Top 10 Worst Disney Channel Shows
My younger sister (8) watches the Disney Channel a lot, and while I loathe many of the shows they air, Shake It Up is my least favorite. I could rant about this show for a long time, but I think the worst aspect is that none of the characters seem to actually like each other at all. Rocky and Cece claim to be friends, but they constantly fight and act as if they genuinely hate each other, to the point where I'm uncomfortable watching the show.
I always tell my little sister that if anyone ever treats her the way Rocky treats Cece, that person isn't her friend. The rest of the cast is no better. Everyone seems to enjoy putting each other down. The only exception to the terrible cast are the German twins, Gunter and Tinka, but they don't even seem like they belong in Shake It Up in the first place.
Aside from the characters, the dancing is very unimpressive, and the concept of a TV show about dancing teenagers feels like it was taken directly from Hairspray. The jokes aren't funny. By "jokes," I mean Rocky's snarky comments about how stupid Cece is.
The one redeemable thing about Shake It Up is still Gunter and Tinka. Dressed up like strange rip-offs of Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, coupled with their ridiculous accents, they somehow make the show a lot more bearable, despite how out of place they are. They're also the only ones who ever get to say anything remotely funny.
In conclusion, it's just a poor-quality and weirdly mean-spirited show.
Just when I thought Disney shows couldn't get any worse, out came this one. This is hands down the dumbest show I have ever seen anywhere. The jokes aren't funny, and none of the actors can even act.
Worst of all is the plot of the show - dogs that can talk. Wow, Disney, I really didn't think you could get any worse. This show takes the worst elements of "Jessie," "ANT Farm," "Austin and Ally," and "Shake It Up" and combines them into one show of utter nonsense.
I hate this show with a burning passion. My eyes bleed, my ears ache, and my brain feels like it's hemorrhaging whenever I turn on the television and Dog with a Blog is playing. Watching it feels like my own personal dungeon.
The jokes are drier than my lips on a winter morning. The acting is so bad it should be considered one of the seven deadly sins. The characters are so annoying that I'd rather have mosquitoes flying around my house than watch this pile of garbage. The plot lacks potential and is utterly uncreative.
Walt Disney must be crying tears of sadness from his grave. This show is so horrible that it makes me want to drown repeatedly in a sea of shark-infested acid.
This show is by far the worst ever. What kind of lessons are they trying to teach kids? To be untalented and unfunny people on television? The show has terrible lessons - actually, no lessons at all.
Take that episode where the principal trapped all of the A.N.T.s' personalities into frozen yogurt, and Chyna had to save them by eating it. What was that about? That has to be one of the worst Disney ideas for an episode ever. And don't even get me started on the characters!
Chyna - She's a nice girl, but she's portrayed as stupid. She's just a prodigy in music, so how can she be learning high school math, English, physics, etc.? She's not funny at all. Is she trying to make jokes, or is she trying to make me vomit?
Olive - At least I can see why this one is in high school! But she's a know-it-all who acts like she's all that, but she's not! Her acting is terrible, and someone should break the news that her dancing is awful - just like her.
Fletcher - An awkward and annoying guy who, of course, has a crush on the main character. Like Chyna, he's only a prodigy in art, not math, English, or anything else. So again, why is he in high school? He's boring and doesn't have an ounce of humor.
Lexi - So they couldn't come up with a nice cheerleader? I'll give her credit that she can sing pretty well, and she could do way better than Disney. But why does the cheerleader have to be mean? This sets a terrible example for cheerleaders.
Paisley - Great, another dumb blonde cheerleader. If I see one more on Disney, I'm going to throw up. Yet another awful portrayal of cheerleaders.
Cameron - Don't even get me started on this character.
Disgusting! I don't even know where to start with this appalling show. If you watch this, it basically teaches children they can become overnight sensations, which is about as likely as winning the lottery. I'm 11, but I always change the channel when that annoying theme song comes on.
