Top 10 Best Danganronpa V3 Characters

My favorite Danganronpa character in the entire series. I love characters who are complex- and nobody cared about him, except for gonta. People say that he deserved to die earlier for being the reason miu and gonta died, but miu tried killing him, and his plan involved gonta surviving. He also is the voice in the meme "I think you look like a sexy motorcycle, vVrOoM VvRoOm

I tend to believe in the better side of the people, so I really believed in his sacrifice in chapter 5 and his tears for Gonta in chapter 4. I liked how funny he is and an iconic liar to the end. I love his anti hero type and I feel that he always does the things that no one else will do and become the person others need... not want, but needed to be. He's fun, childish and funny with the robophobia. Because he's an anti hero that I got obsessed with him and got all too curious. There are many things people speculate with his character but the duality and blur make it all the more interesting so it will remain a mystery... which fuelled my obsession as fave character.

His role as the anti-hero was played out nicely, especially since he would point out flaws that no one wanted to admit.

He's done some morally dubious things, but he was the one who wouldn't play the mastermind's game. The fact that he calls out overly cheesy things and how people would only care about one another when they're already gone makes me like him even more.

Kokichi is such a complex and interesting character, I can't help but feel drawn to him...
I don't even know where to start.
His character was written really well, too bad he was demonised in the English dub... anyways, I would rate him but the number is too large to even type.

First of all, his design is pretty awesome. Probably has my favorite design out of all the DR characters. He's also my favorite protagonist. You may argue that he's a two dimensional chopped up version of Makoto or Hajime. I thought that at first too, but I changed my mind at the end of the game. Shuichi might've had the best character development out of all the characters. He's suffered so much, and had many of his friends die, and he had a lack of confidence. But, because of those who helped him, he managed to overcome his fear of revealing the truth, another theme of the game. Just like Kokichi represents lies, Shuichi represents truth.

Shuichi deserves happiness and I am so happy that this boy exists, he is so pure and perfect! I feel so bad for him, he misses Kaede. I am glad Kaede met this precious cinnamon roll. He literally is my most favorite character in Danganronpa V3

Okay, I don't just like him because he's the main character, and I don't just like him because of his emo hat... That's a lie and I know it. He seemed like a very unique character in the game and was very interesting to me.

From the start, I knew he would be a dependable character. Not only that, he can be very calm and collected. His relationship with Kaede made me love him even more, since he kept her secret 'til the very end.

Kaede was a very kind character. She tried to get out the mastermind who she thought was Rantaro, but it obviously wasn't. She wanted to help her classmates escape this despairful prison, but ended up dying 1st trial. She didn't deserver her death, and it should have been Tsumigi to die, even if she was the mastermind.

Kaede is such a well written character. She has so many flaws, yet a lovable personality at the same time. She always tries to help others, even if that meant killing someone. She's always kind and caring towards each and everyone of her classmates. She'll always try and do good for them cause she's that type of person.
Also, with a character like her, you would've never thought that she would have the intention to kill, even if it was to save the others. She definitely feels guilty, so even in her last moments she focuses on Making the others feel better, not herself. Truly an underrated character with so much good about her.

Kaede is a kind soul who risked everything so her classmates could survive. As she was hesitant to tell everyone she was the "killer", that is reasonable to be scared when you will be executed the second they vote. Some may call it selfish but it's a normal reaction. And technically everyone who voted for her killed her.

Kaede makes me cry. She was so hopeful, so convinced she was going to get through the killing game, but she was one of the first to die. She encouraged literally everyone, Shuichi in particular, and, from the entire Danganronpa franchise, her talent as a classical instrumentalist is close enough to me. I know she isn't completely innocent, but technically, according to the actual rules of the game, she shouldn't have died! I love Kaede, she'll always be the second best Danganronpa character for me. (next to Chihiro.)

I think the reason he isn't popular is because (spoilers) he died early and didn't get a lot of screen times, and people don't like he's looks.. but this character is too precious!

