Best Bloodborne Bosses

Ludwig in my opinion is undoubtly the best fight in not just Bloodborne, but the best boss in the Soulsborne series. (Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne and Sekiro).

Ludwig's first phase alone has 15 different, creative attacks which requires you to dodge in a specific way at a specific time. If you perfectly dodge these attacks, it gives you a quick opener to deal some damage of your own. It rewards high skilled players for taking advantage and shaving as much HP off as possible. Ludwig's attack ranges from to swipes up close, lunging at you, biting your face off, 1 shot charges that crosses the whole arena, jumping into the air and crawling onto the ceiling to crush you. Each attack is varied heavily and has different tells. The theme in the background is the backbone of this fight however. The theme makes it feel like no matter where you are in the arena, Ludwig is always crawling on your back, which sends shivers down your spine.

But, all that was just Phase 1. If you noticed at the beginning cutscene, the camera focuses on a large sword that Ludwig has on his hip. Once you get him to half health, the sword falls out and a mysterious, green glow shines from the sword calling for Ludwig. With the glimmer of the sword, he gains back his humanity, mentally at least and says: "Ah... you were at my side, all along. My true mentor... my guiding moonlight." During the cutscene, the music swells bigger and bigger as you fight Ludwig like the proud hunter he once was.

Then Phase 2 occurs and instead of fighting like a rabid horse monster, Ludwig fights you like a towering swordsman. Seeing a horse monster stand up is terrifying, but you're so focused on the sword that you just can't look away. Ludwig's theme goes from creepy and ominous to heroic and triamphant. He's attacks now have magic AOEs, sword combos, fires sword beams and can slam his sword on the ground. Each sword combo has different tells and it's just so exhilirating to get some... more

Pffft. After fighting Gehrman Maria felt like she is trying too hard to be like Gehrman only with Vileblood powers.

Without a doubt best boss fight in the game. The music is a masterpiece, the fight is a masterpiece and Gehrman is the best Character in all of bloodborne