Ross Lynch (Austin) is so bad he can't even stick to a natural hair color. He's a delusional guy who thinks he's a triple threat, but he's not even one threat. My eyes and ears practically bleed when the show comes on. It's like Alvin and the Chipmunks all over again! His Teen Beach Movie role only proved he's even worse at acting. -100,000,000,000,000 out of 10 for him!
Laura Marano (Ally) is a disappointment. Who eats their hair when they're nervous? And how can anyone eat that many pickles? I like pickles, but I couldn't handle a whole basket! She's way too protective of that stupid songbook, which I bet is empty. She tries too hard to act, resulting in ultimate boredom. -600 out of 10.
Don't get me started on Raini Rodriguez (Trish). She's a brat who thinks she can get whatever she wants with her over-the-top anger issues. She's inconsiderate of other people's health, both mentally and physically. I don't know if Disney is trying to teach kids to be stubborn brats who resort to violence if things don't go their way. -100,000 out of 10.
Calum Worthy (Dez) has high standards for acting, yet he wastes his life with a stupid role on a stupid show. He's the most positive thing about this show, but even then, he's an idiot (both on and off the show). -1 out of 10.
In summary, Austin & Ally is the most irrational and unrealistic show. It teaches kids they can become famous by doing nothing. It also encourages kids to think violence and stupidity are funny. The actors deliver disappointing performances and have no real talent.
Austin can't sing or dance, and I got injured trying one of his dance moves. Ally is unrealistic and keeps that... more
This show is by far the worst. My cousin loves Disney. Disney Channel is supposed to be for cartoons, not live-action stuff.
What cartoons do we have, though? Wander Over Yonder, Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb, and Fish Hooks. Wander Over Yonder is creepy and boring. Phineas and Ferb is very, very repetitive. The only good cartoon is Gravity Falls.
Fish Hooks is just stupid. Fish go to high school and meet hamsters. It's also gross. Halfway through an episode, I saw Milo's booty. It's not even funny. It's too stereotypical, with the normal bullies and teenage girls. I think it's copying SpongeBob.
The acting is terrible, and the characters are stereotypes portrayed in a racist manner. Ravi does not act like an Indian immigrant. In one episode, he exclaims Oh my god, which is not something typical Indian people say.
Emma is portrayed as a stereotypical blonde pre-teen who does typical teenager stuff and likes boys much older than her. The worst episode is when a nanny creates an offensive, Facebook-referenced blog that makes nannies look bad.
This is part of the problem with Disney Channel - controversial humor in live-action shows on a family-oriented channel. Gravity Falls has the same problem. Fish Hooks seems like a watered-down, Adult Swim-style spin on Spongebob. Kids want cartoons, not teen sitcom wannabe shows.
There was once an incident with an inappropriate commercial. Disney should get rid of all sitcoms on the channel. Air Gravity Falls with offensive jokes removed. As they say in business, Money is important, but the customer is king. Disney should get back to its old content.
This really should be #1! Hannah Montana truly was the abomination that killed Disney Channel and started a tsunami of terrible shows like So Random, Shake It Up, and Jessie. As terrible as those are, none are as overrated, obnoxious, and abysmal as Hannah Montana!
Miley Cyrus is such an obnoxious, selfish, arrogant brat, and Disney Channel gave her so much praise that she went on to become the terrible role model she is today. Miley is no doubt one of the worst role models for children in the history of television.
There is nothing - nothing good about Hannah Montana! If you're looking for something good on Disney Channel, stick to Gravity Falls, Star vs. The Forces of Evil, or even classics like House of Mouse and Kim Possible. Avoid Hannah Montana like the plague!
One of the other Disney Channel shows had just ended, and Disney had to make another one in its place. But they had absolutely no ideas. They worked for months trying to create a plot for this new Disney show. They were all tired from work and decided to let loose. So they went to a bar and got really drunk. That was when they created the plot for this show.
The show is about a bunch of kids who get in trouble a lot and all simultaneously yell, "I didn't do it!" That is literally the plot of every episode, except that after ten episodes, they stopped yelling "I didn't do it!" at the beginning and end of every episode. Like, what?
