Top 10 Warrior Cats With the Saddest Disabilities

The Top Ten
1 Briarlight Briarlight was born to Graystripe and Millie alongside Blossomfall and Bumblestripe. When she was an apprentice, she tried to save Longtail from a falling tree and crushed her lower spine. After that, she had to do exercises to strengthen her backbone. She lived in the Med Cat den, until a case of greencough took her down. She now hunts in StarClan, where she can run painlessly forever.

Brairlight, the ray of sunshine. I feel so bad for her! I read her disability in the Fading Echoes book. At least she didn't die like poor Longtail. This was one of her lines that I really thought was funny (page 186 of Fading Echoes): "A few more of these and I'll be able to wrestle Thornclaw!" I am only on Fading Echoes, yet someone on a past list spoiled it and said that she died! I just Googled it and he succumbed to a stomach illness in River of Fire. I am a Briarlight fan, but I'm one of those people who think that it was not Mousefur's fault that she was injured. It was Longtail who agreed to get the mouse and made young Briarpaw go after him hen the beech tree fell. - Moonstar of ThunderClan

She broke her backbone. Imagine, how it must've felt to feel like a burden, like your mother was spoiling you, all for nothing. You could never fight, defend your clan, you could never hunt give your clan something to live on. You couldn't even be a medicine cat because you cannot walk. You can't even walk, for StarClan's sake!
At this point, most of us would, if there was such a thing as a " StarClan" I'm thinking most of us would want to go there. You don't even know why you're clan is taking care of you. Briarlight soothes everyone, however, deep down, even She may want to be recarnated, like cinderpelt.

This was so sad! She had dreams of becoming a Warrior and then loses the use of her back legs. That's sad, now she actully can't walk. How come she never gets reborn and Cinderpelt does? This was much more sad while at least Cinderpelt would of been able to walk! So sad.

Poor Briarlight trying to help stubborn Mousefur try to get that stupid mouse while the camp was being destroyed. Hopefully she'll get a mate. She'd probably feel like a use to her clan if she was a queen. She has very strong front legs.

2 Cinderpelt A medicine cat from the book series Warriors by Erin Hunter. She is a small, fluffy, sleek and soft-furred, smoky dark gray she-cat with wide blue eyes. She started out as a Warrior apprentice, but was forced to train to be a medicine cat instead after a monster breaking her leg on the Thunderpath. She died saving Sorreltail and her newborn kits from badgers. She new of her death in advance, but accepted it. She was reincarnated as Cinderheart so she could accomplish her life-long dream of becoming a warrior and her spirit was released by Lionblaze, before the battle with the Darkforest

Cinderpelt wanted to be such a good warrior, but then she crippled her leg and became a medicine cat. She even saved Blueustar from getting killed my Tigerstar! (maybe) If it wasn't for Cinderpelt trying to get to Tigerstar, it might have been Bluestar. She saved her leaders life, even without knowing but I really wanted her to be a warrior.

This disability is way sadder than Briarlight's in my opinion. I mean, Briarlight can't walk anymore, but at least she's still a warrior. She can have a mate in the future if she falls in love. Her mother basically forgets about her other kits and fawns over her every need. Yes, her injury is sad, but nothing compared to Cinderpelt's. The car crushed not only her leg, but also her dreams. She wants to be a warrior, she wants to be Firestar's mate. But she can't because the path of a medicine cat is chosen for her. She has to hide her feelings and pretend that Firestar is nothing more that her leader and friend. I can't even imagine what it feels like to watch him fall for Sandstorm, watching them so happy together, and later on delivering his daughters. All the while knowing it could've been her if the monster hadn't crushed her leg...

Cinderpelt was such a good character! And if the others had just looked closely they would realize that Cinderpelt was still able to hunt and do everything a warrior could do- she just had a little limp! Also I don't wanna be rude to Briarlight but why did she get to become a warrior but Cinderpelt did not? Cinderpelt could run and hunt and fight while Briarlight couldn't.

