Top Ten Most Boring States In the US to Live In

*Yawn*, I would be bored of living in these states!

The Top Ten

1 Nebraska Nebraska Nebraska is a state that lies in both the Great Plains and the Midwestern United States. Its state capital is Lincoln.

I knew a friend going to Nevada, who they wanted to go to a Denny's. They skipped one and said they would go the next one. There was NO Denny's until Sterling, Colorado. That's how much there is in Nebraska. - SubliminalMessages

YES! I drove through this state to go to NO. Cal. (Which should be a state of its own and #2 in boring! ) and it was THE most boring drive of my life! I have driven through most states having been a military wife for 22 yrs and there is NO state more boring than Nebraska!

It's just cornfields, no beach no mountains

Enough of all this! Does anyone remember Michigan? The owner of the Great Lakes? All of the states are taking Michigan’s Great Lake water! that's SO SELFISH! Suite yourself Nebraska (😒) but soon you states will see that maybe you should of left Michigan alone.🤪"😆

2 North Dakota North Dakota North Dakota is the 39th state of the United States, having been admitted to the union on November 2, 1889.

If you think this state is boring, you haven't been there. - lolingdog9000

Can anyone here name anything special about this boring state?

Don't know how this state isn't number 1 most boring!

3 Wyoming Wyoming Wyoming is a state in the mountain region of the Western United States. The state is the tenth largest by area, but the least populous and the second least densely populated of the 50 United States.

People probably forget that Wyoming is a state that exists. - HauntingStomper

There's nothing but grass forever

There isn't much to do there, and not many restaurants and cities. - SubliminalMessages

4 Kansas Kansas Kansas is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area.

Are you kidding me? This is the most boring state in the Midwest. This state has the most boring scenery and theirs nothing to see or do besides look at prairies, view the flat landscape, and watch Wheat fields being harvested. This state needs to be swapped places as number 1 most boring!

Boring, there nothing there I have been to it 20 times all of it is just the plains and is boring

Nothing fun to see

I’ve lived in kansas for the past fourteen years. the most boring fourteen years of my life. there’s literally nothing to do. no astounding geographic features to look at. please, just don’t go to kansas

5 South Dakota South Dakota

Very much so agreed

Yeah, pretty much.

Of course it’s boring if you’re outside of Mount Rushmore. - JoeBoi

6 Montana Montana Montana is a state in the Western region of the United States. The state's name is derived from the Spanish word montaña.

Dude, Montana is not boring, it’s beautiful. And the downtown scene in Missoula is extremely lively, not to mention in there are both winter, and summer activities. Winters usually consist of skiing or snowboarding and summers are for rafting and camping and other fun activities. But sure, call it boring.

7 Indiana Indiana

The state is only made for adults over 21. Kids under 21 have nothing to do, there are no fun attractions other than the children's museum which is made for kids who are no older than 12. All you see is cornfields and flat land, there are no mountains or huge hills or anything like that, there are also no family fun activities to get away for a weekend/ family vacation. There are no water parks or amusement parks. Indiana is only made for people over 21 because there's are casinos and bars almost everywhere. If there are adults who have kids under 21, I would not recommend living in Indiana, especially if you're a family who likes to get out and have fun all together, or a family who likes to travel or get away for a weekend.

I live in Indiana and, despite the theories, it does have water parks! And drive-in movie theaters! And other stuff... but mainly corn

Very conservative. Very republican.
No natural scenery. Lots of cornfields

Actually Indiana has Indiana Beach.

8 Vermont Vermont

It can't be that boring if the people there do whacky stuff with syrup. - CobaltCards

Come on, Vermont’s not boring. I’ve been there and it’s fun to ski down the mountains.

Vermont is very boring from personal experiences. If you don’t like skiing or snowboarding, it’s not for you. And it sucks because there is more winter than anything.

9 Delaware Delaware Delaware is one of the Mid-Atlantic states located in the Northeast megalopolis region of the United States.

Delaware is just a small strip of land with absolutely nothing to do. - JoeBoi

I've lived in Delaware my entire life, and there is nothing to do.

Not is fun!

I’ve been living in DE for about 10 years ugh 😑, never have anything fun to do around, never have fairs, parks for the kids or nice places to go BORING!

10 Arkansas Arkansas Arkansas is a state located in the Southeastern region of the United States. Its name is of Siouan derivation, denoting the Quapaw Indians.

Arkansas is actually more interesting than most give credit for. I've lived here all my life and have not seen all the wonders there are to see yet.

