Top 10 Warrior Cats With the Saddest Disabilities

The Top Ten
Briarlight Briarlight was born to Graystripe and Millie alongside Blossomfall and Bumblestripe. When she was an apprentice, she tried to save Longtail from a falling tree and crushed her lower spine. After that, she had to do exercises to strengthen her backbone. She lived in the Med Cat den, until a case of greencough... read more

She is such a bad character. Millie was biased, and when Blossomfall was bleeding once, she said that she would check on Briarlight instead. And Honeyfern died for her in Sunrise. But did Briarlight ever thank her, even if she was dead? No, she did not.

And her pride killed her in the end. She got sick with a bug and died. And it was so weak. She couldn't have survived anything with those back legs, nothing! That worthless scrap of fresh-kill.

- Blacktuft of ThunderClan

She broke her backbone. Imagine how it must have felt to feel like a burden, like your mother was spoiling you, all for nothing. You could never fight or defend your clan. You could never hunt or give your clan something to live on. You couldn't even be a medicine cat because you cannot walk. You can't even walk, for StarClan's sake!

At this point, if there was such a thing as "StarClan," I think most of us would want to go there. You don't even know why your clan is taking care of you. Briarlight soothes everyone. However, deep down, even she may want to be reincarnated, like Cinderpelt.

Cinderpelt A Medicine Cat from the book series Warriors by Erin Hunter, she is a small, fluffy, sleek, and soft-furred she-cat with a smoky dark gray coat and wide blue eyes. Initially, she started out as a Warrior apprentice but was forced to train as a Medicine Cat after a monster broke her leg on the Thunderpath... read more

This disability is way sadder than Briarlight's, in my opinion. I mean, Briarlight can't walk anymore, but at least she's still a warrior. She can have a mate in the future if she falls in love. Her mother basically forgets about her other kits and fawns over her every need.

Yes, her injury is sad, but nothing compared to Cinderpelt's. The car crushed not only her leg but also her dreams. She wants to be a warrior, she wants to be Firestar's mate. But she can't because the path of a medicine cat is chosen for her. She has to hide her feelings and pretend that Firestar is nothing more than her leader and friend.

I can't even imagine what it feels like to watch him fall for Sandstorm, watching them so happy together, and later on delivering his daughters. All the while knowing it could've been her if the monster hadn't crushed her leg...

Brightheart Brightheart is a character from Warriors by Erin Hunter. She is a white she-cat with ginger patches. As an Apprentice she got attacked by dogs and got half of her face torn off. Her mate is Cloudtail and her kits are Whitewing, Ambermoon, Dewnose, and Snowbush.

As an apprentice, she was bitten by dogs and almost died, like her brother Swiftpaw. Her eye was scratched and scarred, and cats were crippled with shock when they saw her for the first time.

While healing, she was afraid when cats approached her wrong side. After she healed, Cloudtail took her under his wing, and they developed a new and effective fighting style.

When she became a warrior, Bluestar called her a cruel name, but Firestar fixed that and renamed her Brightheart. She then became mates with Cloudtail, and they had one kit.

Crookedstar Crookedstar is a huge, light brown tabby tom with green eyes and a twisted jaw.

Crookedstar was a RiverClan leader in the forest territories. He was born as Stormkit to Rainflower and Shellheart alongside his brother, Oakkit. Following an accident in which he broke his jaw, Stormkit was renamed... read more

At least Briarlight has a mother who basically forgets the other kits she has and fawns over her every need. Rainflower rejected her son when he needed her the most. Echomist is awesome, taking care of Crookedstar when he was a kit.

I feel really bad for Crookedstar. He was neglected almost his whole life! How would you feel if you had a twisted jaw and all anyone gave you was a stare?

(Broke his jaw.)

Snowkit Snowkit is a character in the series Warrior Cats, he was born deaf and is most known for when he was carried off by a hawk after being unable to hear it. He is described to be a sturdy, deaf white tom with light blue eyes.

This was completely unfair. Snowkit had the potential to become a warrior or even a medicine cat. Yes, he was deaf, but actual cats communicate through signals and body language. What would have been different with Snowkit?

His death was just another example of the insane ableism in Warrior Cats. This is why I believe Snowkit saved this hawk's life somehow, and they became friends. Even though he's away from the warrior life and his loving mother, he's still happier because he isn't judged by his ability to hear. Also, he gave himself the name Snowhawk.

Longtail Longtail is a lean, pale brown or silver tabby tom with black stripes, a "V"-shaped nick in his ear and a long tail.

Longtail was a ThunderClan elder who lived under Firestar’s Leadership in the forest and lake territories and previously served as a warrior under Bluestar and Firestar. He was... read more

I was kind of sad when he died. Firestar is my favorite character, but Longtail didn't deserve to die. He was not used to living completely blinded. It would be similar to waking up one day, and everything was pitch black. I think that this cat has experienced too much death.