Ryoma's character is so interesting because he is one of the only characters that accepts that the killing game with start and that he will probably not make it to the end. He's also a break from some of the overly happy characters from previous games who though that a bright outlook on life could make things better.

Underrated as HELL. He's my 4th favorite DRV3 character. He was honestly hilarious even though he wasn't meant to be. Maybe it was his small body and deep voice, I don't know. But I love him. He died way to early. I cried.

Best boy! he's so ridiculously hilarious but somehow simultaneously, I can relate to and feel sympathetic toward him as a character. he's definitely a breath of fresh air compared to the incredibly optimistic characters in the series. he was super interesting and he was baby

Miu was the reason they found out about kaede's plan to kill the mastermind because the device she made to get the floor plan of the library and she was also the reason they could vote kiyo for killing angie and tenko. She did numerous updates to kiibo that helped them all in the trials, she literally schemed up a whole plan with the game world to forcefully log someone out (kokichi) so she can kill him without anyone noticing, and in the 5th chapter miu was the reason kokichi's plan could even start, but he still ending up failing...

I was super late to Danganronpa, but Miu was seriously one of the most useful characters there. Yes, maybe she was extremely lewd and loud, but she first of all guessed the culprit twice and got it right on the first try, and she even guessed the mastermind right! Plus, if Kokichi hadn't asked her to invent a bunch of different things like the electro hammers and bombs, not even his own plan would have worked out! She deserved way more love, and I wish she could be higher up on this list. She really is an interesting character, that has a lot more to her than what meets the eye.

She's always sharp, hot and always so bold. Miu is an absolute riot and a hell lot of fun in the trials. And the functions she added to Kiibo are golden. Her fights with Kokichi mean the world. Despite being vulgar, she's always more of a wimp and that kinda makes her innocent and childish. Teehee. So fun.

She has to be one of the most inspiring video game/anime characters to me. She gives me lots of confidence and sorta let's block out the whole outside world. For me, her personality is a magnet and I personally think she deserved way better. She was very helpfull and hilarious throughout the entire game and always made me smile, laugh, and just straight up think life is worth living, sounds really weird but it's true. I love her general arc tho I understand why people might call it dull or forced. But I think it was handled well enough and to me her moments at the end of chp 5 and chp 6 were very touching.

Maki Roll! She's really badass, she's the ULTIMATE ASSASSIN, for crying out loud, and almost killed that pain in the butt Kokichi. The reason she isn't that up there, is because she can sometimes be a bit annoying.

Even though Maki seemed like a cold person, I understood her. I'll try to act friendly to my friends, but the truth is I'll be crying on the inside. When Maki had to watch Kaito's death it made me cry so much.

Maki's personality and character growth mean a lot to me. She went from being a very isolated and quiet character to one that essentially made a bigger impact on the story.

She would make a good female antagonist if the game let her progress further. Beneath all the Atua lies a girl who wants everyone to be her friends and spend together with her no matter how and I guess the reason she does such things. I find her as smart and manipulative as Kokichi and if she teamed up with him, Atua help us. But she's always so lighthearted, so happy and never let anything bring her down. She always does everything for her own happiness and to extent the others, which I find really great of her.

Angie is a very happy and optimistic person. She deserves to be in the top 10 because her appearance and her clothes are adorable. Of course, she always has Atua with her and when she mentions Atua she does it a lot. And I understand that people call her creepy because of her Love Suite and I kinda agree kinda don't.
She could've been a really great antagonist if she had just lasted a bit longer than chapter 3. She would've been just as great of an antagonist as Kokichi.

I love this character! People aren't attracted to her quirkiness and cuteness. I agree that she only wants to help those around her and spread hope in a hopeless situation.

So underappreciated. This is best girl right here! Some people hate her for her actions or her relation to Atua, but she only wants to help those around her and spread hope in a hopeless situation.

