Top Ten Colourful National Flags in the World

Geography is certainly an interesting subject in my opinion. My favourite, especially when it comes to countries. The first thing that comes to mind when I hear about countries, it's their flag. The flags of countries was among the first things I mastered to the point I think of the flag of the country before I think of the location of the country. I've mastered it quite a lot, and I surely love a lot of these flags. The more colourful, the better usually. Here are the most colourful flags in the world. So here's the list!
The Top Ten
1 South Africa South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa, is the southernmost sovereign state in Africa. It is bounded on the south by 2,798 kilometers of coastline of Southern Africa stretching along the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans, on the north by the neighbouring countries of Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, and on the east by Mozambique and Swaziland, and surrounding the kingdom of Lesotho.

South Africa's flag isn't one of my favourites, but it's one of the most colourful. Just look at it. It's simple but has six colours and it looks pretty good togheter. Three of them (red, green blue) are my favourite colours, and the gold is so beautiful as well. The white and black make this flag even more beatiful

This needs to be number 1

2 The Gambia Gambia, established in February 18, 1965, is located in western part of Africa. The capital of Gambia is called Banjul, the other major city are Serekunda, Brikama and Bakau which are the three biggest cities in Gambia. There are at least 10 languages spoken in Gambia by the various ethnic groups. Apart from English which is the official language spoken in schools and public offices there is also Wolof, Serer-Sine, Sarahole, Pulaar, Maninkakan, Mandjaque, Mandingo, Jola-Fonyi and the Aku's Creole (pidgin English). Gambia is known for tourism

Gambia has one of the most colourful national flags of all time in my opinion. It's because of this one of my all-time favourite national flags and is gorgeous to look at. Red, blue and green are among my favourite colours of all time, but it looks even better with the thin white stripes in between. It makes it look even more beautiful in my opinion. The best part is that the variants of the colours are excellent. I love that certain blue and green on the flag. If only the red was more "blood-red" like in Turkey's flag it would've been even better

3 Vanuatu Vanuatu, officially the Republic of Vanuatu, is a Pacific island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean. The archipelago, which is of volcanic origin, is 1,750 kilometres (1,090 mi) east of northern Australia, 540 kilometres (340 mi) northeast of New Caledonia, east of New Guinea, southeast of the Solomon Islands, and west of Fiji. ...read more.

Vanuatu surely has a beautiful and a colourful flag. While it doesn't have any dark blue, it surely is gorgeous to look at. I really like the sleeping Y shape and the black surrounding it. It just looks so stunning and beautiful in my opinion. The emblem to the left in yellow adds more to the stunning theme. And the red and green to the right just looks so right (no pun intended). Excellent and colourful one

4 Turkmenistan Turkmenistan is a country in Central Asia, bordered by Kazakhstan to the northwest, Uzbekistan to the north and east, Afghanistan to the southeast, Iran to the south and southwest, and the Caspian Sea to the west. Turkmenistan is one of the most sparsely populated nations in Asia. Citizens of Turkmenistan are known as Turkmenistanis, Turkmenians or Turkmens.

Of all the -stan countries' flags, I think this one looks the best and most colourful. While there aren't too many colours, the green colour is just beautiful in this one. It's a very bright one but looks excellent and so vibrant togheter with the complex rug to the left that makes it look even more colourful. This flag surely deserves to be here

5 Azerbaijan Azerbaijan, officially the Republic of Azerbaijan, is a country in the Transcaucasian region, situated at the crossroads of Southwest Asia and Southeastern Europe. It is a part of the Caucasus region, and is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia and Turkey to the west, and Iran to the south. Baku is the capital and largest city.

It's a similar case to the gambian flag, as it's a horizontall tricolour with the very same colours except in another order, and the white is a crescent and star instead of thin stripes. It doesn't look nearly as good as the gambian flag but it surely knows how to look good for me

6 Gabon Gabon, officially the Gabonese Republic, is a sovereign state on the west coast of Central Africa. Located on the equator, Gabon is bordered by Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Cameroon to the north, the Republic of the Congo on the east and south, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west. A lot of people I've met have said they're not a fan of this one because the colours don't go well togheter. Well I already explained in the solomon islands that I love this combination, and this one looks so vibrant! Especially with the bright colours, and it's colourful

7 Solomon Islands Solomon Islands is a sovereign country consisting of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands in Oceania lying to the east of Papua New Guinea and northwest of Vanuatu and covering a land area of 28,400 square kilometres.

Another melanesian flag? Well the melanesian countries surely have awesome flags and this is one of them. Vanuatu has better, but Solomon Islands is awesomne as well. Blue, yellow and green fit very well togheter, especially with that blue and the stars add to the vibrancy

8 Hungary Hungary is a sovereign state in Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Romania to the east, Serbia to the south, Croatia to the southwest, Slovenia to the west, Austria to the northwest, and Ukraine to the northeast.

Why would I forget the most interesting european country which pherhaps also has the best flag in Europe? It's a horizontall version of the italian flag but way better. It looks better when horizontall, the green is better, and it makes it more colourful. Deserves a mention

9 Togo Togo, officially the Togolese Republic, is a country in West Africa bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north.

The togolese flag is one of the happiest looking. It's a relatively small flag, but the small amount of stripes, and the big star to the top-left makes this flag look quite happy, and it's thanks to the colours in the flag as well. While the colours aren't bright, it still looks quite colourful

10 Ecuador Ecuador, officially the Republic of Ecuador, is a representative democratic republic in northwestern South America, bordered by Colombia on the north, Peru on the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
