Avion
Avion is the fifth colossus, a bird-like creature that flies over a large lake. Its arena features a series of stone ruins where the battle takes place. Avion has the most memorable battle, and his fight has the best track. It holds a climactic melody with a fierce and immediate impact, paralleled by Avion's sudden, forceful attack! Personally, the Avion battle is the best and has the most compelling music, which is why Avion is my favorite colossus.
The other tracks have some ups and downs and can be somewhat dreary at times, but this one is a climactic battle theme from start to finish. It has the most memorable tune!
I love this guy. He's my favorite colossus in the game.
Phalanx
Phalanx is the thirteenth colossus, resembling a massive, flying serpent. It glides gracefully through the desert, with weak points located on its wings. He was one of the main reasons that I got the game. He is the biggest colossus that flies in the air, and taking him down takes a lot of work.
Phalanx is the number one colossus of the game. He's the best, most famous, biggest, greatest, longest, and heaviest one in the game.
Kuromori
Kuromori is the eighth colossus, a lizard-like creature capable of climbing walls. It resides in a coliseum-like arena, using its agility to navigate vertical surfaces.
Gaius
Gaius is the third colossus, a towering humanoid with a massive sword-like arm. Its battle takes place on a stone platform in the middle of a lake. A towering tinker-toy with a giant stone sword. Shame you had to kill this thing.
Argus
Argus is the fifteenth colossus, resembling a large warrior with a club. The fight occurs in an ancient ruin, filled with towering pillars and platforms.
Cenobia
Cenobia is the fourteenth colossus, a small but aggressive beast covered in stone armor. It inhabits a series of ruins with many obstacles to navigate during the battle.
Malus
Malus is the sixteenth and final colossus, a massive humanoid embedded in a mountainous arena. The battle is set against a backdrop of ruins and stone walkways leading to the colossus. He's kinda the most important colossus in the game because he's the last one you fight, bringing on the final cutscene. He is also just really cool, with how he's completely still and serves as an actual obstacle in the game. I think, after Phalanx and Gaius, he probably has the best model of the colossi (don't judge my spelling).
SPOILER ALERT! He is the colossus where Agro dies, and you actually see how Wander gets back from him. Plus, in the remake, the fire around his arms looks awesome! I also think the way you get to him is cool, as you have to dip and dive from wall to wall. I think he's a really cool colossus and doesn't get enough credit. Obviously, Gaius and Phalanx are the best, but Malus is still really cool.
Basaran
Basaran is the ninth colossus, resembling a giant tortoise with massive, sturdy legs. The battle takes place in a geyser-filled area that must be used strategically to bring it down. This one's really cool. I always thought it looked kinda like a stegosaurus.
Phaedra
Phaedra is the fourth colossus, a towering, horse-like creature with long legs. It roams a grassy field with underground tunnels, which play a role in the fight.
Dirge
Dirge is the tenth colossus, a large serpent that burrows through the desert sands. The battle is fought while riding on horseback to avoid its swift attacks. My personal favorite. Really, all three of the colossi that require Agro to defeat are my favorites.
The Contenders
Barba
Barba is the sixth colossus, a giant bearded creature that resembles an ancient warrior. It inhabits a vast temple with narrow corridors that must be navigated to reach it.
Valus
Valus is the first colossus, a large humanoid with stone-like skin and a club. The battle takes place in an open valley, where players must scale its body to reach its weak points.
Quadratus
Quadratus is the second colossus, a towering, four-legged beast resembling a mammoth or a bull. Its battle takes place on a rocky beach where players must dodge its stomps and climb onto its body.
Pelagia
Pelagia is the twelfth colossus, a massive creature resembling a bipedal turtle with a stone head. It lives in a lake surrounded by stone platforms that must be used strategically during the fight.
Hydrus
Hydrus is the seventh colossus, an aquatic creature that resembles a giant eel. The fight occurs in a large lake where players must swim and climb onto its back to find its weak points.
Celosia
Celosia is the eleventh colossus, a smaller but fierce bull-like creature covered in armor. It inhabits a cave-like arena where fire can be used to expose its vulnerabilities.
