Greatest Democratic U.S. Presidents
He helped end the Great Depression which was escalated during the Hoover presidency. He removed America from the Gold Standard, his secretary of agriculture Henry Wallace helped farmers recover from the crippling depression, he ended prohibition, introduced the New Deal which prevented another financial crisis until the policies of the New Deal were removed in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. He also played a major role in ww2 doing much of the work on the western front and moving forward against Japan.
If he had lived a little bit longer, he would have ended the second WW, ended Nazism, strengthened Democracy and fought Communism. He was already a groundbreaking hero of many nations and a polio survivor.
I loved his executive order that placed American citizens of Japanese descent into internment camps.
How anyone can rank Kennedy above FDR, I'll never know. FDR changed world history. Had it not been for the US entry into WWII, none of Europe would be free today.
If Kennedy served a full term in office, he would be considered as the greatest president in history. Yes, the flaws he had regarding the Bay of Pigs invasion may have proved the US as a laughing stock because it is a superpower. But, what makes him the greatest president was his charisma as he inspired Americans to not fear in the Cuban Missile Crises.
Kennedy warned people of the lies in the government in his secret society speech saying that the government acts behind the citizens backs.
He forsaw the decline of Latin America. And to prevent massive emigration from their home-land. Created a program called: "ALLIANCE. FOR. THE. PROGRESS". Where the US would teach Ranchers, how to make their land more productive. In addition, he demanded from every Nation to have their school with a cafeteria to have their pupils well fed. Right after he was so vile assassinated, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico, that I particular knows of closed those coffee shops. However, I bet the whole continent did the same. THIS. WAS. THE. WORSE. BETRAYAL IN. HUMAN. HISTORY.
He was the best Democrats President.
A great president. Saved the US economy from financial collapse in the housing market, with reforms such as Dodd-Frank and the Stimulus Bill, which injected a lot of money back into the economy and kept many lifelines such as Social Security going, as well as funds to businesses to be able to pay their employees, etc. Also gave the US the Affordable Care Act, which helps to protect people against private health insurance companies, by making it illegal to deny someone coverage for pre-existing conditions, and made it so that children could stay on their parent's plan until the age of 21, making it affordable for young people. Appointed Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court, which helped advance progressive causes such as the legalization of gay marriage in Obergefell vs Hodges, as well as other cases brought to the court. A quality human being overall.
You're not voting for him just because he is African American, all being racist not voting for just because he has a different skin tone then you.
Without him the world will be in recession. US should be grateful to someone who helps to pull them out of recession after the mess created by Bush. Democratic party produces better president than republicians
If you compare the ridiculous photo of Obama with the other presidents posted you can tell the person who put this survey together is a bias.
Single-handedly achieved some of the greatest progress on civil rights in the United States, with the 1964 Civil Rights Act, The Great Society programs, and the appointment of Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court of the United States, which is often overlooked as people harshly criticize him on Vietnam.
He signed the civil rights bills which at the time were needed to battle inequality created Medicare and Medicaid. He also declared the war on poverty and was the last president to impact healthcare until Barack Obama.
The hottest too.
Balanced the budget, appointed two very qualified Supreme Court justices in Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer, helped to create lasting peace in Bosnia after a brutal conflict/tensions between former states of Yugoslavia broke out. Banned assault weapons, and brought about a new philosophy of thinking in the Democratic Party, called "New Democrat" thinking, which seeks to work with the GOP when necessary, and have a centrist platform. Did have many shortcomings (Monica Lewinsky scandal, failure to act on Rwanda) but did a lot of good in his time in office.
Brilliant, relatable, full of compassion and energy and great ideas for our country. A truly wonderful human being!
BJ Clinton is a Long Term Rapist & Sexual Abuser etc.! He belongs in Prison, or at least on the Local county list for SEX Abusers & SEXUAL Criminals! !
Best president in my lifetime. Left us with a surplus. So grateful for him
Not seen as a great president by many, but did a lot of good and helped to bring attention to many issues that are deeply important. He brought attention to the issues of climate change, installing solar panels on the White House, but also encouraged energy independence away from the Middle East. He also brought attention to the importance of human rights, and making global peace a reality, which he helped to achieve through accomplishments such as the Camp David Accords, opening up relations with China, and by returning the Panama Canal back to Panama, which was seen as a structure of colonial oppression by many, as it had been built by Teddy Roosevelt's administration during it's conquests throughout many nations in Latin America. He even runs a center to achieve global peace today, called the Carter Center which has gone to many nations around the world, such as North Korea to achieve diplomacy and a move toward global peace, which won him a Nobel Peace Prize. He also brought ...more
Really Carter and Obama get on the top 10 but he doesn't this guy could have created world peace.
The United States as a nation has a lot to thank him for, as does the global community. Many nations around the world would not be where they are today if it wasn't for the aid given to them by the Marshall Plan, especially Europe and many Asian nations. Had it not been for hi decision to drop two atomic bombs on Japan, other nations such as South Korea could have been taken over, like they nearly were by North Korea during the Korean War, but stopped again thanks to Truman's effort. Not to mention the protection in alliances like NATO, which he helped to start against the potential threat of communism, but also create one of the most successful alliances ever.
He also cared deeply about the American people, and invested a lot in social programs, but also made steps to ensure that everyone could have a fair shot, like the Fair Deal. He also made a massive step towards civil rights progress by desegregating the Armed Forces, which would lead to future civil rights success by his ...more
He was very smart for a man that was not that experienced in major politics, but he led country and it's foreign policy very well.
Annexation of Texas, which lead to war with Mexico which gives us California, Arizona, New Mexico. Then threaten England to sell us Oregon territory. Which gives us western United States. Most underrated for sure.
Shame he doesn't get much recognition. He literally doubled the US land mass in one term.
Also the most underrated President.
Great unifier. Great kind man and leader
This man was an embarrassment to everyone.