At least he and Mousefur are together in StarClan. He had such good eyesight, and according to Mousefur, his eyes were as sharp as a hawk's. Stupid rabbit.

- Moonstar of ThunderClan

Longtail was extremely sad when he was blinded by the stupid rabbit. You have to feel bad for him when Mousefur says that he once had eyes as sharp as hawks.

Deadfoot Deadfoot is a small, lean black tom with an unusable twisted left paw. His mother is Meadowslip and his father was Hickorynose. As a kit, he was called Hopkit. Hopkit was born with a twisted paw so when he got his apprentice name Heatherstar changed it to Deadpaw. He was a WindClan deputy, and now in... read more

He isn't that mean. He doesn't deserve getting a twisted leg. Besides, they didn't really have to name him DEADFOOT. What about Twistedfoot?

(His foot is so cute though.)

Jayfeather Jayfeather is a character in the Warrior Cats series. He is part of The Three, along with Lionblaze and Dovewing, and has the power to read other cats' minds, emotions, and walk into other cats dreams, He was born blind. according to the Warrior Cats Wiki Jayfeather is a lean, mottled, pale gray tabby... read more

It is not fair that Jayfeather was born blind and people pitied or looked down on him, even though he could find his way around fine and plays an important role in the prophecy.

Also, people blame him for being mean, but his life SUCKS:
1. Blind
2. Forced to be a warrior because of a prophecy he didn't ask for
3. Couldn't mate with Half Moon
4. Sister died
5. Lied to about who his MOTHER was
6. Treated like a KIT and PITIED
7. Blames himself for the death of Briarlight (a very sad death)

I love Jayfeather. He is Best Boi, but I'm not going to pity him because he doesn't like it. And I think that it's not that bad because he's not really blind. He can see in his mind, and that's why he doesn't bonk into anything like when people close their eyes.

Halftail

(Lost his tail to a badger.)

Ivypool Ivypool is a fictional character created by Erin Hunter for the Book series named Warrior Cats. Ivypool is a common silver-and-white tabby. She spied in the Dark Forest and has dark blue eyes. She is the sister of Dovewing and the kit of Whitewing and Birchfall. Her mate is Fernsong, and she is the... read more

Ivypool was such an amazing sister, but Dovewing was not grateful at all. Ivypool risked her life every day. Poor Ivypool.

The Newcomers

? Yellowfang Yellowfang was a ThunderClan medicine cat in the original series of Warriors. She initially was a medicine cat from ShadowClan, but she was banished by her son, Brokenstar. She was then found by Firestar, who was then Firepaw, and brought into ThunderClan. Her last words were "Thank you for bringing... read more

She is just an old medicine cat who was doing what was right for her Clan. She had a horrible son who treated her like garbage! Sure, she wasn't the best to him either, but how would you feel if your own son did these things to you?

1. Treated you like garbage.
2. Said lies about you.
3. Drove you out of your own home.

She's a sweet cat underneath all that grumpiness. She didn't deserve the death she got. Yes, she killed her own son, but she did that to save her clan and the other clans too.

I mean, I LOVED HER. She was the best mama, best med, and best cat. PROVE ME WRONG! (She did kill her own son, but Brokenstar sucks, prove me wrong yet again.)

The Contenders
Gray Wing

Imagine Gray Wing's kits watching their father die. Gray Wing has been in StarClan for so long, free of his asthma. Rest in peace, dear Gray Wing.

How are Hollyleaf and Firestar higher? They are just some overrated cats who didn't even have disabilities! Poor Gray Wing.

Sad he can't breathe well. I will miss you, creator of clans!

Hollyleaf Hollyleaf was one of the rare, strictly loyal cats of ThunderClan.

Her birth broke the warrior code, and she killed Ashfur in fear of him revealing the truth over her family. She lived in the tunnels for a while, before rejoining ThunderClan. Hollyleaf was slain by Hawkfrost and spent her last... read more

Here is what happened: tunnels caved in on Hollyleaf. She was knocked unconscious. When she woke up, she was buried alive, and when she tried to walk, pain shot through her leg. She realized that she was severely injured. That's her injury.

Wow, yes. She had a very bad injury. Good luck Fallen Leaves helped her. Otherwise, that injury would have become permanent. It sort of did.

Poor Hollyleaf. I hate you, Dovewing, for replacing her and Ivypool! If you didn't get yourself stuck, Hollyleaf would have never died!

Jagged Peak

He fell out of a tree and broke his leg. His own brother kicked him out of his group because of this, and he had to go live with his other brother, who was actually kind to poor Jagged Peak (*glares at Skystar).

He was so miserable until he met Holly. When she got the illness that only the Blazing Star could cure, he was so sad. Now he is the father of Storm Pelt, Eagle Feather, and Dew Nose and is very happy living in WindClan with them.

