Set in Boston, much of the filming was done at locations in Toronto, Ontario, "with the University of Toronto standing in for the interiors of MIT and Harvard University. The classroom scenes were filmed at McLennan Physical Laboratories (of the University of Toronto) and Central Technical School." (wiki)
Also, only the exterior shots of Bunker Hill Community College were filmed in Boston and Sean's office was actually built in Toronto as an exact replica of one at the college.

This and American Psycho are much better than that cheesy Chicago featuring Renee Zelleger's annoying silent voice.

"The courthouse scene was shot in Osgoode Hall. Other scenes were filmed at Queen's Park, the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery, Casa Loma, the Elgin Theatre, Union Station, the Canada Life Building, the Danforth Music Hall, and at the Old City Hall.
All vocal coaching for the film was led by Toronto-based Elaine Overholt, whom Richard Gere thanked personally during his Golden Globe acceptance speech."

4 Brokeback Mountain

Supposed to be in Wyoming, actually shot in the Rocky Mountains, in the province of Alberta.
"While the film is set in Wyoming (like the original story), it was filmed almost entirely in the Canadian Rockies in southern Alberta. Lee was given a tour of the locations in the story in Wyoming by Proulx but chose to shoot in Canada due to financial reasons. The fictional "Brokeback Mountain" was named to suggest a physical feature, after a term used for a swaybacked horse or mule. The mountain featured in the film is a composite of Mount Lougheed south of the town of Canmore and Fortress and Moose Mountain in Kananaskis Country.
The campsites were filmed at Goat Creek, Upper Kananaskis Lake, Elbow Falls and Canyon Creek, also in Alberta. Other scenes were filmed in Cowley, Fort Macleod, and Calgary." [Wiki]

Not entirely filmed in Canada but many scenes were shot in the province of Alberta (supposed to be Smallville, U.S.A.)
