101 Corey Beaulieu Corey Beaulieu Corey King Beaulieu (Born November 22nd 1983) is an American musician and actor, known for being the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the Heavy Metal band Trivium.

Corey records all of the rhythm and half the solos in trivium, he is definitely the better soloist of the two. Pull harder on the strings of your martyr, light to flies, and gunshot display extreme skill as a riffer and a shredder. Since the epic of shogun was primarily written by heafy I can not say that his building epics are something to credit him with. But overall he definitely deserves this spot.

102 Terrance Hobbs

Needs more recognition. - asdsees

103 Eric Clapton Eric Clapton Eric Patrick Clapton is an English rock and blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: once as a solo artist and separately as a member of the Yardbirds and Cream. He has also been a member of Derek and the Dominos.

Simply the best guitarist of all time!

Metal? Really? NOT

Best guitarist? can agree at least
metal guitarist? no way. not even hard rock - zxm

104 Michael Keene
105 Adam "Nergal" Darski
106 Richie Faulkner Richie Faulkner Richard Ian Faulkner, is an English guitarist (born 1 January 1980). In 2011 he was appointed as the successor of K.K. Downing in heavy metal band Judas Priest.
107 Andy James

This man is incredibly genius, his music is a wonderful mixture of both high speed melody and great emotions, when you listen to him you feel like you wanna jump and your head starts shaking, even though he isn't much famous but he really is worth listening to, just listen to "Bullet In The Head"and you won't regret it, he also made videos in other guitarists style like : kirk hammet, steve vai, alexi laiho, synster gates and john petrucci, and they all are well preformed, you'll never regret listening to him or his band " Sacred Mother Tongue "

108 Scott Kelly Scott Kelly Scott Michael Kelly is one of three founding members of Oakland, California experimental metal band Neurosis, in which he is a vocalist and guitarist.
109 Angus Young Angus Young Angus McKinnon Young is an Australian guitarist of Scottish origin, best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, songwriter and sole constant member of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. When performing live he does his own version of Chuck Berry's "duck walk" and has also spun on his side while more.

I've been to 3 AC/DC concerts. In every one I don't remember Angus taking a break. He was out there playing his soul out the whole time. There is no one that can compare. It's true that his stuff isn't overly complicated, but that doesn't make a good Guitarist, Showmanship Is a large part of the entertainment value. Isn't that why we go to concerts in the first place?

Of course he's a god, because he's Australian (the best country on Earth by the way), and there is simply no-one like him. A best guitarist list doesn't have to be about technicality, but charisma, originality, and downright great memorable riffs. He's better than Malmsteen so far as all that goes.

not really metal but very underrated, also one of the best showmen ever - DeathToMayo

Great Guitarist but he's not Metal - christangrant

110 Kaoru

Kaoru is a truly amazing and talented guitarrist. His guitar skills are awesome, and the guitar solos are simply breathtaking! And he's also a songwriter, and has given some of the most beautiful songs to Dir en grey.

As the others said, Kaoru is a great guitarist, I don't know if it's better than Die, but he doesn't lose quatity because of that.

111 Michael Schenker Michael Schenker

By far one of the most underrated axemen out there. Technical and creative, his work both in UFO and in his solo career are out of this world. I must have listened to Rock Bottom for a million times now, and his soloing amazes me every time.

Michael Schenker - the guitarist of this world. So low in the list. Why is that? I think the main reason for this is because he never pursued fame as some people listed above. Kurt Kobain for example - how voted for this guy?

He must in the top ten, superb gitarist, personalia my favorite

These man should be at the top 10

112 Hizaki

Hizaki is great. Not just because of his skills in playing and composing the best symphonic metal I have ever heard, but also because he is modest and has time for his fans. Also his recent participation in fundraising for victims of the Japanese tsunami raised my respect for this guy. What can I say, this guy is the best! WE ARE VERSAILLES!

113 Syu

Really? Everyone voting for Syn to be first? WHY NOT LET SYU GET INTO TOP TEN? Switch places with Synyster. Syu certainly should be in the top ten, with his skills on par with the guitar gods, BRING HIM UP!

This guy definitely needs to be in the top 5, easily. He rips harder than about 90% of this list!

Syu is outstanding and deserves to be in the top ten and considering who else is on here it is dissapointing. On another note where the hell is Hizaki? Hizaki should be at the top of this list.

I guess the people that didn't vote for him haven't heard Phoenix Living In The Rising Sun...

Blues rock, southern rock, country rock etc - zxm

The only man who can make you say Damn that's as good as Hendrix without being the same!

117 Jon Donais

One of the best metal players I've heard. Underrated or under marketed if he's in the 100's. Higher 20%

118 Steve Stevens

One of the best ever. Michael Jackson and Billy Idol will both agree, I assure you.

I agree. He was a beast. I shall Bing what he did after that. Thanks for the heads-up.

119 Timo Tolkki Timo Tolkki Timo Tapio Tolkki is a Finnish musician best known as the former guitarist, songwriter and producer of the power metal band Stratovarius.

He has speed (in stratosphere he sounds just like a violin), quality and a great knowleadge of barroq style. All of that makes him a considerable top ten. METAL

This only proves that these guitarists are rated by popularity. People really need to listen to all guitarists before voting. This guy is amazing. So under rated it's sad. Stratovarius rules

This is the best because he has the feeling, and his compositions are beautiful and amazing, the way he plays is his own, it is TIMO TOLKKI!

There is a simple pleasure in listening to this guitarist. - skinsman

120 Steve Clark

Can't believe he is only 85th! Definitely Leppard always seems to get overlooked and yet it something I still listen to. Watching his performances he IS the music! Presence and power with some of the most memorable guitar solos. Wish alcohol had not taken him too soon...

Such an underrated guitarist. The songs he wrote had great rhythm as well as the lead parts. 'Switch 625', 'Die Hard The Hunter', 'Photograph', 'Rock Of Ages', 'Love Bites', 'Gods Of War. Anything from the first album to Hysteria, you can hear his sound influencing the band through those albums. He played to the song and wrote most of DL's music, plus he had awesome stage presence.