I have never wanted to commit suicide before moving to Arkansas. ARKANSAS NEEDS TO BE DEMOLISHED By BYSON

If you wanna go any where in Arkansas you should go in the northwest area that’s where the most fun is

The Contenders

11 Idaho Idaho Idaho is a state in the northwestern region of the United States. Idaho is the 14th largest, the 39th most populous, and the 7th least densely populated of the 50 United States.

I guess I could munch on potatoes... - SubliminalMessages

12 Mississippi Mississippi

It's literally so boring, it's honestly the worst state too. Pississippi is a place to avoid. Biloxi and Gulfport, don't go there, their water isn't fresh. If you want a beach vacation, go to Florida, not Mississippi or Alabama. Jackson has nothing to do.

13 Alaska Alaska Alaska is a U.S. state situated in the northwest extremity of the Americas. The Canadian administrative divisions of British Columbia and Yukon border the state to the east; it has a maritime border with Russia to the west across the Bering Strait.

Alaska is actually pretty awesome if you don't mind the cold. I would rate it the most fun state actually.

You can spot magical Auroras from here, it's not a boring US state at all. You guys are great fools!

Alaska is the best state

14 New Jersey New Jersey New Jersey is a state in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware.

The only thing that happens here is a snowstorm in February.

We have six flags great adventure Nj isn't that bad

NJ IS NOT BORING! They have Six Flags Great Adventure and the NJ shore with lots of fun rides and arcades. I live in Philadelphia, go here nearly every summer, and NEVER get bored!

15 Iowa Iowa Iowa is a U.S. state in the Midwestern United States, bordered by the Mississippi River on the east and the Missouri River and the Big Sioux River on the west.

I mean, there's nothing more boring than a state famous for corn.

I live in Iowa. I still love Iowa, and think it is not completely boring, but most of the time I go out of state for fun. Probally also because I live really close to Minnesota's and South Dakota's border.

So GD political! And corney. Lol. because there’s tons of corn.

I live in Davenport, right where Iowa and Illinois meet. It’s acually not to bad and I guess it’s preety well known (bix biderback came from here 😎). but still, Iowa is preety boring.

16 Connecticut Connecticut

I moved here from Massachusetts. I only live here because of work. People could be nice in Connecticut but not very inviting, they keep to themselves. Their idea of entertainment is to sleep all the time, or if not sleeping, just eating and shopping.

You rarely see people walking for exercise around here for themselves. They need an accessory like a dog or baby to walk around. Lots of unhealthy people. People of the same sex are rude, staring at you, very uncomfortable if you are not gay.

Boring as hell! Nobody is up to do anything, just want to be at home, uptight people... the only fun thing to do is to go and eat- lots of overweight people...extremely politically correct

So boring no historical significance or don't contribute anything

17 Ohio Ohio Ohio is a state in the midwestern region of the United States. Ohio is the 34th largest by area, the 7th most populous, and the 10th most densely populated of the 50 United States.

How is it boring? Cedar Point is located here. There, debunked your comments! - JoeBoi

Absolutely nothing to do especially with winter being depressing

Winter time is super depressing

I love it hear

18 Arizona Arizona Arizona is a U.S. state in the southwestern region of the United States. It is also part of the Western and the Mountain states.

Shouldn't be on the list either - gizzmokids

19 Oklahoma Oklahoma

Worst place ever! Or is it my town? I don’t know just really boring.

20 Illinois Illinois Illinois is a state in the midwestern region of the United States. It is the 5th most populous state and 25th largest state in terms of land area, and is often noted as a microcosm of the entire country.

Outside of Chicago and Springfield, there is literally nothing to do here except stare at cornfields. - JoeBoi

Politicians ruined this state.

Worst state in the Midwest!

21 Washington Washington Washington is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States located north of Oregon, west of Idaho, and south of the Canadian province of British Columbia on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It is the only state named after a president.

Nothing outside of Seattle. If you like rain and mountains this is the state for you - Randomator

Just left Puget sound after 18 years. Yes it does rain Allot. The weather can be very depressing. Wa doesn't rain as much as Florida per square inch but they gray drissel over head goes for month's on end making it zombie land. And the women are fat, I mean at least 60% are obese. Asian women rule that area for sure.

THIS IS THE 2 BEST STATE IN THE U.S.A! (After flordia) - Dave346

22 Kentucky Kentucky Kentucky, officially the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state located in the east south-central region of the United States.
23 Georgia Georgia Georgia is a state located in the southeastern United States. It was established in 1732, the last of the original Thirteen Colonies.

