Best Pop Punk Albums

The Top Ten
Dookie - Green Day

Dookie MUST be first! Green Day revolutionized pop punk, and this is their breakthrough album! Every song on here is amazing and should crush all other competitors.

I am extra pissed this is not number one. What the hell? This was a revolutionary album, so important it inspired the likes of 2000s pop punk bands themselves.

Perhaps the soundtrack of 1994. Singles are "When I Come Around," "Longview," "Welcome to Paradise," "Basket Case," and "She."

American Idiot - Green Day

This album is brilliant and gets so many people into Green Day. They hear songs like American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and Wake Me Up When September Ends on the radio and want to hear more by Green Day, so they do! It's the same with Dookie, as people will hear Burnout, Basket Case, and When I Come Around.

I love this album, although it's not necessarily my favorite. But I voted for it because it embodies pop punk. This, and then Enema and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (both by Blink-182).

What is this album doing at 25?! It is the greatest album and the most sold in the world.

Enema of the State - Blink 182

Enema of the State is the definitive pop punk album, hands down. No other band, not even Blink-182 themselves, will ever repeat this. This was made in the pop punk golden era, 1999, but sadly that's long gone now.

Enema of the State, Dude Ranch, and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket are much better than Dookie. There's no contest. I mean, Green Day is good, but they will never be able to make albums as good as those three I mentioned.

If you were to meet an alien and try to explain to them what "pop punk" was, you'd hand them a copy of Enema. Singles are "What's My Age Again?," "Adam's Song," and "All the Small Things."

The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

This is really heavy for a pop punk record. Love the intensity. Adore every track.

When I was a young boy (girl, actually), my father raised me with pop punk music.

Insomniac - Green Day

Insomniac was a big hit, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Geek Stink Breath, Brain Stew, and Walking Contradiction were big hits.

From Under the Cork Tree - Fall Out Boy

Best pop punk album of the '00s. Singles are "Dance, Dance," "Sugar, We're Going Down," and "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More 'Touch Me.'"

Unreal lyrics and a definition of modern pop punk. Can you even imagine a world without Sugar, We're Going Down?

Riot! - Paramore
Ocean Avenue - Yellowcard

By far one of the best '03 albums, and a Yellowcard fan favorite (but I still prefer Paper Walls).

Dude Ranch - Blink 182

Two top ten pop punk albums?! Blink is THAT GOOD. Dude Ranch put the band on the music industry's radar. Singles are "Dammit," "Apple Shampoo," "Dick Lips," and "Josie."

Americana - The Offspring

These guys may be the goofiest pop punk band out there (next to Blink-182), but they also put out one of the best pop punk albums of all time. Singles are "Pretty Fly for a White Guy," "The Kids Aren't Alright," "Feelings," "She's Got Issues," and "Why Don't You Get a Job?".

The Newcomers

? Smile, It's the End of the World - Hawk Nelson
? Neighborhoods - Blink-182
The Contenders
All Killer No Filler - Sum 41
Take Off Your Pants & Jacket - Blink 182
A Fever You Can't Sweat Out - Panic! at the Disco

It's not pop punk without I Write Sins Not Tragedies.

Brand New Eyes - Paramore
Nothing Personal - All Time Low
Does This Look Infected? - Sum 41

Come on, all these songs are just wonderful. This should be way higher. WHY 22? It should be at least #15.

Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge - My Chemical Romance
Paper Walls - Yellowcard
Blink-182 - Blink-182
The Art of Losing - American Hi-Fi

Really good album to sing along to!

Bleed American - Jimmy Eat World
Nimrod - Green Day

Really underrated album. It has some of the band's best songs. It experiments with other styles of music while retaining the punk sound. I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet!

Best record they've ever released, and Good Riddance is easily their biggest song.

Cheshire Cat - Blink-182
Drunk Enough to Dance - Bowling for Soup
The Greatest Generation - The Wonder Years

Plenty of '90s bands dominate this top ten, but The Wonder Years are what pop punk has been building to for many years. They are the best at their craft.

This album is a masterpiece.

Easy. The Greatest Generation is a touchstone in music history. It deserves a top three spot as one of the best pop punk albums of all time. The Wonder Years are also one of the greatest bands.