The jokes aren't funny, the acting is awful, and the characters are extremely annoying. The worst Disney show.
This show is pathetic and highly derivative. It's not funny in the slightest and, quite frankly, teaches kids to be nothing more than back-chatting, precocious little brats.
I've only seen the show once, and that was more by accident than by design. However, I couldn't believe the blatant racial stereotyping that is rife throughout the show. If people wonder where kids subliminally learn to hate others based on cultural differences and racial stereotypes, then look no further than the Disney Channel.
What's worse, the canned laughter that runs incessantly throughout the show just reinforces the outdated idea that this kind of lazy and often offensive humor is somehow acceptable.
I absolutely hate this show. I couldn't even finish watching one episode. The acting is overdone, but that happens in other Disney Channel shows.
The jokes were bad, and the characters were pretty bad as well. I hate how one character is always glorified (Liv), another is just a "backup" (Maddie), and then there's the "loser" or "dork" character (Joey). Joey bothered me a lot because he's full of stereotypes, making him really unpleasant to watch.
I also hate how they end each title with "A-Rooney." I understand that "Rooney" is their last name, but it just sounds really dumb.
I give kudos to anyone who can survive watching an entire episode without cringing at the poor quality. The theme song is some kind of remix/rap, and the only lyrics are the awful names, Crash and Bernstein. It is absolutely not funny and overuses laugh tracks.
The main characters are all bratty and based on gender stereotypes. The puppet looks like a rejected Muppet, yet somehow becomes the coolest kid in school. The puppet is a jerk who gets everything he wants, and the kid acts like he's the only person in the world with mostly female family members.
They rely on fart jokes and potty humor, and Disney advertises it as a brand-new live-action comedy. Don't waste your time watching even one episode of this show. You'd be better off watching Teletubbies in German. It's ranked 17th, but it deserves to be higher on the worst shows list, possibly second only to Shake It Up.
Did the Jonas Brothers really need their own show? This show was beyond garbage. An utter disgrace! This was a spinoff of the show "Jonas." Did we need this? No! This was worse than the first show. It was boring and bland, and nothing really happened in Jonas L.A.
It was canceled, and I think that is the reason the Jonas Brothers lost their popularity. Their popularity just disappeared after this. I have no words for this except that it was a disgrace. Who cares? I mean, really, who does? I didn't think it was going to last long, and it didn't.
This might be the worst Disney cartoon ever created. If you want to make a good show, add more storylines, not the same plot over and over again!
The parents are horrible role models, the main characters make terrible puns, and Candace is the most annoying female character ever. The villain - ugh, his voice makes me want to punch the TV!
Oh yeah, and there is way too much singing! Sometimes, the show feels like a little kids' program because of the excessive music and singing. You don't always have to educate people through songs! Perry is the only good part of the show, and he should really be the main character since he's the only decent role model in the entire series. However, sometimes the Agent P storylines feel like a ripoff of Kim Possible.
I loathe the plot of the new episode. Jack goes too far, no one is funny, and worst of all, I do not like Milton's personality. He is a selfish jerk who cares only about himself, like when he did that show. To scare off unsuspecting viewers, that fake-looking mouse gets replaced with a real one.
Just kidding, we hack into the headquarters and photo-edit the mouse so he looks real. And best of all, the kid in the mouse costume has to crawl on all fours for abominable acting. He also must actually eat, sleep, and squeak like a mouse and so on, so kids think twice about watching Kickin' It.
Good content, but poorly executed with the motto "Profit comes with icons made after losers." The show has bad acting, unlikable characters, and cringe-worthy stories with terrible events from beginning to end, especially that incident with Jack and his cousin.
I never thought there would be a worse Disney show than Jessie, but I was totally wrong! This show is absolutely stupid! I have a theory that it was created mainly to draw in the fools who love idiotic, non-funny "humor" on shows like this, just to get them to start watching Disney Channel and Disney.