People really underestimate her! She's the strong beautiful she-cat she'll always be! Sure she didn't get to become a warrior, but she's beautiful in every way! Sure she didn't get Firestar, but she'll always be the beautiful cat we all know and love

3 Brightheart Brightheart is a character from Warriors by Erin Hunter. She is a white she-cat with ginger patches. As an Apprentice she got attacked by dogs and got half of her face torn off. Her mate is Cloudtail and her kits are Whitewing, Ambermoon, Dewnose, and Snowbush.

I love Brightheart so much and I do not like anyone who thinks that's she's weird and/or dumb just because of her face. Her and Cloudtail love each other and thy are perfect together. The poor little cat just wanted to help her Clan and become a warrior just like Cloudtail and everyone has to be a bully about it! Cloudtail is nice and he taught her how to be a warrior without the other eye. He taught her special moves, in fact, I think Brightheart is one of the best fighters in ThunderClan because enemy Clans will be expecting the normal battle moves while Brightheart was other techniques up her fur. I was enraged when Bluestar decided to call her "Lostface," I preferred the name Brightheart. Brightheart is one of the best cats in her Clan and this is coming from someone who they're third favorite character is Jayfeather! - Moonstar of ThunderClan

As an apprentice, she was bitten by dogs and almost died like her brother Swiftpaw. Her eye was scratched and scarred and cats cripple when they saw her for the first time. When healing, she was afraid when cats approach her wrong side. after she healed, Cloudtail took her under his wing and they developed a new and effective fighting style. When she became a warrior, Bluestar called her a cruel name, but Firestar fixed that and called her Brightheart. She then became mates with Cloudtail and they had one kit.

I feel so bad for Brightheart. Just look at her poor face! It's Bluestar and Tigerstar's fault that she is scarred! Bluestar for not making her a warrior. Tigerstar for feeding the dogs!

I would not have survived that dark time if it wasn't for Cloudtail. He gave me another destiny, and I knew that no matter what I looked like, I would be all right. As long as Cloudtail loved me, I was no longer Lostface, but Brightheart. -Brightheart in Secrets of the Clans, page 14

4 Crookedstar Crookedstar is a huge, light brown tabby tom with green eyes and a twisted jaw.

Crookedstar was a RiverClan leader in the forest territories. He was born as Stormkit to Rainflower and Shellheart alongside his brother, Oakkit. Following an accident in which he broke his jaw, Stormkit was renamed Crookedkit at the request of Rainflower. She disowned him, leading to Crookedkit running away from the Clan. After returning, he was apprenticed as Crookedpaw to Cedarpelt. He was continually visited in his dreams by Mapleshade, who trained him and demanded he stay loyal to RiverClan above all else. ...read more.

At least Briarlight has a mother who basically forgets the other kits she has and fawns over her every need... Rainflower rejected her son when he needed her the most. Echomist is awesome, taking care of Crookedstar when he was a kit.

I feel really bad for Crookedstar, he was neglected almost his whole life! How would you feel if you had a twisted jaw and al; anyone gave you was a stare!

He is so underrated!

5 Snowkit Snowkit is a character in the series Warrior Cats, he was born deaf and is most known for when he was carried off by a hawk after being unable to hear it. He is described to be a sturdy, deaf white tom with light blue eyes.

This was completely unfair. SnowKit had the potential to become a warrior or even a medicine cat. Yes he was deaf but actual cats communicate through signals and body language, what would have been different with SnowKit? His death was just another example of the insane ablism in Warrior Cats. This is why I believe SnowKit saved this hawks life somehow and they became friends. Even though he's away form the warrior life and his loving mother he's still happier because he isn't judged by his ability to hear. Also he gave himself the name SnowHawk

It's really unfair that they killed the only deaf cat in the series off! He never got a chance to shine and show his true potential. I would like more deaf/disabled characters that go on to be warriors instead of dying or being stuck as a med cat

Stupid eagle! Who kills an innocent kit? I imagine StarClan helping him find some secret language-without-talking and he becomes SNOWSTORM and the med cats find this plant that helps him hear better. He would had been a great character (better then stupid Brambleclaw that's for sure, no offence Brambleclaw fans) and maybe one of the coolest. But Speckletail had to be mouse-brained enough to "train" him and lead him to his death, when Mr. Dumb Eagle swooped in?
-Ravensong

His disability was so sad and it was sadder that he could not become a warrior even even if he did get signals HOW WOULD HE EVEN LEARN THE SIGNALS! But the poor things was so playful he probably still thought that getting picked up by a hawk was a roller-coaster.

