Saddest Deaths In Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

The Top Ten
1 Maes Hughes Maes Hughes is a fictional character from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga series and its adaptations created by Hiromu Arakawa.

At the start its O.M.G He might live aspect, then its NOOO! He was suck a lovable character talking about his family, along side the more sirius Colonel he was SO FUNNY! His daughter at the funeral crying saying that know can burry him mades his death so much sadder, after that its Ed and Al not knowing about his death and saying they will thank him was devastating. He's death was so post to be making u cry, there was a reason he was so lovable. This also help the audience connect to the Colonel since Ed wasn't helping and lead to ETHYS DEATH

I don't watch this anime but I saw this scene and it was really sad...Elica was saying that he didn't finish his work and he needs to finish it, and didn't know what was really happening. That was the saddest thing about it, but just the fact that this character died is sad, because I have seen scenes of this character and he was great. ;_;

Hughes was one of my favorite characters (WAS). The part that got me, well, parts, was when he was putting Elicia to bed, then glacia said "Just come back safe, okay? " (Or whatever). Then when Elicia said something about Hughes having to finish his work-- She doesn't understand death.

It was pretty sad, but then Elica starts crying about how "Daddy still needs to finish his work! He hasn't finished yet! " (I know, not a direct quote.) but that part got me. That was so sad that Hughes was leaving his family! And he got killed so brutally!

2 Greed

I'll admit, Greed wasn't my favourite character but he wasn't my least favourite either. But what really got me to cry was when right before he died, he realized that he had everything that he wanted in life. The irony that Greed was satisfied with the things he had right as he died is what got me to bawl my eyes out. Greed's death was by far one of the saddest deaths and no one can tell me otherwise.

His death was so sad and yet I laughed because of his personality and how the whole thing just kind of came. But his death was definitely super sad.

I couldn't stop crying. Greed is my favourite character, and his death was the saddest thing I've ever seen. I can't even, I'm going to cry...

If the first anime didn't exist, this would probably be first on the list. Greed in Ling's body when he died... I have no words

3 Van Hohenheim

His smiling death, ending song
and special credits showing flasbacks of his life afterwards... The brief scene reaching out to Trishas hand... Learning about his life, realizing he is just a poor guy who wants to live and die with his family... He had to learn to live with souls of his nation, talk with them and try to keep his sanity for years. How could you blame him for leaving his family? He sure is the deepest character.

So sad when pinokka said he died with a smile on his face. I teared up the skin on my hand just so I wouldn't cry. (My family makes fun of me for crying in movies). It's him, Nina, greed, or Hughes that was the saddest.

Really sad death, handled very well. No tacky cheesy quotes. Just Van talking to his wife's grave before slowly passing away.

He spent his entire life to save the country, he talked with all the should within him, placed them all the Nationwide, wanted just to live a normal life with this family and had to die alone with the grave of his wife, the second the music hits in it hurts to see the man died with a smile so real

4 Nina Tucker Nina Tucker is a fictional character from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga series and its adaptations created by Hiromu Arakawa.

I don't know why people get so mad at scar, think about the life she would have to live if she was still alive and a Chimera. She would be tortured so badly. I get it- her death was sad, but please don't get mad at scar he's too awesome of a character.

This is sad she was so nice but she finish like that, SHE HAVE 4years old why nina why?!

I was really sad about this one. I had a friend cry over it.

Nina is such a sad name now...

5 Envy

SPOILER ALERT! You have been warned.

Envy death was by far the saddest one. His ultimate form is a giant lizard with MULTIPLE humans sticking out of it. in my opinion, this was his way of trying to get that human bond he envied.

He caused so much grief amongst the people by killing the little girl that caused the Ishvalen War, which led to Scar's hatred towards the state alchemists. That caused state alchemists to questioned their own morals. He killed Maes and told Mustang in an attempt to destroys Mustang humanity.

He caused so much discontent within the group of our heroes, that seeing them put aside their differences against a common enemy humiliated him. "How could these lowly creatures look down on me, ON ME?! When I easily tower over them! "

Then finally realizing that he himself was weak. That he was the pathetic creature. Him crying at the realization and everyone doing nothing but looking down on him.

The ultimate blow was him not being ...more

I'm currently up to that episode. And I can already tell you that I'm NOT looking forward to it, I've seen episode 53 (SPOILER ALERT) and that was really sad. Wish Envy lasted the whole season in Brotherhood.

They were a psycho, and a murderer, and despite that I can't help but feel sorry about them. They hid their jealousy and misery under hatred and disgust for humans, even from themselves. I pity them.

He was actually my favorite character, which is kinda weird I know. I really liked his fun and sarcastic personality and I cried for a solid day after he died.

6 Fu

Even worse was Greed/Ling's reaction. BOTH OF THEM cried out for Fu when he jumped at King Bradley, and even though Ling was practically a god he couldn't do anything to save his lifelong bodyguard but cry out for someone to help him.

7 Gluttony

Gluttony wasn't my favorite character, but he is very cute when he gets hurt, like when Lan Fan and Ling starts beating him up, and he's crying out loud because he's getting hurt. His actual death, though, set me off my rocker when he begged for Lust, his mother figure, to come help him when he was being eaten by Pride.

I want him to die because he killed all those many people he ate except The bad people

8 Captain Buccaneer

Such a shame he has too die but what a way to go out!

9 King Bradley King Bradley is a fictional character from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga series and its adaptations created by Hiromu Arakawa.

Take captain america but the serum can kill you, you become the ruler of a country trough bloodsheld and you can't choose anything in your life except your wife, that furher king bradley.

but you can 1 vs 1 a tank and block bullet with a sword so...

His death in fmab made me tear up. I really didn't expect him to be so sentimental in his last moments... he was a rather tragic character if you think about it.

10 Bido

He died thinking he found his friend. He was treated like dirt for being a chimera, and Greed was the only one to give him a chance. He found the new Greed, only to be killed by him. Those last words, "But Mr. Greed, I'm your friend," always get to me.

Why am I so sad over Bido's death?
...

His last words get to me

The Contenders
11 Martel

Her death was so sad it had me nearly crying I'm going to kill king Bradley in his sleep.

Her death was terrifying! Imagine being Al in that scenario!

Her death was so sad! King Bradley is such a jerk

12 Trisha Elric
13 Shou Tucker Shou Tucker is a fictional character from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga series and its adaptations created by Hiromu Arakawa.

I don't remember if he died or not but if he did he really had it coming

14 Winry's Parents
15 Barry the Chopper

His personality was very likable for a murderer. He was so funny I was laughing so hard until he died, then I was crying.

He was the sweetest character I'd ever seen. I was devastated when he died

He was such a funny character but his real body was not stupid thing

16 Roy Mustang Roy Mustang is a fictional character from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga series and its adaptations created by Hiromu Arakawa.
17 Solf J. Kimblee Solf J. Kimblee is a fictional character from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga series and its adaptations created by Hiromu Arakawa.

Awesome last stand in his fight "against" pride!
It gave me the chills!
"You don't understand Edward Elric! "
*waves as he vanishes into oblivion*
