Top 10 Best Christmas Songs

The Top Ten
1 Jingle Bell Rock

This is my favorite, and I just opened this list and saw it! I love this song! It is so warm, nice, and amazing! It makes you get into the Christmas spirit!

Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell Rock
Jingle Bells Swing and Jingle Bells Ring
Snowing and blowing, up bushels of fun...

This song is Christmas, it's sweet, upbeat, catchy, and is lovely to listen to. It's fun to dance along with as well. Truly the greatest song about this holiday ever written! That's the jingle bell, that's the jingle bell, that's the jingle bell rock!

For me, this song is the best of them all, even though Jingle Bells and We Wish You A Merry Christmas are pretty good too. I just love Christmas songs, especially Jingle Bell Rock. I am so happy it is on this list, really happy, yes! Now I have the song stuck in my head, laugh out loud. I have never heard Waiting For Christmas, but I am sure it is probably a very good one. Ah, now I have lots of Christmas songs stuck in my head, help me!

2 All I Want for Christmas is You

I LOVE this song! It is so catchy and jumpy, and that's my kind of song! Even better, my budgie Theo loves this song SO much. He will trill, squawk, and chirp all throughout the song and for a while after it! I just love it so much, and it is one of my favorite songs.

This song is the gold standard of Christmas music! There's no wonder why it's played every year as soon as it starts to get cold. Mariah Carey's voice is perfection!

This song is so catchy. It gets you in the Christmas spirit from the moment you hear it. It is lively, upbeat, and happy, and gets you in a good mood. Great song.

3 Silent Night

This song is so great and beautiful that it always brings tears to my eyes. It's so beautiful that it was even recognized as an "intangible cultural heritage" by UNESCO.

This is such a great vocal performance of a song that reminds us of the meaning of Christmas.

A peaceful and beautiful song of the holy night that Jesus was born into this world.

4 Waiting for Christmas

Menowin is a remarkable newcomer with a very unique and impressive voice. Waiting for Christmas... His second single release is a wonderful, emotional ballad, and his voice goes straight to your heart. I'm looking forward to his third single in January and his first album in spring 2012.

Menowin has a wonderful voice, and his feeling for rhythm is fantastic. I'm looking forward to his first album and his live concerts in 2012. Whenever he speaks in interviews, you can see his enthusiasm and his love for music. I wish him all the best!

This Christmas song is just beautiful. It's the best new one I have heard in a very long time. What an exceptionally good voice this guy has! The combination of voice and song is totally awesome. Perfect!

5 White Christmas

Reminds me of Christmas Past, brings joy into Christmas Present, and reminds me to pray for a better future Christmas for those who are far from home. Christmas can be a lonely time, especially for our men and women in uniform.

This is ridiculous. "White Christmas" is the most famous Christmas song, along with "Silent Night". Who's voting here? It must be a very young crowd. And "Jingle Bell Rock" is ahead of "Jingle Bells". I'm baffled.

Just keeps on putting people in the Christmas spirit - memories for young and for old. Powerful word pictures, and that's why every singer puts out his take on the song.

6 Jingle Bells

When I hear this version, I think of Arnold Schwarzenegger chasing down a Turbo Man doll since this version is in Jingle All the Way.

Everyone sings this song every Christmas! This song is the Christmas theme song! How can this possibly be number 12?! This had to be on top!

The classic! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!

7 Last Christmas

I love this song! I sing it all year round! Of course, by now my family dreads it because I sing it so much. If you think about it, surely the love from last year was special as well. I love it so much, so I don't care if people think it's rubbish or if it doesn't make sense. It's brilliant and catchy!

Last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the very next day, you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special.

I like this song regularly, but I absolutely love the Taylor Swift version.

8 Do They Know It's Christmas

This song is great, along with its message. Not everyone can afford Christmas toys, food, and presents. So, we should be giving everything we can to help others.

This is better than Mariah Carey, to be honest, even though it's very overplayed during Christmas. Some Christmas songs get annoying, but I like this one along with a few others.

This should come in at least top 2. I feel as if Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" is slightly underrated.

This song should be much higher than top 7.

9 Fairytale of New York

This is such a good song. It should at least be in the top ten. It's good because it's an alternative Christmas song and is about hard times at Christmas, showing a different side to Christmas instead of just jolly songs.

Funny that the greatest Christmas song of all time would be about an extremely unpleasant couple hurling insults at each other. Because this is indeed the greatest Christmas song ever.

I'm not a big fan of Christmas songs because in my household we never played them, but I adore this. It's the only song I actually like because it's so different, and Kirsty had a wonderful voice!

10 Carol of the Bells

This song brings me into the ultimate Christmas mood, especially by Trans Siberian Orchestra! I play this song on the piano so much, and you can even make your own version too!

This song is catchy. It is my favorite. I am listening to it right now! It makes it feel like Christmas already, and it is the best song ever. I cannot believe it is not in the top ten!

I listen to this over and over. It's the only Christmas song I truly love, actually. The version doesn't really matter to me.

The Contenders
11 Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

I love Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. He is my favorite character in his movie. I think that he should win first place in the top ten Christmas countdown.

It's the best Christmas song in my book. It's entertaining for adults and kids. It makes me happy when I listen to it, unlike songs like Silent Night.

You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer, and Vixen, Comet, and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all...

12 O Holy Night

This song moves me incredibly. The music is incredible, and so is the tune. I love playing it on the piano. I also love all the classics and some modern ones like "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" and "White Christmas." But does anybody know what "Do They Know It's Christmas" even means? It probably insults about a million people, including me. It is a catchy tune, though.

NOBODY, absolutely NOBODY, sings this as beautifully as Miss Jacqueline Marie Evancho - an incredibly emotional performance. Her stellar voice has a power so profound that it brought me to tears several times. She is an incredible singer that stuns your senses and commands your full attention.

