Top 10 Strongest Sternritters in Bleach

The Sternritter are some of the most dangerous foes in Bleach, and if you've read through the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, you know just how devastating they can be. These Quincy warriors, personally chosen by Yhwach, wield abilities that push the limits of what even the most powerful Soul Reapers can handle. Some of them can manipulate reality itself, while others boast overwhelming physical strength, unmatched speed, or terrifying durability.

This list ranks the strongest among them based on their actual combat feats and how well they fared against the Soul Reapers. Some pushed captains to their limits, forcing them to reveal their Bankai. Others took on multiple high-level opponents at once, barely breaking a sweat. A few even had the raw strength to challenge Yhwach's own elite forces. No matter how you look at it, these are the Sternritter who stood out as the biggest threats in the war.

That said, this ranking isn't set in stone. Do you agree with how things are ranked, or do you think someone else deserves the number one spot? Vote for your favorites and see how your choices compare.

Fair warning: if you're not fully caught up with the manga (as of chapter 667), expect major spoilers ahead. Some of the biggest reveals in Bleach come from these battles, and their abilities often defy expectations. So, if you don't want key moments spoiled, this might not be the time to read further.
The Top Ten
Jugram Haschwalth Jugram Haschwalth serves as Yhwach's right-hand man and acts as his substitute when he sleeps. His power, The Balance, allows him to distribute misfortune and fortune between himself and others.

At full power, he has access to Yhwach's Almighty, but it's severely limited. He can also redirect misfortune and fortune, which is already unfair. It's like D4C Love Train from JoJo except it also damages the opponent as well. Needless to say, it's broken. Uryu just happened to have the perfect ability to counter him, and even then, it wasn't enough. Like Gerard, it took Yhwach's stealing his power to finally bring him down.

Haschwalth is Ywach's right-hand man, which definitely counts for something. He is Sternritter "B," although the complete extent of his powers is unknown. Ywach, upon meeting him, says that Haschwalth is his other half, which could mean that he possesses similar abilities. He too has the "Almighty," although it can only be activated when Ywach is asleep, and he does not have full control of the power. He defeated Bazz-B quite easily and then proceeded to kill him.

Lille Barro Lille Barro is the leader of the Schutzstaffel and wields The X-Axis, which lets him fire energy attacks that bypass all defenses. His Schrift also grants him near-immortality by transforming into increasingly powerful divine forms.

He's the leader of the Elite Sternritters, who were at the highest end of the Vandenreich food chain. He's only behind Uryu and Haschwalth in rank. His power is absolutely nuts. He can effectively pierce anything as his ability renders durability useless, and he can effectively make himself invincible while using this power. Physical attacks and even kido will just go right through him.

His vollständig takes this to an entirely new level. Even if he ends up dying, he'll just come back with a stronger divine form. The only way to beat him is to use his own powers against him by reflecting them, and Nanao just happened to have the weapon for it. Against anyone else, though, it's basically game over for them the moment he activates his full powers.

Askin Nakk Le Vaar Askin Nakk Le Vaar wields The Deathdealing, which lets him manipulate lethal doses of substances, including reishi. He is part of Yhwach's Schutzstaffel and proves extremely difficult to kill due to his adaptability.

Askin is Sternritter "D" for "Death Dealing." His ability allows him to calculate the level of lethality it would take for something to kill and change that amount at will. For example, if he consumes blood, he can change its lethality dosage, making it fatal to his opponent. With the other Wandenreich, he defeated the Royal Guard. He also defeated Yoruichi, until finally being killed by Kisuke Urahara, who released his bankai, which allowed him to create a path for Arrancar Grimmjow, who then killed Askin.

Yhwach (Juha Bach) Yhwach is the leader of the Wandenreich and the progenitor of all Quincy. He possesses The Almighty, which grants him the ability to see and alter the future.

He is the leader of the Sternritter, which is why he automatically gets this spot. His letter is "A" for "Almighty," which allows him to see from the present moment into the far future. Any power he "knows" becomes his ally through this power. Ywach defeats the Royal Guard without breaking a sweat and breaks into the Royal Palace soon afterward. He then proceeds to absorb the Soul King. All of these feats, especially the latter, probably put him near or at a god-like level. He also stole Yamamoto's bankai and killed the Captain General.

Gerard Valkyrie Gerard Valkyrie is a member of the Schutzstaffel and wields The Miracle, which enables him to convert damage into physical growth and power. He can regenerate from almost any injury and becomes stronger the more he is attacked.

His immortality is only second to Aizen's. Because he's part of the Soul King, he doesn't age, and his power is like Goku's Zenkai boost on steroids. Not only does killing or injuring him just make him stronger, but he also gets bigger. To make things even more absurd, his speed and everything else increase at the same rate, which is physically impossible.

