Best Rock Albums of the '90s

The Top Ten
1 Nevermind - Nirvana Nevermind - Nirvana Product Image

How is this number two if it has more percentage of votes than the #1 album. Also, the correct order should be Nevermind, Black Album, Dookie, Ten, Dirt followed by the others.

An absolutely legendary album that shaped and changed modern alternative/grunge music.
In my opinion the top 3 should be: Nevermind, Dookie, Enema of the State

Never forget the first time I heard smells like teen spirit, I knew things would never be the same in music again.

Nirvana the best band in the world!

2 Dirt - Alice In Chains Dirt - Alice In Chains Product Image

More like 269 times better... Trust me I'm not kidding, most of the albums below Nevermind are a lot better. Nirvana may have a few good songs, but most of their discography is pretty doodoo.

3 Metallica - Metallica Metallica - Metallica Product Image

There are a lot of solid albums of the nineties, but none contain the energy that this one has to offer.

If they would of stopped at this album they would of been bigger legends

4 Ten - Pearl Jam Ten - Pearl Jam Product Image

I was a rabid Iron Maiden guy who listened to grunge for the first time with Alive. Felt in love immediately.

5 OK Computer - Radiohead OK Computer - Radiohead Product Image

What the hell? Number twelve! Just. No.

Boring album by a annoying band.

This is the greatest album of all time, let alone greatest rock album of the 90s

6 Dookie - Green Day Dookie - Green Day Product Image

Every song in Dookie is energetic and fabulous, but "Basket Case" is in the class of its own. The simple chord progression and melodies are so catchy, and it was this song that made me realize the greatness of Green Day.

Every song here is perfect. Each track has it's own place to make this one of the best albums in existence!

7 Blood Sugar Sex Magik - Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magik - Red Hot Chili Peppers Product Image
8 Innuendo - Queen Innuendo - Queen Product Image

Their most solid album from start to finish. Innuendo, I must be Going Slightly Mad, and of course Queen's finest hour: The Show Must Go On
Their last album just so happened to be there greatest one.

It's not as influential as Ok Computer, but it's the best in terms of musical maturity. Innuendo(song) is one of the greatest song.

Innuendo is a masterpiece.

9 Weezer (Blue Album) - Weezer Weezer (Blue Album) - Weezer Product Image

Someone tell me why this is so low. Every song on this album is a perfect 10. Also one of the first albums I ever owned as a kid.

Should be in top 15

10 Superunknown - Soundgarden Superunknown - Soundgarden Product Image

For me this IS the #1 album of the 90's. Not a single song in here that's not a masterpiece.

The pinnacle of grunge!

The Contenders
11 The Razor's Edge - AC/DC The Razor's Edge - AC/DC Product Image
12 Insomniac - Green Day Insomniac - Green Day Product Image
13 Aenima - Tool Aenima - Tool Product Image

These guys were so cool and mysterious. I didn't know what the band looked like for a long time.

Should be at the top of the list Tool is the best band ever made.

14 Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers Product Image

Am I the only one who thinks Californication is better than Blood Sex Sugar Magik? I mean personally I believe both deserve to be on a top 10 greatest rock albums of the 90s list. But if I had to choose one, I'd say Californication is the better album.

15 Nightfall In Middle-Earth - Blind Guardian Nightfall In Middle-Earth - Blind Guardian Product Image
16 The Colour and the Shape - Foo Fighters The Colour and the Shape - Foo Fighters Product Image
17 Issues - Korn Issues - Korn Product Image
18 Nimrod - Green Day Nimrod - Green Day Product Image

20 Achtung Baby - U2 Achtung Baby - U2 Product Image
21 (Hed) Pe - (Hed) Pe (Hed) Pe - (Hed) Pe Product Image
22 The Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails Product Image

This is the greatest album from the 90's for sure. It never gets old and still sounds new in 2016.
