The members of Cannibal Corpse themselves said that their music is supposed to be taken seriously, like Slayer they just like to have an imagery and they are not satanists or anything.

People got so rustled by his Chester Bennington meme that I just can't help but laugh. Chester is dead, and has been for two years. It's not like you personally knew him anyway, and it's not like you're half as successful or half as funny or half as skilled as Portnoy. Let's see you drum and sing Surrounded while James LaBrie chases a fan outside.

Also, Portnoy sings better than Bennington does, and Portnoy is a drummer. He doesn't sound like whiny teenager, even if he doesn't have the most powerful voice. Also, his drum skills make up for that and then some.
