Top Ten Cartoon Characters with the Most Abusive Parents

These are animated characters who are unfairly abused.

The Top Ten
  1. Zuko (Avatar the Last Airbender)

Prince Zuko is a fictional character in Nickelodeon's animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Zuko is a master firebender and the older brother of Azula. He is the son of Firelord Ozai and Princess Ursa.

Zuko's character arc centers on his journey to reclaim his honor. Initially... read more

I'd love to see Zuko retaliate against Ozai and get rewarded for it. If Azula sides against him, may he burn her to death. After all, I sympathize with that prince-turned-Fire Lord due to having a dad and sister who ruined my life.

Ozai deserves to rot in hell for what he did to Zuko. And it's not because Zuko is my crush, but because he treated him in a way no child deserves to be treated.

His father, Ozai, always favored Azula over him. He also brutally scarred Zuko and tried to kill him multiple times.

  2. Butters Stotch (South Park)

Leopold "Butters" Stotch is a fictional character from the animated television series South Park. He is voiced by series co-creator Matt Stone and is loosely based on co-producer Eric Stough. Butters is known for his naive, cheerful personality and often finds himself in unfortunate or absurd situations... read more

I feel so bad for him! His parents ground him for the littlest things, and they constantly yell at him. The worst part is when his parents sold him to Paris Hilton.

Poor Butters, he has the worst parents I have ever seen in my life.

  3. Meg Griffin (Family Guy)

Megan "Meg" Griffin is a fictional character from the animated television series Family Guy. She is the teenage daughter of Peter and Lois Griffin and often portrayed as a social outcast. Meg was originally voiced by Rachael MacFarlane in the pilot, then by Lacey Chabert for the first season, and has... read more

Meg has been treated very poorly by her father. He slaps her, beats her, throws things at her, sits on her head and farts on her, and in a cutaway in "Peter's Daughter," he greets her by shooting her in the face at point-blank range. She is also frequently belittled by her mother, Lois, who calls Meg disgusting for having a normal womanly problem, and at one point even implied that Meg should commit suicide.

Everyone talks about Peter's abuse towards Meg, but Lois is just as bad. She slips cruel remarks into conversations with her daughter that no mother should ever think of saying.

During the episode where Meg went off on her parents about their abuse, it was empowering in a sense. It was perfect because she described their horrific behavior immaculately.

  4. Helga Pataki (Hey Arnold!)

Helga Pataki is a main character in the 1990s Nickelodeon animated series Hey Arnold! created by Craig Bartlett. She is best known for her bossy personality and her tendency to bully other kids. Despite her abrasive behavior, Helga harbors a secret love for Arnold.... read more

Helga's parents are no better than Timmy Turner's parents! They pay more attention to Olga than to her and constantly neglected her when she was little. They are so mean! Big Bob is a neglectful and abrasive jerk, while Miriam is a forgetful and alcoholic witch. When Helga had to walk all the way to preschool, she was miserable, and her parents paid no attention to her at all. They couldn't care less if she was picked on by hoodlums or got lost. Shame on those parents!

I bet it would be better if Helga ran away from home, was found, and adopted by a kinder and more loving family who would treat her as one of their own. At least Helga would be happier then.

  5. Pacifica Northwest (Gravity Falls)

Pacifica Northwest is a character in the cartoon Gravity Falls, created by Alex Hirsch. She is known for her wealth and initially serves as a rival to Mabel Pines. Over the course of the series, Pacifica undergoes significant character development, revealing a more compassionate side.

Pacifica pretty much started out as a one-note spoiled brat. I'm pretty sure Mabel even calls her that in an episode. However, as we learn more about her, we understand the reasons why she acts the way she does, and she transforms into a very sympathetic and surprisingly relatable character.

Watch the episode Northwest Mansion Mystery. Her parents emotionally abuse her to an extent, and they only care about her looks and achievements instead of spending time with her.

  6. Timmy Turner (The Fairly Odd Parents)

Timothy "Timmy" Tiberius Turner is a ten-year-old boy who is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the American animated series The Fairly OddParents, created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. He is known for having fairy godparents who grant his wishes, often leading to comedic and chaotic... read more

His parents don't believe him when he says Vicky is evil, except at the end of Channel Chasers and Vicky Gets Fired.

His parents and not just Vicky should be in jail so Cosmo and Wanda can adopt him!

    His parents always neglect him.

  7. Raven (Teen Titans)

  8. Diamond Tiara (My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic)

Diamond Tiara is a school-age female Earth pony and a minor antagonist who first appears in Call of the Cutie. She is portrayed as a snobbish and often bullying character in the early seasons of the show. She and Silver Spoon are classmates of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

Her mother, Spoiled Rich, is emotionally abusive towards her. She yells at Diamond Tiara for losing, raised her to be a bully, and cares more about her social standing than about Diamond Tiara herself.