He is the best gentleman ever. I feel like he's an angel from heaven who was there to help people's inner demons such as those of Kokichi and Ryoma. Really, I feel like if Gonta became friends with Kokichi and Ryoma, that's all the redemption they needed. Gonta can be gullible at times but I feel he's not as stupid as others make out to be. He does everything for the sake of others, because they are good people and became his friends. His selflessness is commendable and I... I really cried at Chapter 4 for him. I feel things could be so different if Gonta, Miu and Kokichi... Gonta says he's not a gentleman but that's wrong. That's wrong.

Gonta had the brightest smile, and was an absolute gentleman. He was a caring and loyal friend. When Kokichi manipulated Gonta to kill Miu, I was so sad. He had gotten executed when in ways it wasn't his fault. Honestly Kokichi deserved to be executed. The worst part was how Gonta didn't remember what happened in the virtual reality experience. He was executed, not even remembering what he had done. It broke my heart.

A fantastic example of how to make a kind character without it being a Mary Sue. He's practically a gentle giant. He is really kind, but has enough flaws (Being naive and easy to manipulate) to really get me to like him.

I enjoy Gonta's soft personality and his way of words. Not only that, he's a gentleman! I'm not one to like bugs, but come on... who can resist loving such a gentle, kind character?

Kirumi is my favorite character out of all of danganronpa or any anime/ anime styled game. Kirumi did everything she did to help others. She NEVER would have killed Ryoma a under normal circumstances. She hates it when she is called mom and I respect that so I won't call her that ever. And she is just a really relatable person to me and I LOVE her!

I just, absolute love this character, she just wanted to make people happy, protect, and just help everyone, I love this character on and on and she always kept climbing even tho she was about to die..I wish she kept living on.

I love her so much. She is amazing and wonderful and just wants to help and protect everyone, no matter how much she had to sacrifice. She kept climbing, no matter how many times she was cut.

(Spoilers) What?! She's below the mastermind?! As much as I like Tsumugi, Kirumi is tied for my favorite in this game (competing only with Gonta).

He's so supportive and kind but also has plenty of flaws and isn't presented as some perfect guy either. But still he helped shuichi and maki and tried his best to do the right thing. Yeah.

He really was everyone's friend. He was a happy and pretty nice guy. It made me sad when he died obviously, but he was in space, the place he always wished to go. He is definitely one of my comfort characters.

Kaito seemed like such a fun and happy guy once the story began playing out. He seemed so determined in training his 'sidekicks' and helping them out. It made me happy and sad at the same time when he had his execution. Kaito's death was sad and made me tear up, but it made me happy how he had died in space, where he wanted to go.

He may have killed off Kokichi, but he really didn't have a choice, Kokichi did give him the antidote, after all, he could've just left him to die to the poison and have Maki executed, but yet Kokichi helped Kaito, the two are more alike then people realize.

Well, we all thought this dude was gonna be the Komaeda of this game. But then, he's the first dude to die. He's really suspicious, up to the point where I was like "OKAY WHAT ARE YOU HIDING". We then find out that he's the Ultimate Survivor, because he participated in a previous killing game. He also has my favorite set of sprites. Y'know, if Kaede, Shuichi, and Kiibo weren't here, Rantaro would've been a pretty cool protagonist, because he would've been different from the others.

He seemed really sweet, and I feel like he didn't get enough attention. He shouldn't have died first, and I felt like he should have survived DV3. He's definitely one of my favorite Danganronpa characters.

Although he died so early on, he's still a great character. Mysterious, sweet, and a little strange in the magical character mixing pot!

He is such a nice calm, sweet, generous avocado! I wish he could've been in the game a bit longer, or for at least once class trial.

Wow himiko is incredibly underrated and I never got why. Her character development in chapter 3 is incredible and how hard she tries to move on is inspiring. I assume people find her annoying as a comedic relief later on in the game, but I think the fact that she tries so hard to contribute at the end is the strongest impression she left on me.

