. The founders of the Western world, and a rich, cultural, and long history, longer than Italy's. It's fascinating.
Greece has a very unique history. From its famous mythology to its fatal ancient wars, this country has it all.
Because of the sheer scale, spectrum, and prominence of influences Greek history has recorded.

China and Vietnam's histories are similar.
How come China is below Greece, Italy, and especially the USA? China has thousands of years of interesting history. The USA only has 300 years, and it's all about the British. Boring!
China should be #1 or #2. China has a history of thousands of years, and it is so interesting. Don't believe me? Try searching about China's history, and you'll forget about other histories.
I am Egyptian, and I think this country should be at the top of the list. Greek and Roman history came way after.

Short history, but all of that history is interesting.
French Revolution, Bourbon Dynasty, Seven Years' War, Napoleonic Wars, World War I, World War II, and much more. France perhaps has one of the best histories along with the UK and Germany.
Beginning with the Holy Roman Empire (of the German Nation), over the German Confederation, to the Weimar Republic and the Third Reich, the division into West and East, and the reunion in '89... there are so many things Germany went through!
World War I and II and the importance in Europe because of its central position also come to mind. I believe German history is one of the most interesting! Top 3 is debatable, but I think the top 10 seems worthy.
Germany should be in the top 3.
Prussia, the Franco-Prussian War, the Berlin Conference (starting point of trade and colonization in Africa), the German colonial empire, the Herero and Namaqua genocides, World War I, the responsibility for World War I, the revolution in Germany, the Weimar Republic (economic crisis), Nazi Germany, the Hindenburg disaster, the responsibility for World War II, the partition of Germany, the Berlin blockade, the Berlin Wall, the fall of the Berlin Wall (official end of the Iron Curtain), and reunification...
The UK definitely has a rich history, especially England. It should be higher on the list than America because its history is much longer and it was a fairly big part of global events at one point.
Britain has a way more interesting history than others like America. The only reason it's higher on this list is because Americans think they are better than everyone else.

Interesting quirky culture that blends old and modern. It's so isolated that it does its own thing.
The Newcomers
Russia has a really sad, cold, dark history, but it's surprisingly diverse. The government is awful like China's!
Russia went from a trading confederation of Norsemen and Balto-Slavic tribes to becoming a Mongol vassal, then the largest northern territorial empire and European superpower in just 500 years.
Russia's history is certainly not pleasant, but it is very interesting and complex.
Poland has endured many hardships and downfalls, but look, it's still on the map. Despite always being in a difficult place and often having to fight for its existence, it has survived partitions by three powers: Austria, Russia, and Prussia, the aggression of the Third Reich, betrayal by the Soviet Union, and about 40 years of communism.
Do you know how many people shed blood for Poland? Do you know how much honor means to Polish officers? Do you know how many Poles risked their lives to save Jews?
And yet, there are so many stereotypes saying that they started the Holocaust. Learn more about this country and its history, and you will see how many times Poland helped others and got nothing in return.

Mongolia is increasingly underrated in the West as well as in Asia. The impacts of the Mongols and the Khans are vast and cannot be justified in just a sentence, completely altering the trajectory of civilizational states like Russia (Golden Horde), India (Mughal descendants), China (Yuan and Qing dynasties), and Turkey (Anatolia).
