Most Underrated Japanese Bands
Bands which are rarely seen in Japanese rock forums, websites, fansites, file sharing sites, etc but have/had great influence. Most popular bands should not be included here.Rating:
underrated>more popular but still underrated + talent
with exception of Nightmare, which is overpopular in japanese rock forums, all of them are very underappreciated and this is the most underappreaciated legendary band that I know in history of japanese rock because people listening to japanese rock are into newer bands like Dir en grey, Gazette, X-JAPAN, Nightmare, An Cafe, etc.
They got an original sound that no newer bands have. They're known as "musicians' musician" for a reason! A lot of famous jrock musicians look up to them or had been greatly influenced by them. They're definitely underrated!
This band has been around since the beginnings of Visual Kei, and have never had a single lineup change. Not to mention, their music is absolutely genius. I have never met a single person who disliked their music. Truly an underrated band.
Terribly underrated band, they have many fantastic albums.
I liked them ever sence Death Note!
Yasu has an epic voice. It's really unique and yeah I agree. This band need way more attention, including his other band.. 'Acid Black Cherry'. Dolls is such a catchy and great song by Janne the Arc!
They need a lot more attention!
Hard to find online - name gets hits for all sorts of unrelated content
Disbanded, but that's not a reason to forget about them. Their music was really unique. They had one of the best bassists in Japan (so underrated as well) and a really good vocalist with really strong and unique voice. Their live performances were also always creative, original and simply fun to watch. They definitely deserve more attention!
If I weren't a huge BUCK-TICK fan, I would never hear of them, even though great part of Japanese music industry is connected to them at some point. Issay himself is a great inspiration for many vocalists and performers in general. They reactivated not long time ago, which that means people wanted to hear them again. And still nobody ever says a word about them when it comes to "artists who started visual kei", "most influential bands", not to mention "the greatest artists all the time". That's really sad. Please, go and listen to their song "Der Rhein", you'll know what I'm talking about.
Meh, they are not as underrated as most bands in Japan, but everyone I know always go for DEG, the GazettE, L'arc~en~Ciel etc... Maximum the Hormone is not band... Just no one gives them a try...
Laugh out loud at Buddha, that is so true, fangirls only care about visual kei nowadays...
Ronluna? What's wrong with newer Japanese bands? How come we have to listen to older bands? MTH is from the 90's anyway. And so is Dir en Grey.
No one accepts this band cause they don't do visual kei. Fangirls...
Oh my God! It's so hard to find good quality samples of their music anywhere! Such a shame! Such a great band!
