122 Dionysus

Unfortunately, the band is no more, and they just released 3 albums...but they are the pure expression of power metal, with awesome and sometimes beautiful lyrics, with amazing armonies and the singer's voice is unique.

123 Thy Majestie Thy Majestie Thy Majestie is an Italian power metal band that formed in 1999. Their music is typically cinematic, epic, symphonic, progressive and darker than typical power metal with symphonic influences.

124 Salamandra
125 Twilightning

Severely under-rated band... Excellent vocals, articulate guitar work, a drummer who can keep up with the rest of the band... And all tied together with such well written lyrics that even after 5 years of listening, I still find interpretations and themes in songs I thought I already had all figured out. If you like power metal, these guys are worth your time.

I've been listening to power metal for 10 years and nothing I've heard came close to these guys. Great vocals, epic guitar work. It's sad how underrated this band is. Perfection!

126 Thunderstone

127 Evertale
128 Arion
129 Grand Magus

I would be subjective if I were to give an opinion on this guy. All I can say is that they are really underrated or simply not known, but there guys deserve a top 20 in my opinion. Listen and see for yourself.

130 Stormwarrior
131 Manticora

This band is surprisingly great.
After a long search for a new great power metal
Band, POOF.
I found Manticora
Song:the chance of dying in a dream; great song
Album:darkness with tales to tale; just hear this album.

132 Triumph Triumph Triumph is a Canadian hard rock power trio that was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Between the band's 16 albums and DVDs, Triumph has received 18 gold and 9 platinum awards in Canada and the United States.
133 Versailles

Versailles and Sonata Arctica are my favorites, love them. Seen both live and they were great.

Versailles is a great band. They play a very different power metal.
Hizaki and Teru are god guitar players, and Yuki is an awesome drummer. I don't like Kamijo's voice too much, but it's ok.

Heck yeah, Versailles are amazing! Too bad the bassist died, though. They should get back together!

134 Alestorm Alestorm Alestorm is a heavy metal band originally from Perth, Scotland. Their music is characterized by a pirate theme, and as a result they have been dubbed a "pirate metal" band by many critics and their fanbase.

Alestorm is hands down the best power metal I've ever listened to. Nobody makes pirate themed music like this. It's beautiful in every way

Pirates and power metal. Can't get much better than that!

One of the best bands I have ever heard. Such good.

Awesome band. so unique. best at what they do

135 X Japan X Japan X Japan is a Japanese heavy metal band from Chiba, formed in 1982 by drummer Yoshiki and lead vocalist Toshi.

Surely, not vastly known for being specifically a 'power metal' band any more but they did, in fact, begin as a power metal band and their music of that genre exceeds a lot of those in the western mainstream. Now that they are considered 'world music' due to their variety and pure brilliance, I think it would be unfair if they took 1st on this list, so, there.

X Japan is really cool but not exactly Power metal, more like speed metal?

This is not even a power metal band.

137 WarCry

One of the best Spanish bands

138 Voyager

Saw Voyager open for Rhapsody of Fire and was totally hooked from then on. The 'Meaning of I' album released in 2011 is one of my favorite metal albums of all time. Not too many power metal bands have a female guitarist who can shred like Simone Dow.

139 Bejelit

Heavy-Power metal band from Italy
