Best Game of Thrones Warriors
Includes characters in the TV series and those who fought in Robert's RebellionNed Stark, the fan favorite of Season 1 and someone who held his own against Jaime Lannister when he had his right hand, fought Ser Arthur Dayne with five other highborn/noble soldiers (including Lord Howland Reed) and got his arse handed to him on a 'fallen star steel' plate.
Literally won every single 1v1 fight according to the books. Technically won a 1v4 against Eddard Stark and his team but got stabbed in the back.
Arthur Dayne carried the sword Dawn, forged from a fallen star. He killed the Smiling Knight and taught Jaime Lannister the art of sword fighting. Barristan Selmy considered him his superior.
Arguably the best warrior in Westeros before his hand was chopped off. Cut down loads of knights to get to Robb Stark during the Northern Rebellion. Beat Barristan Selmy in a tourney sometime after Robert's Rebellion.
Young talent. He was the best before he got kidnapped. Probably the best young swordsman of all time.
Only Dayne and Selmy could match him (before his maiming, of course).
Was still a force to be reckoned with in old age. Greatly admired by Jaime Lannister, Robert Baratheon, and Eddard Stark.
He stayed through the first couple of seasons. If he isn't the best warrior, he's damn close.
Was #2 when Arthur Dayne was alive, could beat anyone but him.
And when he was old, he still almost won a 2v6.
In A Feast For Crows, Jaime Lannister says there are three men who would best him in their prime: Arthur Dayne, Barristan Selmy, and Robert Baratheon. He also states that there are three men who are physically stronger than him: both Clegane brothers and, again, a young Robert Baratheon.
Wielded a war hammer, which he could thrust through full armor in one strike in his prime. Killed Rhaegar Targaryen and was a greatly feared, monstrous force on the battlefield. Slew all warriors who crossed him during his rebellion.
One of the bravest fellas, always fighting for the good no matter the cost. This habit alone makes him one of the best fighters and warriors. People seem to neglect the fact that, unlike many others, he is not even in his prime yet but just a boy who is still developing. It's beautiful that we are getting to see his journey so far.
Bonus: Maybe the only person to give the Night King something to be concerned about.
He's a beast in sword combat and has proved himself worthy more than enough times. He has fought on the battlefield countless times and has managed to come out alive from every single battle he's been in. He killed a significant number of soldiers in the "Battle of the Bastards" and has defeated many great fighters in combat, including Styr, Qhorin Halfhand, and Karl Tanner, to name a few. He has to be Azor Ahai and has a major role to play in the wars to come. By the time the show concludes, I strongly believe he will be the greatest fighter to have ever lived in Westeros.
Strong but stupid. Won against Gregor Clegane in a fair 1v1 but was so dumb that he lost while "The Mountain" was lying on the floor.
Never lost a fight amongst the Dothraki. He could take on men with swords with his bare hands due to his tremendous agility.
Never lost, brutal and efficient.
Took down four heavily armored Goldcloaks with nothing but a nice brown shirt and a wooden training sword. The First Sword of Braavos is not a title to scoff at, and his "death" offscreen makes me think he'll return one day.
He defeated three armored men with a wooden sword. What about that?
He beat three Kingsguard with a stick. How much better can you get?
Snow and Ned are above this monster? Snow and Ned are both above-average fighters, but neither is as well-known for being fighters as the Hound. The Hound should be in the top 5.
With the help of Howland Reed, Ned killed the legendary warrior Arthur Dayne. In the TV series, Ned pretty much equaled Jaime in sword fighting skills. He killed other good fighters during Robert's Rebellion.
The Newcomers
Described as a good but not outstanding fighter by Barristan Selmy and said to be Robert's greatest victory during his rebellion, Rhaegar was good enough to injure Robert during the fight.
Biggest and strongest warrior in the world of Ice and Fire.
She literally beat the Hound, yet she's down here in 16th place. The Hound was equal in strength to the Mountain by the end of the series, and the Mountain was an immortal zombie. You're telling me Jon Snow, who had far less combat experience than all of those people, would be stronger than Brienne of Tarth? I think not.
I love how she, right from the start, thinks she is the toughest warrior around while effectively making it through luck or help and gradually leveling up to being a credible fighter.
By the end, she was hands down one of the deadliest humans in Westeros.
Are you kidding me?! Why is the person who killed the Night King down here?
Saved Tyrion Lannister. He was one of the best fighters in this TV show. Sadly, after that 1v1, we didn't see more of his fights.
Did you all forget this champion knight here? He has beaten Jaime Lannister in a sword sparring match in the book. One of Westeros' finest knights and swordsmen. The only enemy he has not beaten yet is the friendzone.