What is even sadder is that when he was playing with brambleclaw he did not even know what was happening.

Plus he could not be a med cat because he could not learn to be a med can this cat just makes me cry he lived such a sad life.

6 Longtail Longtail is a lean, pale brown or silver tabby tom with black stripes, a "V"-shaped nick in his ear and a long tail. ...read more.

I was kind of sad when he died. Firestar is my favorite character but Longtail didn't deserve to die. And he was not used to living completely blinded, it would be similar to waking up on day and everything was pitch black. I think that this cat has experienced too much death. At least he and Mousefur are together in StarClan. He had such good eyesight and according to Mousefur his eyes were as sharp as a hawk's. Stupid rabbit. - Moonstar of ThunderClan

Longtail was extremely sad when he was blinded by the stupid rabbit, and you have to feel bad for him when Mousefur says that before he had had eyes as sharp as hawks.

When he got hurt I felt joy. He tries to save a mouse, cripples another cat, and it's his fault. How was he ever made a warrior? I'm glad he died.

He's like, my fave tom. He had such good eyesight but lost it. Yes, he was annoying and mean at first when RUSTY came in.

7 Jayfeather Jayfeather is a character in the Warrior Cats series. He is part of The Three, along with Lionblaze and Dovewing, and has the power to read other cats' minds, emotions, and walk into other cats dreams, He was born blind. according to the Warrior Cats Wiki Jayfeather is a lean, mottled, pale gray tabby tom with blind, pale blue eyes like a jay's wing. He has thin and silky fur, and a scar running down one side. In fanart Jayfeather is depicted sometimes with his "beloved" stick that he uses to go back in time to become jay's wing.

Actually, I remember thinking that it would be cool to be blind, or at least half-blind. I still think I'd like either breaking my jaw (like Crookedstar), or losing one eye, but I could never be completely blind. Then I'd never see Lightstep jumping around, or see any of my friends. I just realized a while back that it would be sad to not know what any of my friends look like.

Jayfeather's grumpiness has earned him as one on my favorite warriors characters. The fact that he is blind is cool, and it adds a whole new level of mysteriousness to his character.

I think Jayfeather's blindnesses is actually cool & good as it adds a bit to his personality, grumpy sarcastic & sassy, I think he would do fine if people stoped BABYING Him Already! He is my favourite cat & if you tell me he isn't yours, you have got a serious problem! 😉

The reason he's always so grouchy s because people BABY him! He doesn't need other cats help! Just because he's blind doesn't mean he's helpless!

8 Deadfoot Deadfoot is a small, lean black tom with an unusable twisted left paw. His mother is Meadowslip and his father was Hickorynose. As a kit, he was called Hopkit. Hopkit was born with a twisted paw so when he got his apprentice name Heatherstar changed it to Deadpaw. He was a WindClan deputy, and now in StarClan. His sister is Sorrelshine and.his brother is Pigeonflight. Deadfoot soon became mates with Ashfoot. His son was Crowfeather and his daughters where Eaglekit, Hillkit, and Downkit. Deadfoot's mentor was Tallstar.

He isn't that mean. He doesn't deserve getting a twisted leg. Besides, they didn't really have to name him DEADFOOT. what about Twistedfoot?

His foot is dead. He's a nice cat

Just a bit sad

9 Gray Wing

Imagine Gray Wing's kits? Watching their father die? Gray Wing has been in StarClan for so long... free of his asthma. Rest In Peace, dear Gray Wing.

