Top Ten Most Boring States In the US to Live In

*Yawn*, I would be bored of living in these states!

The Top Ten Most Boring States In the US to Live In

1 Nebraska Nebraska is a state that lies in both the Great Plains and the Midwestern United States. Its state capital is Lincoln.

YES! I drove through this state to go to NO. Cal. (Which should be a state of its own and #2 in boring! ) and it was THE most boring drive of my life! I have driven through most states having been a military wife for 22 yrs and there is NO state more boring than Nebraska!

I knew a friend going to Nevada, who they wanted to go to a Denny's. They skipped one and said they would go the next one. There was NO Denny's until Sterling, Colorado. That's how much there is in Nebraska. - SubliminalMessages

It's just cornfields, no beach no mountains

I live here and love it. Nice and quiet

2 North Dakota North Dakota is the 39th state of the United States, having been admitted to the union on November 2, 1889.

If you think this state is boring, you haven't been there. - lolingdog9000

Can anyone here name anything special about this boring state?

Don't know how this state isn't number 1 most boring!

I lived here for 14 long, cold, boring years

3 Indiana

Nothing but flatland cornfields. In the winter there is no sun. Nothing to do but watch wood dry. Summers are so humid especially in the southern part of the state. Basically like an extended Florida. People are raw and self-centered.

The state is only made for adults over 21. Kids under 21 have nothing to do, there are no fun attractions other than the children's museum which is made for kids who are no older than 12. All you see is cornfields and flat land, there are no mountains or huge hills or anything like that, there are also no family fun activities to get away for a weekend/ family vacation. There are no water parks or amusement parks. Indiana is only made for people over 21 because there's are casinos and bars almost everywhere. If there are adults who have kids under 21, I would not recommend living in Indiana, especially if you're a family who likes to get out and have fun all together, or a family who likes to travel or get away for a weekend.

We have a amusement park called Holiday World and Splashin Safari

I live in Indiana and, despite the theories, it does have water parks! And drive-in movie theaters! And other stuff... but mainly corn

4 Kansas Kansas is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area.

Western Kansas is yes boring but the Northeastern part of the state is very beautiful known as the flint hills.

Are you kidding me? This is the most boring state in the Midwest. This state has the most boring scenery and theirs nothing to see or do besides look at prairies, view the flat landscape, and watch Wheat fields being harvested. This state needs to be swapped places as number 1 most boring!

Can't beat the sunsets but you can't not beat litteraly every other detail about it. "Kansas, where you can watch your dog run away for a week"

Yeah it can be kinda boring. There’s no tourist attractions here - Randomator

5 Wyoming Wyoming is a state in the mountain region of the Western United States. The state is the tenth largest by area, but the least populous and the second least densely populated of the 50 United States.

Jackson Hole is one of greatest ski resorts in the country, people are incredibly nice and has a fun town outside of resort. Look forward to going back. Haven’t been to Yellowstone but I plan to

People probably forget that Wyoming is a state that exists. - HauntingStomper

There's nothing but grass forever

There isn't much to do there, and not many restaurants and cities. - SubliminalMessages

6 South Dakota

It has crazy horse and a lot more than just Mount Rushmore

Yeah, pretty much.

Very much so agreed

Has Mount Rushmore but that’s literally it - Randomator

7 Connecticut

I have lived in Connecticut for the majority of my life and there is absolutely nothing special or cool going on here whatsoever. There are small cities which are all very gross, poor and offer nothing special/interesting at all. The beaches are boring as hell and there is pretty much nothing in the northern part of the state but empty famland. The southern part of the state is just traffic and ugly cities with very annoying people. We have some good colleges but that's pretty much it. I don't recommend living here it is boring as hell. I'm surprised this isn't higher on the list.

You have to be willing to get dirty to have fun here there a bunch of outdoor things to participate in. Most parts of the state have no cops so it fun to blow crap up and have a hell of a lot of fun.

I moved here from Massachusetts. I only live here because of work. People could be nice in Connecticut but not very inviting, they keep to themselves. Their idea of entertainment is to sleep all the time, or if not sleeping, just eating and shopping.

You rarely see people walking for exercise around here for themselves. They need an accessory like a dog or baby to walk around. Lots of unhealthy people. People of the same sex are rude, staring at you, very uncomfortable if you are not gay.

Boring as hell! Nobody is up to do anything, just want to be at home, uptight people... the only fun thing to do is to go and eat- lots of overweight people...extremely politically correct

8 Colorado Colorado is a state in the United States encompassing most of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains.