I actually thought that the Pickle and the Peanut characters were adorable when I saw a picture of them. But then, when I actually saw a commercial, I wanted to sue Disney! The idiotic shows on Cartoon Network and some of the cartoons on Nickelodeon are just plain stupid! Disney is above all of that! They are better than Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.
Their movies are inspiring, they created the most magical place on Earth, and they make more per year as it is! So why do they need to sink so low to steal viewers from other channels by making a random "comedy" cartoon? I personally own some Disney stock, and if I owned enough to be in charge, I would cancel Pickle and Peanut and fire every single individual who had a part in the creation of the show! It makes me sick! SICK!
This show is just dreadful, the real start of trash airing on the Disney Channel. Demi Lovato is a terrible singer/actress (who cannot sing or act to save her life). The show was only created to boost Demi's career, with very little thought put into it. It was not even slightly funny, and the majority, if not all, of the characters were there just to make Demi look good.
Most episodes are either about Tawni being less pretty and more intolerable than Sonny, or about how much Chad loves Sonny. The whole show just felt forced and unappealing.
This is a disgrace to the film Peter Pan and to pirates in general! I mean, I know it's a kids' show and all, but Captain Hook is supposed to be evil! I lost count of how many times he sided with them! And where's the rest of his bloody, swashbuckling crew?
Little kids can't be pirates in the first place! And what's with the "Yo Ho!" all the time? I've watched all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and the only time I recall those words is when they sing the "Pirates Life For Me" chantey.
I'll never understand why, in that show, they help people. What? "Pirate" generally means to steal. What have kids' shows come to these days?
My little sister loves this show and watches it 24/7, which has given me plenty of time to form an opinion about it.
And let me tell you, that opinion is one of pure hate. I'll try to keep my anger in check and not write something TOO long.
Firstly, the dub. When I first encountered this show, the first thing I noticed was that the dub was absolutely horrifying. I've seen the show in Swedish, English, and Spanish (its original language), and while the original Spanish voices are quite bad, the English and Swedish dubs make you want to stuff cotton into your ears forever. The sync is so completely off that you wonder if they even tried, and the voice acting is 90% screaming and 10% bad acting.
That leads me to my second point: the acting. Oh gods, the acting. It's exaggerated, fake, and loud, consisting mostly of yelling, aggressive gesturing, and overplayed emotions to the point that you feel embarrassed to watch. I honestly can't think of one actor who isn't tremendously bad! It's just awkward to watch, and it's even worse than Disney's usual standards.
But arguably the worst thing is the plot itself.
Violetta is, from what I've seen, a story that is 100% focused on romance. I am not even joking. Every action and line the characters deliver is somehow related to romance. It's ridiculous. I don't know how old these characters are supposed to be, but I'm guessing around 16 years old (which is how old I am). In my class, only two people are in relationships. But the characters on Violetta all have multiple romantic interests. Even Violetta's housemaid and her dad have multiple! Seriously, it is not healthy or realistic for characters to have nothing else on their minds but romance. This sends the wrong message to kids!
It's not just the obsession with romance. It's the fact that it's never resolved. When two characters get together, they are happy for literally two minutes before some drama happens. Usually, one character is... more
This show is stupid for several reasons:
1. It teaches nothing! Nina always says that this will never happen again since now she knows not to wait to go, but she makes the same mistake over and over! No, Nina! You learned nothing! It doesn't matter that you're not doing your pee-pee dance at this moment - go now, whatever!
2. Nina is annoying as hell, even more annoying than Dora the Explorer. Her voice is high-pitched and creepy. She has that hideous, messy curly ginger hair, and her face looks stupidly idiotic.
3. That Nana is here to bring Nina to the bathroom every time! It's annoying because this doesn't happen in real life. In our world, there's no ninja old lady to bring your toddler to the toilet.
4. Nina's parents are so stupid. Her dad is so dumb that he can't even find the bathroom at the zoo.
This show needs to be called Nina Needs to Die! I hate that miserable little girl.
My sister (3) even hates this show. A talking mouse, a duck, another mouse - no more! It is one of, if not the worst, shows ever created.