How are holly leaf and Firestar higher! They are just some overrated cats who didn't even have disabilities! Poor grey wing

Sad he can't breath well. I will miss you, creator of clans!

Gray Wing is one of my all-time favorite characters. I was so sad when he died

10 Halftail

Tail bitten by a Badger

The Contenders
11 Jagged Peak

Fell out of a tree and broke his leg. His own brother kicked him out of his group because of this and had to go live with his other brother who was actually kind to poor Jagged Peak ( *glares at Skystar ). He was so miserable until he met Holly and when she got the illness that only the blazing star could cure he was so sad. Now he is the father of Storm Pelt, Eagle Feather and Dew Nose and is very happy living in WindClan with them.

Clear Sky was suck a horrible brother to him! I feel so bad! We all have those brother or sister moments but come on, kicking your own brother away from your group?!

I can't belive that he broke his leg. I feel so bad!

He was such an energetic kit and his life was ruined by that stupid tree fall, then is OWN brother turned him away
At least he holly and the kits

12 Ivypool Ivypool is a fictional character created by Erin Hunter for the Book series named Warrior Cats. Ivypool is a common silver-and-white tabby. She spied in the Dark Forest and has dark blue eyes. She is the sister of Dovewing and the kit of Whitewing and Birchfall. Her mate is Fernsong, and she is the mother of Flipclaw, Bristlefrost, and Thriftear.

Ivypool was such an amazing sis but Dovewing was not grateful at all. Ivypool has been risking her life every day.
Poor Ivypool.

She doesn't have a disability. Just a lot of temporary wounds from the df but that is still not a disability.

She doesn't have a disability why is she here?

13 Hollyleaf Hollyleaf was one of the rare, strictly loyal cats of ThunderClan.

Her birth broke the warrior code, and she killed Ashfur in fear of him revealing the truth over her family. She lived in the tunnels for a while, before rejoining ThunderClan. Hollyleaf was slain by Hawkfrost and spent her last moments with her mother Leafpool saying her last words ”I couldn’t bear to… to leave without knowing my mother.” ...read more.

Here is what happened: tunnels caved in on hollyleaf. She was knocked unconscious. When she woke up she was buried alive, and when she tried to walk, pain shot though her leg. She realised that she was severely injured. That's her injury.

Poor Hollyleaf. I hate you Dovewing for replacing her, and Ivypool! If you didn't get yourself stuck Hollyleaf would had never died!

Wow yes. She had a very bad injury. Good luck fallen leaves helped her. But otherwise that injury would become permanent. It sort of did.

It was sad. So damn sad. She is lucky her leg wasn't crippled for life.

14 Firestar Firestar is a character in the Warrior Cats series. He's the leader of ThunderClan after Bluestar. He's mates with Sandstorm and has 2 kits: Squirrelflight and Leafpool. He was formerly a kittypet named Rusty. Firestar is killed by fatal wounds by the spirit of Tigerstar and a falling tree
Firestar's personality seems to be very courageous and dedicated, he always dose things that he thinks are right, even if it went against the warrior code. Even if Firestar's ideas don't always work, his strength, courage, kindness, and loyalty leads him to be a strong built leader and point of view. Firestar's last words were “I will not die until the forest is safe from you" ...read more.

Firestar is stupid, dumb and annoying and he thinks he rules the whole forest and he deserved his injury.

Firestar was bullied for being a kittypet. people are right, why did he think brambleclaw was like his father!

Very much. Stupid hawkfrost.

HE is overrated honestly

15 Yellowfang Yellowfang was a ThunderClan medicine cat in the original series of Warriors. She initially was a medicine cat from ShadowClan, but she was banished by her son, Brokenstar. She was then found by Firestar, who was then Firepaw, and brought into ThunderClan. Her last words were "Thank you for bringing me to Thunderclan. Tell Bluestar I have always been grateful for the home she gave me. This is a good place to die. I only regret that I will miss watching you become what Starclan has destined you to be."