Like half the state there is absolutly nothing to do, but on the other half there's so much stuff to do especially in winter like, Skiing, Snowboarding, hiking, the incline, cheyenne mountain zoo, the cave dwellings, cave of the winds, and other stuff that I probably forgot.

The mountains are cool. Eastern half is pretty boring though - Randomator

9 Montana Montana is a state in the Western region of the United States. The state's name is derived from the Spanish word montaña.

I love Hannah Montana songs

I love Hannah Montana

Never live here

Dude, Montana is not boring, it’s beautiful. And the downtown scene in Missoula is extremely lively, not to mention in there are both winter, and summer activities. Winters usually consist of skiing or snowboarding and summers are for rafting and camping and other fun activities. But sure, call it boring.

10 Vermont

Vt blows. To me it's the worst state In the usa. And super liberal and expensive, Cold and rains all the time

It can't be that boring if the people there do whacky stuff with syrup. - CobaltCards

Not fun at all

Come on, Vermont’s not boring. I’ve been there and it’s fun to ski down the mountains.

The Contenders

11 Delaware Delaware is one of the Mid-Atlantic states located in the Northeast megalopolis region of the United States.

I go there pretty often and its not too boring, but its not a party or anything - xEliHbkx

Delaware is just a small strip of land with absolutely nothing to do. - JoeBoi

I have only been to Delaware once so, I can't really speak that much about it, but they have a REALLY nice mall! And the state is SUPER small and you can drive through it really fast. - mylifesucks

You have nothing. Absolutely nothing, don't come here.

12 Iowa Iowa is a U.S. state in the Midwestern United States, bordered by the Mississippi River on the east and the Missouri River and the Big Sioux River on the west.

I mean, there's nothing more boring than a state famous for corn.

I live in Iowa. I still love Iowa, and think it is not completely boring, but most of the time I go out of state for fun. Probally also because I live really close to Minnesota's and South Dakota's border.

So GD political! And corney. Lol. because there’s tons of corn.

I live in Davenport, right where Iowa and Illinois meet. It’s acually not to bad and I guess it’s preety well known (bix biderback came from here 😎). but still, Iowa is preety boring.

13 Ohio Ohio is a state in the midwestern region of the United States. Ohio is the 34th largest by area, the 7th most populous, and the 10th most densely populated of the 50 United States.

How is it boring? Cedar Point is located here. There, debunked your comments! - JoeBoi

Absolutely nothing to do especially with winter being depressing

I love it hear

Winter time is super depressing

14 Arkansas Arkansas is a state located in the Southeastern region of the United States. Its name is of Siouan derivation, denoting the Quapaw Indians.

Arkansas is actually more interesting than most give credit for. I've lived here all my life and have not seen all the wonders there are to see yet.

I have never wanted to commit suicide before moving to Arkansas. ARKANSAS NEEDS TO BE DEMOLISHED By BYSON

If you wanna go any where in Arkansas you should go in the northwest area that’s where the most fun is

15 Mississippi Mississippi is a southern U.S. state with the Mississippi River to its west, the state of Alabama to its east, and the Gulf of Mexico to the south.

It's literally so boring, it's honestly the worst state too. Pississippi is a place to avoid. Biloxi and Gulfport, don't go there, their water isn't fresh. If you want a beach vacation, go to Florida, not Mississippi or Alabama. Jackson has nothing to do.

16 Idaho Idaho is a state in the northwestern region of the United States. Idaho is the 14th largest, the 39th most populous, and the 7th least densely populated of the 50 United States.

Sorry people of Idaho, I find it outrageous you are this low but it’s just who your below

They should call it New California 2 with all the Californians moving here

They have mountains though

Boring potatoes and more potatoes

17 Alaska Alaska is a U.S. state situated in the northwest extremity of the Americas. The Canadian administrative divisions of British Columbia and Yukon border the state to the east; it has a maritime border with Russia to the west across the Bering Strait.

Alaska is actually pretty awesome if you don't mind the cold. I would rate it the most fun state actually.

You can spot magical Auroras from here, it's not a boring US state at all. You guys are great fools!

Alaska is the best state

Shouldn’t be on here - Randomator

18 New Jersey New Jersey is a state in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware.

If you like bars and walking through generic wooded paths, and also love a little dirt brown, jellyfish infested waters across the ENTIRE shoreline, with freezing cold water year round to boot, come to this hell hole...

-Northeastern States (New England and Mid-Atlantic) rankings

1. Maryland (Mid-Atlantic)
2. New Hampshire (New England)
3. Maine (New England)
4. Vermont (New England)
5. Pennsylvania (Mid-Atlantic)
6. Delaware (Mid-Atlantic)
7. Rhode Island (New England)
8. Connecticut (New England)
9. New Jersey (Mid-Atlantic)
10. Massachusetts (New England)
11. New York (New England)

The only thing that happens here is a snowstorm in February.