It's so overpowered that Toshiro just ends up calling him a monster that defies reason. And I haven't even mentioned his sword. His sword is a manifestation of the metaphysical concept of people's "hope." If his sword gets chipped by an opponent, the opponent gets damaged as well at a disproportionate rate. So if you chip off a centimeter of the sword, you get a huge slash across the chest. It's so unfair that even he tries to refrain from using it because it would be too cruel for his opponents, much like how Lille Barro tries to hold back by not using his left eye.

Gremmy Thoumeaux Gremmy Thoumeaux possesses The Visionary, which allows him to manifest anything he imagines into reality. Despite his immense power, his inability to control his imagination ultimately leads to his downfall.

He's a reality warper, and on paper, his power basically lets him do anything he wants. The only reason he lost was that he was so caught up with playing with his food that he ended up getting dangerously cocky. He's so powerful that Askin, one of the Elite Guards, was scared of him. Even Haschwalth was panicking the moment he saw him drop a meteor. It's even mentioned that the rest of the Sternritter were too scared to bear their fangs at him.

Although it's non-canon, a light novel actually said that Gremmy is part of the Soul King, much like how Pernida, Gerard, and Mimihagi were.

Uryū Ishida Uryū Ishida, the last surviving Quincy of his lineage, is granted The Antithesis by Yhwach. This ability allows him to reverse events between two targets, making it a powerful countermeasure in battle.

Like Ywach, he also has the epithet of "A," but it's unknown if he possesses the "Almighty" or a different ability. Ywach also claims that Uryu has the power to surpass him. This is why he has the third spot, but he doesn't have any feats to back it up.

His Antithesis ability is pretty useful. If only he was made stronger without it, he'd be formidable enough to be scary.

Pernida Parnkgjas Pernida Parnkgjas is revealed to be the left hand of the Soul King and possesses The Compulsory. This ability allows it to control and reshape bodies by extending its nerves into them.

Mayuri might be the only one able to kill him. Conventional attacks do nothing. His intelligence grows based on everything his nerves touch. It took unlimited regeneration to kill him.

It was part of the elite Sternritter group arranged by Ywach. Pernida held its own against Mayuri and also gave Yoruichi a challenging fight. Pernida grievously injured Kenpachi (post-training).

Bambietta Basterbine Bambietta Basterbine wields The Explode, which turns anything she attacks into a bomb that detonates instantly. She is a violent and sadistic fighter who relishes destruction in battle.

Can make everything explode effortlessly.

The closest Bleach got to a DBZ character.

She would have been very formidable if she used her abilities in a creative way.

Bazz-B Bazz-B wields The Heat, an ability that grants him mastery over fire-based attacks with immense destructive power. He has a personal vendetta against Jugram Haschwalth due to their shared past.

He overpowered and defeated Hitsugaya. His letter is "H" for "The Heat." He did have an elemental advantage against Toshiro, though, and was also defeated by Haschwalth quite easily.

The Newcomers

? Mask De Masculine Mask De Masculine possesses The Superstar, which enhances his strength and resilience through the cheers of his fan, James. As his support grows, he can regenerate from injuries and unleash devastating attacks.
? Giselle Gewelle Giselle Gewelle wields The Zombie, which allows her to control the bodies of others by infecting them with her blood. Her ability is more effective on those who are already dead, granting her a powerful undead army.
The Contenders
Royd Lloyd Royd Lloyd shares The Yourself with his twin brother, allowing them to perfectly impersonate others, including their personality and memories. He dies after assuming Yhwach's form to deceive Yamamoto in battle.
Äs Nödt Äs Nödt wields The Fear, which inflicts overwhelming terror upon his opponents through his reishi thorns. When using his Vollständig, he amplifies his ability to an absolute level, paralyzing victims with sheer horror.

He was able to defeat Byakuya with medium difficulty and overpowered Renji as well. Nodt also held his own against post-Royal Guard Rukia but was killed by her later on in their battle.

Meninas McAllon Meninas McAllon possesses The Power, which grants her immense physical strength surpassing most other Sternritters. Despite her brute strength, she is relatively soft-spoken compared to her comrades.

She is immensely strong and can increase her physical capabilities.

Candice Catnipp Candice Catnipp wields The Thunderbolt, which allows her to generate and manipulate electricity for high-speed attacks. She fights alongside other female Sternritters in the battle against Ichigo Kurosaki.

Of course the "Thunderbolt" would get a spot. With that electricity, she will shock everyone with her thunder power. She defeated Kenpachi with other Sternritter females, fought Ichigo, and had a hard time against him.

Loyd Lloyd Loyd Lloyd wields The Yourself alongside his twin brother, enabling him to mimic a person's abilities in addition to their appearance. Unlike Royd, his imitation lacks the ability to copy memories and personality.
