Top 10 Saddest Deaths in Disney Movies

The Top Ten
1 Mufasa - Lion King Mufasa is a major character in Disney's 1994 animated feature film, The Lion King. He is Simba's father, Sarabi's mate, Scar's older brother, and was King of the Pride Lands until his death. He is voiced by James Earl Jones.

Without a doubt the saddest death in any movie, Disney or not. Simba Lost his father at a young age and was forced to run away because of it. Disney really thought Mufasa's death through too well...

Yes it is sad, but compare it with Reuben's death from MCSM and Gonta's and Kokichi's death from Danganronpa V3, Mufasa's death is kind of overrated. It's still sad, though because I love Mufasa.

Simba lost him at a young age, and Simba then blames himself. I feel like this makes it worse.

Lion king is my favorite Disney movie, this is the saddest death! Scar deserved to die!

2 Ellie - Up

What made it hard was watching her entire life with Carl. How happy she made him. Trying to stay strong till the very end

She died immeadintly after she failed to have a baby. Dang, talk about tugging your heartstrings.

We rarely know her, but I loved her personality.

I cried at this

3 Bing Bong - Inside Out

That makes Bing Bongs death so emotional is that he knowingly sacrificed himself to make sure the person he cared most about could experience happiness again.

He's my 2nd favorite character (after Sadness). I love that he cares for Riley so much to give himself up.

As an unemotional 18 year old boy, even I had to hold back my tears during this scene.

This is one of two movies I remember crying at. The other one is Coco

4 Bambi's Mother - Bambi

This one was WAAY sadder than stupid Mufasa's death (Which wasn't sad at ALL)!

When mothers die you turn into a crying machine.

Watched the movie once. Never again

I cry just knowing about it.

5 Ray - The Princess and the Frog

How is Bing Bong sadder than Ray. Bing Bong is an irrelevant elephant thing who had no character except for being stupid.

Ray is my favorite character. He is just so funny and loving. I'm glad he is with Evangaline.

Ray was so funny and kind hearted.

It was so sad, I cried. I'm so sad now

6 Tadashi - Big Hero 6 Tadashi Hamada is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 54th animated feature, Big Hero 6. The film is inspired by a Marvel comic book of the same name.

This was just heartbreaking. I'm almost crying now just thinking of it

I was bawling my eyes out. He was awesome. He died for no reason. * Sniffed*

He died trying to be a hero.

Saddest death ever

7 Koda's Mother - Brother Bear
8 Coral - Finding Nemo

Sad. What would've been different in Finding Nemo if both Coral and Marlin survived with that egg named 'Nemo'?

I loved her. She cares so much.

This was so sad

9 Baymax - Big Hero 6 Baymax is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

10 Han Solo - Star Wars: The Force Awakens Han Solo is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. In the original film trilogy, Han and his co-pilot, Chewbacca, become involved in the Rebel Alliance which opposes the Galactic Empire. He is primarily portrayed by Harrison Ford. Han Solo served as the focus of the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story, where he is portrayed by Alden Ehrenreich.

This was the only movie I ever shed areas on... it was one singular tear... but it was still a tear. NO MORE HAN. I felt so bad for chewy.

Why did his own son stab him!

The Contenders
11 Gamora - Avengers: Infinity War Gamora is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Jim Starlin, the character first appeared in Strange Tales #180. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she is portrayed by Zoe Saldana.

Again, was this necessary. If they keep this up, I'm switching to DC universe

I cried when she died I love Gamora I hate thanos for killing her

I strongly disagree with this decision. I almost can not watch any of the movies anymore

22 Dumbo's Mother - Dumbo

She didn't die, but when the song "baby my" plays, every time I watch it I can't get through it without crying.

I love watching dumbo, but every time I see dumbo's mom locked up, I immedietly start bawling my eyes out.

She wanted to protect her son.

23 Groot - Guardians of the Galaxy
24 Loki - Avengers: Infinity War Loki Laufeyson, or Loki Odinson, is a fictional character appearing in the American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is the adoptive brother and archenemy of Thor, and is known as the "God of Mischief". In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character has been portrayed by Tom Hiddleston.

I was so angry when Loki the best character in Avengers died that seeing Thanos get beaten up by two people in what if... Felt pretty good

He was a great character. After all he's done for the franchise, it's okay that he's dead.

Rest In Peace my friend.

He was so fine