I personally prefer Josh's nice and deep bass, sufficient high notes, and slight accent. I feel that his version is better, though I may simply be biased towards male singers. But this is better than any of the songs above.

13 Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town

This is a wonderful song to learn about Santa Claus. I always thought that Santa was invisible, but now I think he is real in your heart! I really love this fun song.

It tells kids you better be good, or else you won't get presents...

I agree it should be in the top five, maybe even the top three...

14 The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)

I know this sounds repetitive if you've been on the top tens, but seriously, how is this #14? How is Last Christmas higher than this? This is the greatest Christmas song of all time.

"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir..."
You tell me you're not in a Christmas mood when you hear that? Ok then...

When I was a baby, whenever I used to cry (no matter the time of year), my father would put on this song on our living room loudspeakers, and I would go into some type of trance and stare off into space. Good times.

15 Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

I love Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree because it really highlights the family aspect of Christmas, which is by far the most important. It brings out all the cheesy Christmas movies and family card game nights for Christmas. It's an uplifting and happy song, and 15 is way too low a rank for it.

Love it! Especially the Brenda Lee version! Played that on the guitar and sang it. This song should no doubt be number one by a long shot!

By far the best. Very energetic and classic. Considering it is the fourth most played Christmas song, it is strange that it's 15th.

16 Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Please, everybody, listen to the Frank Sinatra version of this song. It's my personal favorite, although all other versions are awesome to listen to as well. It literally gives me goosebumps for how amazingly he sings it.

Listening to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" brings me endless memories of playing in the snow, having a beautiful Christmas tree in the house, with everybody cheery and enjoying the holiday spirit. "Here we are as in olden days, happy golden days of yore. Faithful friends who are dear to us gather near to us once more." This line summarizes the spirit of Christmas and why even non-Christians love it so dearly. It's about spending what little time we have with each other and thinking of the good times. So, thanks for reading, "and have yourself a merry little Christmas, now."

I love this song. Every time I hear it, I think of a warm fireplace, a glistening Christmas tree, and a family gathered together around the fire, just happy to be with each other. All of my worries just wash away. This song makes me so happy, and at the same time, a little sad, because I think of that beautiful scene and wish I could be there. It's just that good. Every time I listen to this song, I cry, and it's the only time I've ever cried and at the same time felt so incredibly happy. The song is just so powerful, but in a way that is calm, peaceful, and beautiful. This song always helps me put my life into perspective, regardless of what time of year it is, because it reminds me of what really matters. And the little things? Forget about them.

I love this song, and if you're ever getting stressed out about anything, whether it's a huge test coming up, a job interview, financial difficulties, or anything, do me a personal favor: listen to this song. It doesn't matter what time of year it is, just close your eyes and listen. It will make you feel so good inside. It'll give you that fuzzy feeling: a mixture of hope, wishfulness (sorry, that's not a word, but you know what I mean), enlightenment, and contentedness.

I don't know. I can't exactly describe the feeling very well, but it's a wonderful one, and I know that if the world were full of more of it, it would be a better place. So do me, the world, and yourself a favor: listen to this song, and experience the spirit of Christmas.

17 Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

I'm very upset that this isn't here. I mean, when they don't over-exaggerate every syllable and slow it down to a snail's pace, this song is very uplifting and nice!

Should be higher up on the list. I always hear the Dean Martin version of it (which is still good), but I like the Frank Sinatra cover a bit more.

This song is really enjoyable, fun to sing, and very danceable, especially when Jessica Simpson sings it. I really love this song so much.

18 It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

No song says Christmas like this holiday classic. Whoever doesn't like this song is stupid, and whoever does like it is my friend and will be invited to gatherings in the future. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

I only like this song when it is played at the end of a Christmas movie that I like, called It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. It's a Hallmark movie. When Hallmark starts playing its Christmas movies, look for it. It is so good.

This song is the most jolly, high-spirited Christmas song ever.

19 Blue Christmas

I played this song over and over when my grandpa died. I was so sad. That was 14 years ago, and I still miss him so much.

A sad Christmas song that's actually really good. This should be at least top 15.

20 Feliz Navidad

Why is this so low? This is one of my favorite Christmas songs!

21 Deck the Halls

Are you kidding me? Top ten. No questions asked.

This should be number 1! The best song ever!

22 Winter Wonderland

I really love this amazing song during Christmas. This awesome song says all of the fun things to do in the snow, like making a snowman and playing in the snow!

I like the one where that one girl sings this song. I did a dance to this song in a parade.

Catchy, lovely, and just outright good. Even though it's summer during Christmas where I'm from, this is still my favourite Christmas song.

23 Wonderful Christmastime

The keyboard at the beginning of this always makes me smile. It's one of those special Christmas songs that always gets you in a festive mood!

I love the beginning and the mood it sets. Paul McCartney and the Wings' greatest song by far.

Why is this so low at number 80? This is one of my favorite Christmas songs.

24 You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch

Grinch is an absolute classic. It should at least be in the top 15. Side note, they are making a Grinch horror movie, and I am EXCITED.

Oh, what a fun song this is! I really love this fun, enjoyable, silly song. This fun song is about the Grinch, and I love this song, especially since Jim Carrey is so awesome with his sense of humor. This fun song is a treat to listen to during the holidays.

I absolutely love this song, and whenever I listen to this fun Christmas song, I think of Jim Carrey! This awesome, great song makes me laugh because it has fun humor. This is a definite must-listen.

25 Santa Baby

Such a banger, one of the few Christmas songs that BANGS and you can click your fingers to. Very sneaky tune.

How is this not higher? It's a great song and deserves better!