You can learn lots of history here, but then it's just golf and military bases.

There are many great attractions and activities to do in Georgia!

24 Colorado Colorado Colorado is a state in the United States encompassing most of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains.
25 Florida Florida

Blame the transplants from New York, Massachusetts, and the Northeast for making this state terrible.

26 Oregon Oregon Oregon is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Oregon is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the north by Washington, on the south by California, on the east by Idaho, and on the southeast by Nevada.

If you like weed, goat milk, and eating wild game Oregon is great... Unless you want to live in Portland its crap. Portland is so overpriced, thousands of homeless, heroin and meth epidemic, syringes everywhere including on public transit, gangsters and gays, and everywhere smells like piss or meth, people just shoot up or smoke dope on the street. Not to mention they live in tents everywhere in the city, like Occupy Houston or occupy Chicago

Cities are far from each other and low population

27 Texas Texas Texas is a state in the USA. It is the second largest by area and population. Its largest city is Houston.

Boring as hell

Hey, don't mess with Texas! Texas is actually the best state!
Most boring state is Massachusetts.

Aw, that sucks

28 North Carolina North Carolina North Carolina is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state borders South Carolina and Georgia to the south, Tennessee to the west, Virginia to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

Wrong! The most boring state is Massachusetts!

Boring. Nothing to do

29 Hawaii Hawaii Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state of the United States of America, receiving statehood on August 21, 1959.

The scenery in this state is somewhat limited, any considered activity may be overbooked by tourists or other sources of overpopulation.. it’s also insanely expensive and somewhat of a vog cesspool. The summers can get miserable pretty easily (NOTE THIS IS THE HUMID TROPICAL HEAT TYPICAL TO PLACES AROUND THE EQUATOR TOO).

30 Michigan Michigan

The UP belong to Wisconsin

Beautiful, with lots of scenery. Very good spot for outdoor-enthuasiasts.

Yawn...there isn’t much to it honestly

31 Massachusetts Massachusetts Massachusetts, officially the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is the most populous state in the New England part of the northeastern region of the United States.

I used to live in MA for over 10 years. The worst and most dysfunctional people I have EVER met, from ALL races. Never met such cold hearted psychopaths. Had a lot of acquaintances, but NEVER made a friend! Even though most people in the world suck, in MA they where the meanest! I lived in Worcester. The weather SUCKED! and was cloudy almost all the time. People where vulgar and getting drunk was practically the only form considered entertaining. I don't drink so it sucked for me.

Amazingly Cold

32 West Virginia West Virginia
33 Minnesota Minnesota Minnesota is a state in the Midwestern United States. Minnesota was admitted as the 32nd state on May 11, 1858, created from the eastern half of the Minnesota Territory.

There's only a couple of good things about MN. But it's racist, and the only thing you can pretty much do is move out or try to entertain yourself.

The other person is biased

34 Alabama Alabama Alabama is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west.

Not really that boring if you're into nice scenery and beautiful forests. There's lots of history and culture in Birmingham and Mobile as well. Definitely not as exciting as California or New York, but as far as southern states go there are a lot worse.

If you like racism and rednecking to where no one judges you, Alabama's the place to live. I've lived there for 18 years, and all I saw were rednecks, and beers. Beautiful scenery, though. I would go out, and play around with my friensds in feils, and woods for miles away from my home, in the mid-70's.

35 California California

"Should be number one cause I said so" lol people are not gonna listen to you punk, California is cool

Should be number one cause I said so

36 New Mexico New Mexico

I'm glad we're not so high up

Sand everywhere. - KingSlayer93316

37 New Hampshire New Hampshire

New Hampshire may not be perfect, but at least it's way better than Massachusetts or New York.

The coastal shore area of New Hampshire should secede to either Maine or Massachusetts.

New Hampshire and Maine and should secede to Canada 🇨🇦.

38 Utah Utah Utah is a state in the western United States. It became the 45th state admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896. Utah is the 13th-largest, the 31st-most populous, and the 10th-least-densely populated of the 50 United States.

Besides the Wasatch Front, Skiing, National Parks and SLC. There's nothing to do. There's a huge gap from Provo all the Way down to Cedar City which is basically nothing. Don't get me wrong, the scenery is good (for the most part) there just isn't much to do.

39 Maine Maine

Maine should secede to Canada 🇨🇦

40 Wisconsin Wisconsin Wisconsin is a U.S. state located in the north-central United States, in the Midwest and Great Lakes regions.
