The song is about a guy (David Gilmoure) missing his plane ride and the laugh is someone laughing is because he missed the plane and in the end the plane explodes.
God this song scares me. The scream gets me every time. Its acualy a lesson about how you shouldn't rush life. Great song. I had a hard time choosing between this and revolution 9. And no quarter is not that scary. Its kind of cool in my opinion.
That effin scream, high pitched wail, and laugh just freaks me out! -
From like 8:00 onwards it is creepy as hell - gives me nightmares!
Scariest tones! No competition, truly scary song
Nightmare. Ooo this song's something
Not too creepy, just pretty cool. You might think you have never heard this, but trust me... you have.V 1 Comment
I wouldn't call it scary, I would say that this song is very much a tribute, and a warning, but yeah, the bit where Eddie sings "Jeremy spoke in class today" is more effective than any hardcore metal lyric. - VaticanCameos
It sounds like the family friendly version of Cannibal Corpse's Hammer Smashed Face.
A song about a maniac with a silver hammer... why the judge? Why not any werewolves or anything? -
This song is more haunting than Revolution 9, that's why this song is so good. - malamJONES
Doesn't give off a creepy vibe, but the lyrics are creepy. - GruungeV 2 Comments

I didn't find the song itself to be scary, but the lyrics and meaning behind it is terrifying. - Gruunge
As if "The music is reversable, but time is not... turn back, turn back, turn back" was eerie enough it had to be backmasked! -
By far the scariest opener to an album ever. (Still love it though)
Man, isn't his voice just terrifying.
Whenever I listen to this song I feel like I've entered another world. It sounds so mysterious that it feels like it wasn't made by humans. A song that doesn't really sound all that human.
Funny thing is that this song wasn't really written for The Exorcist. Wonder what it would've been like it director William Friedkin just skipped this song for The Exorcist.
It sounds so mysterious and otherworldly that it's creepy. It's still a true masterpiece of art though. I really love it.
Exorcist, this song is TERRIFYING and you have scarred us all for life. You don't get suspense, oh no. You KNOW it's coming. You shall not sleep tonight. Farewell.

Pretty scary laugh near the end...
I voted because it's a awesome song. Not because it's scary.
Oh because of the laugh...V 2 Comments
Christ! This song gives me chills. It's really scary, but it's also really sick! If you are reading this, check this song out! The music video is also terrifying, too.
Check out the music video as well: same level of creepy. - RandomGuy456
That scream he lets out is even scarier than most death growls!