We have six flags great adventure Nj isn't that bad

19 Rhode Island Rhode Island, officially the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, is a state in the New England region of the United States.

It is small and boarders the coast and a good place to vacation and live

It is bordered by Pennsylvania to the north, Maryland to the east and northeast, Virginia to the southeast, Kentucky to the southwest, and Ohio to the northwest. West Virginia is the 41st largest state by area, more.

The best state you could ever visit there are so many things to do such as the secret amusement parks and water parks. There is also a Disneyland around summers county west Virginia. I highly recommend going to McDowell county it is safe

Literally nothing to do. Unless you like mudding

Nothing to do

21 Oklahoma

Worst place ever! Or is it my town? I don’t know just really boring.

22 Illinois Illinois is a state in the midwestern region of the United States. It is the 5th most populous state and 25th largest state in terms of land area, and is often noted as a microcosm of the entire country.

All there is to do is look at the boring corn. Illinois is landlocked, so no ocean beaches. Also no mountains (as far as I know). I would rather live somewhere more fun. I WANT TO MOVE!

Outside of Chicago and Springfield, there is literally nothing to do here except stare at cornfields. - JoeBoi

Politicians ruined this state.

Worst state in the Midwest!

23 Kentucky Kentucky, officially the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state located in the east south-central region of the United States.

Louisville is not like any other major city, it is FUN! KFC is good!

If you like looking at gas stations and old people with farmers tans on their riding mowers I suggest you move to this wonderful state!

I live in Kentucky and I love it. It is so beautiful. There is so much to do here and the people who live here are so sweet and I don’t know how this state got so close to the top because it is amazing! I would really recommend visiting here.

24 Texas Texas is a state in the Southern USA. It is the second largest by area and population. Its largest city is Houston.

Boring as hell

Hey, don't mess with Texas! Texas is actually the best state!
Most boring state is Massachusetts.

Aw, that sucks

Hot, flat, borring...

25 Florida Florida is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. Florida is the southeasternmost U.S. state, with the Atlantic on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other.

What is wrong with you people? I mean sure there are too many transplants but still this place has universal! It was probably a Florida hater who added this - Grassheart

Blame the transplants from New York, Massachusetts, and the Northeast for making this state terrible.

26 Michigan

Not boring

It’s not boring because you can see all of the crime!
(This is a joke)

Michigan sucks. I hate living here.

The UP belong to Wisconsin

Michigan is boring

27 Minnesota Minnesota is a state in the Midwestern United States. Minnesota was admitted as the 32nd state on May 11, 1858, created from the eastern half of the Minnesota Territory.

There's only a couple of good things about MN. But it's racist, and the only thing you can pretty much do is move out or try to entertain yourself.

The other person is biased

28 Wisconsin Wisconsin is a U.S. state located in the north-central United States, in the Midwest and Great Lakes regions.

What I live here

Man no it is not I live their

Its terrible

29 Georgia Georgia is a state located in the southeastern United States. It was established in 1732, the last of the original Thirteen Colonies.

There are many great attractions and activities to do in Georgia!

You can learn lots of history here, but then it's just golf and military bases.

30 Massachusetts Massachusetts, officially the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is the most populous state in the New England part of the northeastern region of the United States.

I used to live in MA for over 10 years. The worst and most dysfunctional people I have EVER met, from ALL races. Never met such cold hearted psychopaths. Had a lot of acquaintances, but NEVER made a friend! Even though most people in the world suck, in MA they where the meanest! I lived in Worcester. The weather SUCKED! and was cloudy almost all the time. People where vulgar and getting drunk was practically the only form considered entertaining. I don't drink so it sucked for me.

Amazingly Cold

31 North Carolina North Carolina is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state borders South Carolina and Georgia to the south, Tennessee to the west, Virginia to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

There is literally no history here other than Ruger and no actual activities to do other than back woods yee yee boi truck driving.

Wrong! The most boring state is Massachusetts!

Mediocre in every aspect

Boring. Nothing to do

32 Alabama Alabama is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west.

Not really that boring if you're into nice scenery and beautiful forests. There's lots of history and culture in Birmingham and Mobile as well. Definitely not as exciting as California or New York, but as far as southern states go there are a lot worse.

If you like racism and rednecking to where no one judges you, Alabama's the place to live. I've lived there for 18 years, and all I saw were rednecks, and beers. Beautiful scenery, though. I would go out, and play around with my friensds in feils, and woods for miles away from my home, in the mid-70's.