I mean, I LOVED HER. She was the best mama, best med, and best cat, PROVE ME WRONG! (She did kill her own son but like- Brokenstar sucks, prove me wrong yet again.)

She's a sweet cat underneath all that grumpiness. She didn't deserve the death she got. Yes, she killed her own son, but she did that to save her clan and the other clans too.

She is just an old medicine cat who was doing what was right for her Clan, she had a horrible son who treated her like garbage! Sure she wasn't the best to him either but how would you feel if your own son did these things to you

1. Treated you like garbage.

2. Said lies about you.

3. Drove you out of your own home.

I give her award for being:
Best Mama ever
Best Med Cat ever
Best Cat All Time ever

16 One-Eye

He was star flowers father and he lost his eye to a badger at his kithood. He is evil, I hate him!

Villain with a disability, not good, not bad.

17 Flametail

He didn't deserve anything bad he was just a sweet cat! We learn from this cat that it doesn't matter if you have a disability, you can still be beautiful and amazing inside and out.

I love Flametail and I didn't know about his disability before this. And also, can cats gather herbs to heal other cats and have a connection with StarClan? NO! This is fiction, people!

Flametail really had autism? Did Erin prove that? I didn't really see any obvious signs he did...

He apparently had autism

18 Berrynose

Stop hating on him! He gets his tail chopped off by a fox trap, he loses Honeyfern right when they were talking about a future together, he is half horse place, and he is apparently bossy by showing his apprentice some hunting skills!

Berrynose had a bad temper and all, but when Honeyfern dies right when they are talking about what wonderful kits they would have, you have to feel bad for him.

Berrynose lost half of his tail in a fox trap!

No comment, his disability was sad.

19 Squirrelflight Squirrelflight is a dark ginger she-cat with forest-green eyes. She has one white paw, short legs, a torn ear tip, glossy fur, and a long, squirrel-like, bushy tail. She has a scar running from her chest to the top of her hind leg along her right flank. She is a cat in the series called Warrior Cats. Her father is Firestar, her mother is Sandstorm, and her sister is Leafpool.

It really wasn't that bad. I see why you put it on this list, but the Truth is, Crookedstar, Briarlight, brightheart, cinderpelt, longtail, Firestar, Hollyleaf and jagged peak and all the others on this list had much worse.

Her stomach was cut open in one of the books. She almost died. It wasn't that bad, but it still deserves to be on this list. Probably the mildest injury on the list though.

She faced so much pain!

20 Brokenstar Brokenstar is a villain character from the Warrior Cats series. Brokenstar is a matted, dark brown tabby tom with a broad, flat face, a bent tail, and orange eyes. Brokenstar was a former Shadowclan leader and a member of the Dark Forest. His mother is Yellowfang and his father is Raggedstar.

I think he was mentally corrupted, because cats should not exile their moms and kill their dads for power, and have to be killed by the mom in the end because they were such creeps and losers. That's all I gotta say...

He died by Yellowfang; by eating DeathBerries that Yellowfang gave him, on the Forest of secrets. He is formerly a ShadowClan leader.

He got his eyes clawed out by Yellowfang; his mother. He is now with The Dark Forest

He deserved it!

21 Wildfur

His legs were paralyzed, and no one could save him. I feel like he would have been a interesting character, if he lived

He was said to be paralyzed like Briarlight.

22 Swiftstrike

She didn't break her legs she fractured them. Plus she died from it anyway. (I cried don't judge)

She fractured her pelvis when she was two moons old.

Broke her legs. I think... Not her pelvis.

Who is this cat?

23 Fluttering Bird Fluttering Bird is a tiny brown she cat with sleek fur and yellow eyes. Her mother is Quiet Rain and her father is an unnamed cat. She died of starvation as a kit and is now in Starclan.

She died from starvation! And she was only a kit!

24 Twigbranch

A lot of cats die from cars. Twigbranch survived and she can still walk.

Curse those cars

She got hit by a car once, she did not get any disabilities out of it

25 Ratpelt
