Most Overrated Movies of the 2000s

The Top Ten

1 Twilight

What is lord of the Rings doing up there! D: it is the BEST MOVIE EVER!

yeah this wasn't even good like it only got hype because of all the girls who rad the book like cwhat! - ballaboi17

Why in the world the dark knight and LOTR are here? Those are the best movie I ever watch. Not this stupid twilight thing.

2 Avatar

Am I the only person who noticed that this is just a live-action remake of "Ferngully? " Entertaining movie, but I just don't think it is worthy of being the most successful movie of all time.

It's just a remake of pochahontas and the Disney didn't do so well

3 High School Musical

Frank from Donnie Darko should have Donnie prevent this movie from happening.

4 The Dark Knight

Heath Ledger dies, and the media tells stupid people to like it enough times that they actually believe they like it. Objectively, an average movie.

Most overrated dull of all time

It's fantastic the first few times you watch it. When it's thrown in your face all the time on T.V., it's another story.

All nolan's film is overrated

5 The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
6 Million Dollar Baby

Whoever said harry potter is dumb, shut up whoever said that

Where is the dumb harry potter films?

7 Slumdog Millionaire
8 Paranormal Activity

This is a horror movie apparantly. So, where's the scares? To put it bluntly Paranormal Activity wasn't scary at all. It was boring. - Shadsilvson11

I got bored from the first five minuits. The film camera annoys me and it's a crap horror movie that is not scary in any way

9 The Matrix Revolutions
10 Gladiator

Not that bad, but not the best movie ever made (as a lot of people say) either

The Contenders

11 Mamma Mia!
12 V for Vendetta
13 The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King

It was disappointing, frankly. It did deserve a Best Picture Oscar, but did not deserve Oscars in every category it was nominated for. The Academy Awards show blatant favoritism to this film.

14 The Blind Side

It was a great movie. But people act like it was the most inspiring and beautiful masterpiece ever. I know that people have different tastes in movies, but I just hear it a lot.

15 Requiem for a Dream
16 District 9
17 Angels & Demons
18 Dreamgirls

I know this may sound ridiculous, but I wasted $1 on this piece of crap movie. The story wasn't much of anything and it was so cheesy that whenever they had to act, they sung it. It was like them trying to be like the Supremes, but failed. The only worse movie than this is "She's Out of My League" taht I've seen. That's just my opinion though.

19 Irreversible
20 Marley and Me
21 The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers

I really don't get the people who say that the LOTR films just get better each installment. That is a blatant lie. While I do find Return Of The King to be the best in the trilogy. How is The Two Towers better than The Fellowship Of The Ring. I would of chosen Fellowship Of The Ring as the best hadn't Return Of The King been so epic. But The Two Towers while it may be a great film is the weakest in the trilogy. There is like an hour and a half between exciting scenes. Golem is annoying and it is incredibly slow. While the LOTR Trilogy is one of my favorite film trilogies. I don't think The Two Towers deserves as much praise as it gets. It is the most overrated in the trilogy and it is not better then Fellowship Of The Ring. It is the weakest in the trilogy.

22 Frozen

It is just bad advertising!

This movie came out in th 2010s.
But it still sucks.

23 How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
24 Freddy Got Fingered

Freddy Got Fingered literally gets so much love for having bestiality, a manchild and unreasonable abuse.

25 Ice Age: The Meltdown
26 Spirited Away
27 The Fast and the Furious
28 Transformers

Let's get things straight here: I have absolutely NO problem with people liking the Transformers films nor am I against these aspects. Yes, they are fun, entertaining films that don't need productive and artistic value like other summer films, and yes, they do make lots of money for all the CGI-animated robots and the epic special effects. Beyond that, the critics who typically bash these films, including the infamous Roger Ebert, are really not the problem at all. The real problem you ask? Well... It's the fanboys (and fangirls) who covet too much to the films especially in particular, and they literally get into fights over them. Now, that's pathetic. They need to quit taking these films too seriously! Most of them went there just to see Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox just because they are the main stars and want more screentime of them. When the fans found out that Megan Fox and Shia Labouf are quitting on Michael Bay, they b*tched about it! Seriously! They can't accept criticism, they ...more