When I first saw it at age 3, I wanted to see if it was good. When I tell you I wanted to bleach my eyes and ears, I'm serious. When I see this show, I go to my room and watch anime. I don't come out until I hear it turn off, and if I don't, I stay in my room and watch Dragon Ball Z until I get that song out of my head.
I don't know why the people who made this show did it, but they NEED to cancel it.
Cut it some slack, you say. It's a kids' show, you say. My parents probably hated this show. It was nothing but bad CGI and annoying songs.
You can cut it slack if you want, but just remember... they made an episode where (if I remember this correctly) Goofy was a baby. A machine turned Goofy into a baby, and the characters treated him as an actual baby, burping him and everything.
Yes... even the diaper.
The weird orange thing looks like the hairball of a cat with orange fur or something found in the shower drain of a guy with orange hair. And the horse thing - I think it is a horse - looks like a giraffe and a horse were caught in a nuclear waste spill.
And don't get me started on that orange hairball constantly helping people. If a guy who is really a rapist asked you to put something into a van, would you? Yeah, didn't think so.
I am disappointed in what kids' channels have turned into. Aliens, please take me off this planet! I don't care what you do to me. Just please take me away!
To be honest, the only reason I voted for this one was because it freaks me out. It literally weirds me out. I've never even been able to watch a full episode because of this, but from what I have seen, it's disgusting. The acting and scripting are terrible, and it's the acting that weirds me out in the first place.
Anyone who talks and moves like this, and most of all, makes faces like this in real life, would probably be assumed to have some issues. I'm sorry if that's offensive, but I'm not kidding. These overreactions, the facial expressions, the constant screaming... It's just scary. Who on Earth would behave like this? It couldn't even be just one character. No, they all had to act the same way.
We're not crazy, stupid, or immature just because we hate a kids' show. I actually feel bad for the people who somehow enjoy this garbage because the show is so boring, yet it has so many fanatical, narrow-minded fans with no respect for the opinions of haters. I bet people only talk positively about the show because these fans make them feel like they have to.
Even Jessie isn't as bad as this show because at least its fans don't demand that we watch it despite our differing opinions, let alone demand that we like it. I also love how fans vote to put this show higher on the list just to whine about it being there.
It just goes to show that this show's fans are all the same: young and immature. This list is for haters, and since I'm one of them - suck it!
Best Friends Whenever is yet another show focused only on girl problems. Not saying that's bad, but it is just getting old. Speaking of which, another thing getting old is how the main characters in a lot of new Disney shows are two girls, one being a bad girl and the other a good girl.
Anyway, this show is very bad. The humor is terrible, the acting is bad, and the drama is unrealistic. The twins are so annoying. Their acting is bad, and as characters, they are annoying. They are always just destroying random things in the house, and they physically abuse each other way too much!
An example of bad acting in this show is that one really smart kid who makes weird and creepy inventions in his trailer. He's really bad at acting. He tries to act but always just has a bland expression on his face. If you look closely in some scenes, he repeatedly glances at the camera. In real life, he's like 16 and should know better than that. Heck, even the kid who plays Auggie in the awful show Girl Meets World knows not to look at the camera!
This is just a piece of crap that was literally slapped together at the last minute to replace I Didn't Do It after its abrupt cancellation. (Thank God that show is done too.)
Disney Channel is very low on the comedy factor lately, and this is a clear sign that Disney is becoming the next Nickelodeon. Once, it was hugely important to children, but now it feels like a channel without any budget.
Riley Matthews, the main protagonist and the daughter of Cory Matthews from Boy Meets World, is annoying and seems to think everything revolves around her. The characters in the series speak nonsense and are overly joyful all the time, like in a SpongeBob episode but without any humor whatsoever. The scriptwriters must be out of touch because the characters are always saying ridiculous things.
There are some positive elements as the series continues, such as character development, but overall, the show is just stupid to me. It's not funny, and the overly "happy-go-lucky" script doesn't reflect real life at all.