Her mother is a good reason why she bullies the other foals in school, especially in the earlier seasons.

  9. Princess Clara (Drawn Together)

Even though I hate Drawn Together, sometimes I feel bad for Clara because her father constantly neglects her. He also had her strip for him once, which was awful.

  10. Uncle Ruckus (The Boondocks)

His adoptive father constantly abused him, sometimes for no reason, and is the reason why his face is all messed up.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Ragatha (The Amazing Digital Circus)

  13. ?

    Amity Blight (The Owl House)

  14. The Contenders
  15. Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Phineas and Ferb)

Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz is a fictional character and the primary antagonist of the animated series Phineas and Ferb. He is the founder and CEO of Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated and is known for creating elaborate devices called Inators in his attempts to take over the Tri-State Area. Despite his villainous... read more

I feel bad for him. None of his parents ever showed up to his birth. He was raised by ocelots, and he had to give his favorite stuffed animal away to Roger. Heinz was always neglected, and Roger was favored. His parents cared about lawn gnomes more than him! He also had to dress up like a girl for school and then dress up like a lawn gnome, standing in front of the yard forever with no food!

It's easy to see why Heinz became a villain - his parents were just terrible to him.

It's a miracle he survived to adulthood.

  16. Ling Ling (Drawn Together)

  17. Sam (Danny Phantom)

  18. Courage (Courage the Cowardly Dog)

Courage is a fictional character and the titular main protagonist of the Cartoon Network animated series Courage the Cowardly Dog. The show originally aired from 1999 to 2002. Courage is a pink dog who often faces bizarre and supernatural threats to protect his owners.

More like Abusive Owners. While Muriel is nice, Eustace is the opposite. He constantly abuses Courage, such as calling him "stupid dog" in the intro. The worst was in the episode "Perfect," where Eustace made Courage feel horrible for making one little mistake.

  19. Lena De Spell (DuckTales 2017)

  20. Ashi (Samurai Jack)

Ashi was the deuteragonist of the fifth and final season of Samurai Jack, an American animated television series created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. She was the eldest of the Daughters of Aku, a group of septuplet sisters trained from birth as assassins to kill Jack. After... read more

Her own mother treated her and her sisters like living weapons by putting them through rigorous and brutal training, showing no compassion or love for any of them. I felt quite sorry for how Ashi lived in fear of her own mother.

You could probably tell how satisfied I was when Ashi finally killed her mother to protect Jack.

Let's not forget that AKU of all people is her biological father. Given that he's evil incarnate, he obviously isn't going to treat his daughter the way he should.

  21. P.J. Pete (Goof Troop)

Anyone else want to reach through the screen and give him a hug?

  22. Ed (Ed Edd n Eddy)

Ed is one of the three main characters in the Canadian-American animated television series Ed, Edd n Eddy. He is the strongest and least intelligent member of the Eds. Ed is known for his simple-mindedness, immense strength, and love of comic books and monster movies.

  23. Mr. Cat (Kaeloo)

His parents (and siblings) treated him horribly and physically and emotionally abused him, which explains why he's such a jerk to everyone else.

Seriously, his parents were awful. Every time he gives a flashback to his childhood, he looks as though he's about to cry.

  24. Dora (GoAnimate)

  25. Kyle Broflovski (South Park)

Kyle Broflovski is a main character in the animated television series South Park. He is voiced by and loosely based on co-creator Matt Stone. Kyle is known for his strong moral compass and often serves as the voice of reason among the group.

  26. Lincoln Loud (The Loud House)

Lincoln Loud is the main character in The Loud House, an animated series that premiered on Nickelodeon in 2016. He is the only boy among eleven children and often navigates the chaos of living with his ten sisters through creative problem-solving. The show is known for its humor and depiction of family... read more

How is Lincoln so low on the list? His parents kicked him out of the house in one episode. They should be in jail for 30 or more years, and the pets should go to pet jail. The kids would spend many years in juvie, especially Lynn Jr., because she caused it. She should get five years in juvie, then 55 years in jail, so 60 years total. She'd be out at 73.

  27. Goten (Dragon Ball Z)

Goten is a fictional character from Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga and its anime adaptation Dragon Ball Z. He is the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi and the younger brother of Gohan. Goten is known for his early ability to transform into a Super Saiyan and for fusing with Trunks to form Gotenks.

  28. Zeus (Disney's Hercules)

Just like in Greek mythology, his dad Cronos attempted to eat him.

  29. Caillou (GoAnimate)

His dad grounds him for dumb reasons, or even for no reason at all, like what Boris does to most of his kids.
