The Top Ten
1 Hansi Kürsch Hansi Kürsch, born Hans Jürgen Kürsch, is the lead singer, lyricist, co-composer and bassist for German power metal band Blind Guardian . Heavily influenced by Freddie Mercury, he creates a huge choir effect by overdubbing his own voice multiple times in complex, overlapping vocal harmonies. He records more.

This is the man - intelligent, hardworking, passionate, wise. He reads a lot and he obviously even read an old political writing by John Milton - "The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates". Milton legitimizes the killing of a king who didn't carry out his duties. Hansi wrote a song about it and sang it - Curse My Name by Blind Guardian. A fan-made youtube video is with scenes from To Kill a King movie.

I don't know if the theory about previous lives is true or false but I will use it as a metaphore: I think Hansi Kürsch was a king in his previous lives. He wrote so many songs about kings, described them so good and put so much emotion in these songs. These kings were tragic kings that were betrayed, killed and so on. I think Hansi knows that political power is a big responsibility.

Another patriotic and politically responsible musician from Iced Earth. Matt Barlow is one of the most talented metal singers ever but he left a major band like Iced Eath for this reason: the September 11 terrorist attacks shocked him and he decided to become a police officer and contribute to the "real world" instead of living the illusion of a "rock star."
