Best Animated Movie Sequels of all Time (Excluding Second Installments)
A lot of movies that are big hits recieve at least one sequel, which is usually either great, decent or bad. However if lucky they'll recieve even more installments (although maybe not always so lucky), so that's what we're going to look at now. The best animated movie sequels that aren't second installments. So here's the list!I have always been a fan of the Kung Fu Panda movie trilogy. It's very fun and very actio-filled with great plots and villians. I'd consider them to be among the best of Dreamworks animated movies. I really loved the first one, and the second was about as good, but the third entry is definitely the best one. Excellent new story, Kai is the best villian here, and very original as well. It might look like the most light-hearted movie in the series, but it gets darker once further you go into the movie
Absolutely. In my opinion Despicable Me 3 is the best currently animated movie sequel. It's the only animated movie sequel excluding a second installment that's also in my top ten best movies of all time. Very huge fan of the movie. The character development is one of the best in any Illumination movie and Balthazar Bratt is one of the best villians of all time. Excellent motivations and design and one of the best things of the movie. A few flaws can be found such as that stalker of Margo, and a few uninteresting sub-plots but aside from that, the pros outweight the cons heavily
I mean, it has dinosaurs, enough said. I have always loved dinosaurs and jungle settings and that kinda made me love this movie automatically. Now the whole story that there was another world below the ice age was kinda questionable, and the beggining wasn't too memorable, I love this movie a lot. And Buck is awesome as well
Oh well, gotta say my true opinion. I think the fourth and third Ice Age movies are almost equally as great, but the fourth one was slightly more memorable and better. I think it's the most memorable one of the series, as back when I wanted to rewatch the series, this was the only one I remembered anything about and it will stay as my favourite of the series. Sure, the teenage mammoths and the beggining of the movie were pretty bad, and the lemmings were annoying, but I loved the pirate setting and the overall plot otherwise
This was one of the only movies of 2018 I bothered seeing, and this was mainly because I am a huge fan of the hotel transylvania trilogy. I'm not going to be too obsessive, but the first one was my favourite animated movie of all time, and the sequel was alright but disappointing. This one's better than the second installment and is very colourful, and I thought the villians were quite good, even if the movie has flaws
As you know most likely know, as this was one of the first things I ever revealed about me on the site, I think Shrek the Third is the best movie in the Shrek series suprisingly, although Shrek 2 makes a close second. I really loved the villian here, and his motivations were pretty good and it's much more depressing and darker than the other movies. Shrek's dream was quite scary as well I gotta say. Hands down the scariest of the series as well
If my calculations are correct, this movie is going to be voted up to number #1, while it will stay at #10 in my remix. Funny how opinions are so different at times. I enjoyed the movie, especially the story and emotion, but it's a bit overrated. I really hated the jokes and the new characters (excluding Lotso) are overall uninteresting
No way is this not 1
I've only seen this movie once, and it was a few years ago, but I remember liking it a lot. It's the only aladdin movie I've seen but I really liked the story and characters. Very enjoyable and Aladdin's dad's character was among my favourites here. Very underrated movie I must say honestly
I think Cars 2 is the overall best Cars movie due to being more exciting and stuff. Cars 3 is somewhat boring but they did a good job with the movie. Unlike the original which was just boring, Cars 3 has a pretty good plot and is actually exciting in some parts. Really liked the new characters such as Cruz Ramirez, but Chick Hicks, my favourite from the first one makes a cameo luckily here as well and I love it
Originally I hated this movie. After rewatching it in 2018, I started to like it very much, in fact I don't think it's the worst Shrek movie anymore (that title goes to the first movie). It still has its flaws, but now I have grown to like it more. It's hands down the most depressing movie of the series (but it doesn't have the dark tone like the third one unfortuanely) and the movie actually has a pretty good message, because you shouldn't live in the past, you should be thankful about what you have now
Great conclusion to great trilogy, enough said.
