Top 10 Best "Complete Monsters" of All Time

We already have a list called "Best Villains of All Time," so I thought, how about we delve into the darker side, shall we?

A "Complete Monster" is, plain and simple, one of the most evil characters in a series. Therefore, it's obvious there are going to be some rules: These villains must not have any redeemable qualities (personality-wise), must always be taken seriously, and are pretty much hated by everyone.

Lastly, a "Complete Monster" doesn't necessarily need to be the main villain of the series in which he or she appears (e.g., Envy from the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist and Quan Chi from the Mortal Kombat series).

There are a lot of irredeemable monsters in various media outlets, but which one do you think strikes the biggest chord?

The Top Ten
  1. The Joker (DC Comics)

The Joker is a fictional supervillain created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson, who first appeared in Batman #1, released on April 25, 1940, by DC Comics. Credit for the Joker's creation remains disputed. Both Kane and Robinson claimed responsibility for his visual design, while Finger is... read more

Of course, the Joker. His numerous unforgivable acts throughout his history, like killing Jason Todd and the events of The Killing Joke, are baffling considering he's been around since 1939. His relationship with the Dark Knight is what makes him stand out. Oh, and he's a nihilist, so he doesn't care about anything. Heath Ledger's performance was really haunting too.

  2. Emperor Palpatine (Star Wars)

Sheev Palpatine, also known by his Sith identity Darth Sidious, is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars franchise. Publicly, he appears as Senator Palpatine, then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and later as Emperor Palpatine. He is mainly portrayed by Ian McDiarmid... read more

Many Sith Lords (with Darth Bane being an exception) show some redeemable traits, but Sidious isn't one of them. He killed his family before "baptizing" himself in the dark side and murdered his master, Darth Plagueis, to seize his title. He mistreated Darth Maul just to make him a remorseless killer and didn't care for Darth Vader either. However, credit where it's due: he systematically destroyed the Jedi and took over the Republic, effectively ruling the entire galaxy.

  3. Frieza (Dragon Ball)

Frieza is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball series created by Akira Toriyama. He is the main antagonist of the Frieza Saga and is known as a tyrannical ruler of the Planet Trade Organization.

Feared across the universe for his power and cruelty, Frieza plays a major role in the series'... read more

If anybody picks a villain from the Dragon Ball series, the first is usually Frieza, and why not? He destroys entire races and gloats about it, doing anything to torture those he fights. It's surprising how polite and honest he acts while never hiding his sadistic and megalomaniac personality.

  4. Kefka Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI)

Kefka Palazzo is a character in the Final Fantasy series of video games. Originally designed by Yoshitaka Amano, he appears in the sixth installment of the series, Final Fantasy VI. Kefka is widely regarded as one of the most memorable and maniacal villains in the franchise's history.

Kefka is basically the Joker of video games, except he goes too far and destroys the world to become a god. His final battle music is fantastic.

  5. Carnage (Marvel Comics)

Carnage (Cletus Kasady) is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually as an enemy of Spider-Man. He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #361 in April 1992. Carnage is the offspring of the Venom symbiote and is infamous for his violent, homicidal... read more

Norman Osborn (the first Green Goblin) definitely deserves to be Spider-Man's arch-nemesis. I like Venom too, but the Goblin seems a more fitting choice. He killed Gwen Stacy, gloated about it later, and always makes sure Peter's life is as miserable as possible. He was also responsible for the clone saga and led the Dark Avengers after taking over SHIELD. He doesn't care about his son Harry at all. He is the kind of guy everyone would hate at first meeting. This reputation makes him one of Marvel's most evil villains and a personal favorite of mine.

  7. Voldemort (Harry Potter)

Lord Voldemort is a fictional character and the primary antagonist in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter book series. He first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, published in 1997. Dr. Loomis's quote about him sums up his personality. While I like Freddy Krueger more (and he's a Complete Monster too), Michael stands out because his emotionless and sadistic nature terrifies the audience.

The best villain in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He is very intimidating and posed a serious threat. He's not some goofy cartoon villain. He is legitimately dangerous.
