I thought they were supposed to save punk when they came out, but they turned out to be for squalling brats who didn't go to any Ramones shows in the Seventies, because they weren't born yet. I call it kiddie punk. What a farce.
Seriously, why does it even matter if Green Day are or aren't punk? Punk does not necessarily equal quality. And besides, I don't care if they are "poser" punk, I like Green Day solely because I enjoy their music, not because of their punkness.
Green Day was barley even punk rock before Dookie came out, but after that? Forget about it. American Idiot is no where even near punk! Just listen to the drums! Same with 21st Century Breakdown, which was somehow even less punk.
Green Day aren't punk rock but they are pop punk. Doesn't mean they are bad though, they are in my top 5 bands.
2 5 Seconds of Summer
5 Seconds of Summer are an Australian pop-rock band from Sydney, Australia, that formed in 2011. The group were originally YouTube celebrities, posting videos of themselves covering songs from various artists during 2011 and early 2012. They rose to international fame while touring with One Direction on the Take Me Home Tour. This is the #1 poser. I mean, I can see why other people would call the other bands poser bands, but this, this is POP. Not POP PUNK. Just POP!
My friend totally loves these in fact she came in with a 5sos bracelet into school today and spent ages trying to get it off! I kinda like their music
Pure pop music. I have no clue why there are so many people out there trying to claim that this band is punk.
Pfr, these guys are just a bunch of asses who think that by making cheesy songs for 11 year old girls and making stupid faces they're punk. They're a shame for the genre, just another cool-wanna be band that will be forgotten in three years.

The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first band to define the punk rock sound. How are the guys who invented punk rock posers? They may not be the most popular punk band, but they were responsible for the influence and sound of punk rock. They shouldn't even be on this list because lots of people don't know what posers are.
They're just Bubblegum Rock by todays standards. Sure, they may have started the punk rock movement but it got so much better after they were gone.
Ramones sex pistols and the clash are posers?

6 The Clash
The Clash were an English punk rock band that formed in 1976 as part of the original wave of British punk. Only the first album is punk. After that it's commercial power-pop with punk lyrics but not punk rock in music anymore.
