Best Songs on Kataklysm's Meditations

Track 6

Aggressive and has a good amount of melody to keep up with balance. The vocals are more varied, with some of the songs alternating between growls and shrieks, which I think is a nice experimentation. The riffs and solo are really solid too. I love the brief slow bridge, considering it displays a nice range of musicianship for the band. Overall, one of my favorite tracks in the album.

Track 10

This track has the best balance between aggression and melody in this album. The lyrics, although grim, are actually pretty solid and the musicianship is really tight. Gotta say, one of the best Meditations has to offer.

Track 7

Energetic intro and the tone remains clear. The song's lyrics pretty gloomy, but it somehow juxtaposes nicely with the instrumental tone and the vocal aggression. Overall, an impressive display of musicianship for the band.

Track 9

Great intro and the instrumentals are on its best on this album. The vocals and lyrics help in the song's heaviness, as does its riffs and drumming. In addition, the bridge's mellow tone make for an interesting addition. A standout track for Meditations in my opinion :).

Track 2
Chuggy and rough. I also like how the riff maintains a good balance between mellow and heavy. Also, the voice over in the bridge really adds into the atmosphere.

Track 1

Gotta say, I like how the song starts ominously with a voice-over about how good men doing nothing leads to evil's triumph. Also, the melodic aggression and angry growls helps with the song's tone.

Track 3

Has an ominous intro, which is quite effective. Pretty aggressive and the lyrics flow in pretty well to in my opinion.

Track 5

Fast and chuggy, with a nice area of melody, alongside some good riffs. Vocals flow in pretty well and the lyrics are actually solid as well.

Track 8

A bit heavier in instrumentals, but still somewhat mellow. The lyrics are fine, the vocals and voice-overs work well and the riffs are good, but I don't think there's much this offers.