She's just so cute and adorable, I'm quite happy that she survived, I was hoping she would. Some people kay think she's overrated because she talk about her magic to much, but I don't see a problem with it. Don't call me blind, I am just honest. And she kinda helpful to, she also say she's shuichi saihara's new sidekick to make him feel better, that's one of the reasons why I love her, but there's more others reasons why I like himiko although.

Okay I know some people wish she wasn't a survivor but I can't agree with that. She lost Angie and Angie was literally her closest friend and her
one outlet then Tenko died and that was her breaking point. She lifted up the cage that took kokichi and Shuichi to place over Tenko by herself really quickly. She really deserves to be alive

Himiko was the bomb. She was such a sweet and innocent character. I was quite happy when she survived, seeing as she seemed to be so hopeful. Some people may call her bland or boring, but I personally think she's one of the most happy-go-lucky characters out there.

My favourite Danganronpa character in the whole series, he's such a disliked and misunderstood character in terms of most of the fandom. People just found him creepy off the bat but he's a really unique person and I really like him. a lot of people just really dislike him because he killed Tenko and/or Angie along with his relationship with his sister but none of that was his fault and it was a huge misunderstanding, his sister was emotionally manipulative and abusive, literally none of that was on him. His sister was ill and she knew she'd end up dying, so she manipulated him into doing all the things she knew she could never do. Basically, Miyadera guilt-tripped him into feeling bad about her state and into a relationship because she also knew she'd never be able to experience it and this was the only option she had if she wanted to be in one. Korekiyo was probably a lot younger at that point which would also make him even more vulnerable to her advances. His whole ultimate and ...more

Most interesting character in the series. Best FTEs, best voice acting, best design. Quite well written, too.

He's probably one of the most misunderstood characters in the game...

I love him, he was just so mysterious, so smart and so interesting!

Why is she at the bottom. Tenko is just a more aggressive Mahiru and Ibuki. Tenko being sexist and slightly a pervert is literally, again, Mahiru and Ibuki. She's sweet and cares for most of her classmates with Shuichi, Keebo, and Gonta as exceptions (just slightly ruder to them), and likes practice Aikido with Himiko and Shuichi. And do I have to mention how cute she is. I do like her cat eye eyeliner and beauty mark, along with the color palette. Seriously just like Tenko.

I love tenko so much and I wish I met her irl so I can thanks to her because she takes care of himiko really well, I kinda wish she's my mother because I don't like guys, boys or men. I mean, she doesn't really deserve a chance. If she didn't want to switch with himiko she would have survived, but I guess she care so much for himiko since she let her talk with angie :)

I love how cheerful and energetic she is, but I also love how she's a fighter! She's really not afraid to speak her mind, but at the same time, can be easily flustered, and I love that about her!

Intense Mahiru, and pretty much the Ultimate Feminist, she and Angie gave Himiko the hope she needed, and I wish Himiko wasn't so hard on Tenko before she died.

Even though I didn't really LIKE her. I definitely thought (since I'ma lesbian) that she's hot. I personally liked Tsumugi better than Junko, and I thought she was a very smart mastermind. From Rantaro's death to the very end. The title 'Ultimate Cosplayer' completely made sense. I feel like she's very underrated.

I don't know, she's kinda overrated to, but yes yes, I think she deserved better because she's nice and kind to everyone, I actually know she was just doing that so she wouldn't be suspicious. That's all I have to say.

She was pretty cool, I loved her as a mastermind, she wasn't too bland for me, I loved her free time events and she was fun to hang around with.

Spoilers here! My favorite headmaster in the entire danganronpa series. Before she showed her real personality, she seemed cute.

He literally jumped into fire to try to save Kiyo, If this doesn't prove he was a good character, nothing will.

I don't understand why people don't like her! She's the same as Fuyuhiko with the fact that they were both jerks before Chapter 2. If only she had survived at least another chapter, maybe she would get the love she deserves.