Clear Sky was such a horrible brother to him! I feel so bad! We all have those brother or sister moments, but come on, kicking your own brother out of your group?!

Firestar Firestar is a character in the Warrior Cats series. He becomes the leader of ThunderClan after Bluestar. He is mates with Sandstorm and has two kits: Squirrelflight and Leafpool. Formerly a kittypet named Rusty, Firestar is killed by fatal wounds inflicted by the spirit of Tigerstar and a falling tree... read more
One-Eye

Oh, she deserved so much more. She was blind in one eye. She was virtually blind and deaf.

Flametail

He didn't deserve anything bad. He was just a sweet cat! We learn from this cat that it doesn't matter if you have a disability. You can still be beautiful and amazing inside and out.

I love Flametail, and I didn't know about his disability before this. Also, can cats gather herbs to heal other cats and have a connection with StarClan? NO! This is fiction, people!

Berrynose

Stop hating on him! He gets his tail chopped off by a fox trap, he loses Honeyfern right when they were talking about a future together, he is half Horseplace, and he is apparently bossy by showing his apprentice some hunting skills!

Berrynose had a bad temper and all, but when Honeyfern dies right when they are talking about what wonderful kits they would have, you have to feel bad for him.

Berrynose lost half of his tail in a fox trap!

Squirrelflight Squirrelflight is a dark ginger she-cat with forest-green eyes. She has one white paw, short legs, a torn ear tip, glossy fur, and a long, squirrel-like, bushy tail. She has a scar running from her chest to the top of her hind leg along her right flank. She is a cat in the series called Warrior Cats... read more

Her stomach was cut open in one of the books. She almost died. It wasn't that bad, but it still deserves to be on this list. Probably the mildest injury on the list, though.

Brokenstar Brokenstar is a villain character from the Warrior Cats series. Brokenstar is a matted, dark brown tabby tom with a broad, flat face, a bent tail, and orange eyes. Brokenstar was a former Shadowclan leader and a member of the Dark Forest. His mother is Yellowfang and his father is Raggedstar.

I think he was mentally corrupted. Cats should not exile their moms and kill their dads for power. In the end, he had to be killed by his mom because he was such a creep and loser. That's all I gotta say.

He died by Yellowfang. By eating deathberries that Yellowfang gave him, in the Forest of Secrets. He is formerly a ShadowClan leader.

He got his eyes clawed out by Yellowfang, his mother. He is now with the Dark Forest.

Fluttering Bird Fluttering Bird is a tiny brown she cat with sleek fur and yellow eyes. Her mother is Quiet Rain and her father is an unnamed cat. She died of starvation as a kit and is now in Starclan.

She died from starvation! And she was only a kit!

Twigbranch

A lot of cats die from cars. Twigbranch survived, and she can still walk.

Leafpool Leafpool is a character in the Warrior Cats series. She's the daughter of Firestar and Sandstorm, sister of Squirrelflight, mate of Crowfeather, and mother of Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf

It seems I am the first person to comment on this list for Leafpool. Why? Because she didn't get injured, people say. But she did, just in a most special place! She suffered from the one injury that cannot be seen, can never be mended, that must be suffered from forever, and hurts the most: a broken heart.

Oh, but surely a broken spine is more serious, some would say. But no. A broken heart is something you have to live with all your life, and even into StarClan. A broken spine can be healed quickly, even if through death. Sometimes, it is easier to die than to go on living.

Leafpool felt this way. So why didn't she commit suicide? Because she cared for her Clan and her kits. She had to keep on living because she loved! Even though she could watch over cats from StarClan, they would miss her, and their hearts would break. Leafpool was so kind. She didn't want to see cats suffer because of her, so she forced herself to keep going.

When she did die, it wasn't a relief. She was gone from her home, and her heart was still injured. At least she was with some of her dead Clanmates and family there.

Finpaw
Frecklewish

In Mapleshade's Vengeance, Frecklewish was one of the three cats Mapleshade had to kill to avenge her kits. Mapleshade lured Frecklewish into an adder's den, where Frecklewish stepped on an adder, and it bit her eyes. Mapleshade walked off, not knowing if Frecklewish would die, but certain that she would at least be blind.

Did Frecklewish die from the adder bite?

Also, I have a story:

Frecklewish padded up to catch the patrol. Then she heard a noise. Mapleshade appeared.

Snowfur Snowfur is a fictional character created by Erin Hunter for the book series named Warrior Cats. She's Bluestar's sister, Whitestorm's mother and Thistleclaw's mate (when she was alive) and used to be a Thunderclan Queen before joining Starclan. She's one of the main characters in Bluestar's Prophecy... read more

I hate anyone who doesn't like her. Her sister SUCKS. Like really. RIP.