33 Arizona Arizona is a U.S. state in the southwestern region of the United States. It is also part of the Western and the Mountain states.

Shouldn't be on the list either - gizzmokids

I’ve heard the Phoenix area is pretty fun and the Grand Canyon - Randomator

34 Oregon Oregon is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Oregon is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the north by Washington, on the south by California, on the east by Idaho, and on the southeast by Nevada.

If you like weed, goat milk, and eating wild game Oregon is great... Unless you want to live in Portland its crap. Portland is so overpriced, thousands of homeless, heroin and meth epidemic, syringes everywhere including on public transit, gangsters and gays, and everywhere smells like piss or meth, people just shoot up or smoke dope on the street. Not to mention they live in tents everywhere in the city, like Occupy Houston or occupy Chicago

Cities are far from each other and low population

35 New Mexico

I'm glad we're not so high up

Most people probably don't even know this place is a state.

Sand everywhere. - KingSlayer93316

36 Hawaii Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state of the United States of America, receiving statehood on August 21, 1959.

The scenery in this state is somewhat limited, any considered activity may be overbooked by tourists or other sources of overpopulation.. it’s also insanely expensive and somewhat of a vog cesspool. The summers can get miserable pretty easily (NOTE THIS IS THE HUMID TROPICAL HEAT TYPICAL TO PLACES AROUND THE EQUATOR TOO).

37 Washington Washington is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States located north of Oregon, west of Idaho, and south of the Canadian province of British Columbia on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It is the only state named after a president.

Nothing outside of Seattle. If you like rain and mountains this is the state for you - Randomator

Just left Puget sound after 18 years. Yes it does rain Allot. The weather can be very depressing. Wa doesn't rain as much as Florida per square inch but they gray drissel over head goes for month's on end making it zombie land. And the women are fat, I mean at least 60% are obese. Asian women rule that area for sure.

THIS IS THE 2 BEST STATE IN THE U.S.A! (After flordia) - Dave346

38 New Hampshire

New Hampshire may not be perfect, but at least it's way better than Massachusetts or New York.

The coastal shore area of New Hampshire should secede to either Maine or Massachusetts.

New Hampshire and Maine and should secede to Canada 🇨🇦.

39 Pennsylvania Pennsylvania, officially the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is a state located in the northern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.

Very plain and there is nothing much to do

40 Maryland Maryland is a state located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, bordering Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C.

Who decided to put this on the list? I will throw my crabs with Ol’bay on it at you, and make you rethink of your life choices.

- Sincerely, a proud Marylander

The east coast sucks - xEliHbkx

41 Nevada Nevada is a state in the Western, Mountain West, and Southwestern regions of the United States of America.

Outside of Vegas yeah I could understand - Randomator

42 South Carolina South Carolina is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state is bordered to the north by North Carolina, to the south and west by Georgia across the Savannah River, and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean.

I have lived here all my life and its not boring when u go to schools here every one has fun its party central here

This place is absolute crap. The only place is Myrtle Beach and everywhere I look there are mini golf courses

43 Utah Utah is a state in the western United States. It became the 45th state admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896. Utah is the 13th-largest, the 31st-most populous, and the 10th-least-densely populated of the 50 United States.

Besides the Wasatch Front, Skiing, National Parks and SLC. There's nothing to do. There's a huge gap from Provo all the Way down to Cedar City which is basically nothing. Don't get me wrong, the scenery is good (for the most part) there just isn't much to do.

44 Maine

Maine should top the list. Ya can't even walk around outside in the summer due to the browntail moth problem. Who wants to be stabbed with airborne toxic moth hairs, which are virtually invisible, that causes a rash equivalent to poison ivy?

If you love filthy, smelly, run-down places then Maine is for you. They are still living in the last century and selling dialup internet service. what!

And, it's supposed to be an artsy state. How many paintings of lobsters, lighthouses, boats and various birds can a person be forced to look at? The artists really think their work is worth high price tags. I was shocked at the prices of home-made greeting card type art.

There are also junk shops everywhere under the guise of "Antiques" and I mean, EVERYWHERE! - jazzbea

Oh really? Canada should secede to Maine >:3

Maine should secede to Canada 🇨🇦

45 California California is a state in the Southwestern United States. With 39.6 million residents across a total area of about 163,696 square miles (423,970 square kilometers), California is the most populous U.S. state and the third-largest by area. The state capital is Sacramento, and the largest city is Los Angeles. more.

"Should be number one cause I said so" lol people are not gonna listen to you punk, California is cool

Why is even on the list

With an estimated 19.54 million residents in 2018, it is the fourth most populous state. In order to distinguish the state from the city with the same name, it is more.
